LOL yeah it was good. I had the big 80's hair HUGE hair going on. Played in cover bands/bar bands. We looked good, probably hotter than half the chicks in the bar. LOL good times, fun music. :)

Everything happened during the 80's, MTV, the best hard rock bands, great cute styles on women, easy to get into bars underage, computers were just starting up, electronics in general were at an all time high. Threes Company, Dukes Of Hazzard, Knight Rider and Ghetto Blasters. Women seemed more at peace and started to find their own individuality. I miss them.

The 80's were a great time for most of us, we were young, free & single, able to do as we wished, it was our glory time. We may not have had alot of money, but we didn't need it, everything was cheaper!

Television started to use imagination in it's programmes, gone were the days were nearly every programme was a sitcom or documentary. Films took a bold leap & produced some amazing flights of fantasy that are still used as benchmarks today (Star Wars/Alien).

The teenage generation were finally taken notice off, before that we were shunned & labelled as trouble makers.

I personally think, whilst the70's really saw some amazing changes in the youth culture of music/film & television, the 80's really made it reality for nearly everyone.

Would I wish to go back, in some way's yes, in other way's no.

No question, I had a lot of fun in the '80s. Too bad they were followed by the '90s.

I am a bit of a retrosexual so I have been totally hot for 80s chicks. The 80's are often given a bad rap because ppl focus on the cheese, but the good aspects that were around you cant get much better...the 80s had the best movies ever made, they predated gangster rap and home boy wanna bees....the vibe of the entertainment was much more sleak....i watch youtube videos of belinda carlise...the go-gos....bananarama ...etc...those girls were so hot....i think i wouldve had a lot of fun had i been an adult back then.

p.s the 90s were the most embarrassing decade....it was hip to be weird...hip to be suicidal they were so depressing and thats when music went to s hit...thats when any 1 who could strum 4 chords and do their best kurt cobain impression could be famous...qaulity control went right out the window....to me the 90s should be picked on long before the 80s.

The 80's were crap and embarrasing like the man above says, just look at the way people dressed back then and the crap music that came out...sheesh im sure glad its over.
The 90's however were the best, house music was born, the rave scene, extasy, lsd,speed.....ahhh them were the days

My high school years took place in the early 80's, so I have to say they were good times.

Oh and I'm from Texas and we like big hair so the 80's hairstyles made it that much better for us. Just think of all those spent cans of AquaNet.

80's? Hot!

Okay, so I'm a little biased. I finished high school in the late 80's. Big hair, big boots, metal music, and lots of eyeliner. And this was true for the guys too.

I have a friend with whom I am only email buddies as time has taken its toll, but every once in a while, he still asks me if I wear the boots, hair, and leather when I (used to) go out for an evening.

And now, yeah, well.......In the 80's I never thought I'd have the "practical" sense of style, but I guess it happens to all of us. Right???? Someone please tell me I'm not alone with this.

Your 80's, could live without it...My eighties..thank god..for misfits, dead kennedy's, nitzer ebb, ministry, revolting coks, the first part of red hot chili peppers, social distortion, janes addiction, buthole surfers, I love every bit of those eighties..but was a freak back then with a seven inch fire engine red mohawk with twenty eyes in my head...Of course that back when I knew everything...now I'm all grown up and I'm just a dumb man. eeekkkkkkkk, no, I'm not an 80's fan. There's particular things I liked, but those things weren't obviously "80's". Take for example the band "The Clash." They are still played on many modern rock stations even though I think they were most popular in 1981.

I still think volume is in instead of flat thin-looking hair. Obviously within taste and reason, but generally true. Who wants hair that looks thin? I got a flat iron for my hair and tried it out on my tricky waves. Yeah it flattened it out all right. And it made my whole head look like a piece of yellow construction paper.

I definately had the big hair of the 80's...and the acid wash jeans and jean jacket lol. I look back fondly on them but I think it's more because that's when I was a teenager then than because it was the "80's"

I feel old now when I hear of people having 80's parties though....it doesn't *seem* like all that long ago.

The eighties were fun. The music, TV, movies, and MTV actually playing music videos instead of bullshet reality shows and teen dramadies. I miss the radio days from back then too...a time when you could hear Prince, Guns'n'Roses, Peter Gabriel, Jodie Watley, Van Halen, Duran Duran, Sade, and David Bowie songs all on the same station.

Eighties - I'm living in the eighties
Eighties - I have to push, I have to struggle
Eighties - get out of my way, I'm not for sale no more
Eighties - let's kamikaze 'til we get there

And we sang
You do it this way

Eighties - by day we run by night we dance, we do
Eighties - I'm in love with the coming race
Eighties - I've got the best, I'll take all I can get
Eighties - I'm living for the eighties
Eighties - I'm living in the eighties - I push
Eighties - I'm living
Eighties - I'm living in the eighties - I struggle
Eighties - I'm living
Eighties - I'm living
Eighties - I'm living in the eighties
Eighties - I'm living in the eighties - I push
Eighties - push, push, struggle
Eighties - I'm living
Eighties - eighties - I'm living
Eighties - I'm living in the eighties - I push
Eighties - push, push, struggle

The 80's was hot only because I was young and the girls were my age. Other than that it was a terrible decade.

the 80s are a heavily picked on decade and i admit there were a lot of corny aspects of them no doubt but i am quite found of the 80s because to me the good outweighs the bad...the 80s had the best movies ever made in my opinion...if you were a kid they had the best cartoons (ghost busters kicked ass) there was a stronger presence in rock and metal....you could often hear good songs on the radio and here is the thing about that...yes the 80s had some crap music too thing is the crap has gotten worse....the crap today makes the 80s crap seem good..i mean when things have gotten so bad in modern times that when you hear "walk like an egyption" on the radio and its a pleasant surprise....that is f-ing scary!!....my beef is with the 90s...i HATE the 90s...qaulity control on music went right out the window....any jerk who could strum 4 chords and wear their hair like kurt cobain could be famous...then you got into baggy jeans and the whole home boy culture....things just went to sh it.....and most of all the 80s were the last decade where it was ok to be a straight white male...now everything is so politically correct and bogus...plus the 80s were the last decade where cars actually had some freakin metal in them....i think the 80s are given an unfair rap.

I've always been afraid to own a vehicle past eighty seven..thats when they started incorporating all the computers and vacuum lines for the the four wheel drive...It's funny that my eighty seven bronco II still outpaces many newer cars with similiar mpg. and when it breaks, I can fix it, when I want four wheel drive, I walk to the hubs and lock em in, and when I got into an accident on wet roads, I totalled a pontiac sun something plastic car and drove right up to the back window...It was pretty funny when I put it in reverse, drove off of it and didnt have a scratch...Love that old metal..and the crunch of plastic cars...still have the original motor in it and am back down to ten thousand miles again for the third time....

The 80's were my salad days. High school, 1st attempt at college, boot camp, 1st duty station. I was young, and fit, and I knew EVERYTHING, or at least I thought I did.

I couldn't tell you how much my fond memories of the 80's are accurately based on my perceptions of the world around me at the time, and how much my desire to regain my lost youth.

yeah you gotta love the old vehicals made of metal...not these plastic piece of s hit go carts you see today that are ugly as s hit.....when the windshield has to serve as part of the structural stability of the car that is pretty sad. A guy I know had a 76 chevy and this newer truck hit him as he was backing out of his driveway. The guy in the truck had to have his trucks remains toed away....it was totaled!....the guy in the 76 chevy replaced a tail light...lol...another guy i know has an 87 crown vic...and he always has these pushy go cart drivers riding his as s and he's like "go ahead and run into me with your new sporty plastic piece of s hit....theyll be scraping you off the pavement and i'll be fixing a dented bumper"

And it breaks my heart that I'm selling my seventy nine el camino with a three fifty in it.. it's not pretty inside or out, but drives like a caddy, with azz of a cheetah...never even put a radio in it..just listening to the dual exhaust is like going to church and soothes my soul with a primal chorus of testosterone and fire...and it drives so smooth. I know there's plenty out there thats faster, but very few, it's so light and has so much power with that holley four barrel. I'm truly sad to see it go until gas hits four dollars a gallon which may not be that far away. Not to turn this into an 80's cars rule thread..Just already miss the four wheeled sweetheart of my youth.
