Posted: 10/18/2007 8:00:12 PM | I asked a question a few days ago in an attempt to get positive responses instead of bickering and negativity. It worked a bit, but not as much as the negative threads, so hear goes:
Once again - I'm not asking advice, or a "what you're looking£ think to improve my chances.

I love when men remember little things that they find unimportant but are big deals to us... For instance our friends birthday's or since I'm in college reminding me of something I said I wanted to do at school... I think that is so sweet and very thoughtful...
I love men because they are men, because they are confusing and idiotic, because the things they do make me want to scream my head off, and the way in a blink of an eye they make you want to cry and leap for joy because all their shenanegans don't really matter, but what matters is the way they make you feel inside when it's just you and them, and nothing else matters in the world for those very moments...
I don't think I could ever not want men in my life, they are essential, without them I wouldn't cry as much, so I couldn't relieve stress as often, and I wouldn't be able to be happy as much... Without men I wouldn't have something to look forward to just a bunch of crazy goofy loopy women running around, and if no men were around omg bras would not exist, trust me that may be frightening on its own | |

Posted: 10/18/2007 8:38:00 PM | I'll always love my girls, but my guy friends have this wonderful stabilizing presence. When I'm with my girls we'll complain, work things out and just have a ball with it. When I'm with my guys I'll complain, and they'll threaten to kick my tail at Tekken. *shrug* It's fun to sometimes just chill, drink good beer and not talk about relationships sometimes. I've tried with my girls, but its a different type of energy and fun in its own way.
My guy friends are also gentle and simple. They think in a linear fashion....A +B = C...A with any other elements when added to B will always equal C. It's fascinating. I don't think that way at all...any new element always changes the outcome. Some of the best epiphanies I've experienced happened while talking to my guy friends. I tend to overanalyze and complicate things...they always go straight to the point. In some scenarios this is detrimental since they get confused and irritated when others are distracted along the way. Its nice when you want a straight answer though. | |

We are genetically predisposed to want to interact with men. Unless we are gay...then there is a slight chromosomal deviancy that makes us want to interact with women. Unless we are bi, then there is a slight chromosomal deviancy that makes us want to interact with both men and women, sometimes simultaneously. Unless we are into animals....then there is a slight chromosomal deviancy that makes us do things like moo and neigh and bark....

flex when they don't think anyone's watching
look when they hold their babies for the first time
I have one now who is fabulous and I crave being with him almost constantly... I love the way he listens when I need to talk, and talks when I need distracting, sends me to bed when I'm tired, checks in with me when I'm not feeling well, sends me loving text messages in the middle of the day... I could go on.. the man seriously works hard at keeping our relationship strong... I am blessed daily by him. And I tell him every day what he means to me and how grateful I am to have him in my life.

Posted: 10/18/2007 8:48:03 PM | Where to start? They're beautiful to look at. They're warm and solid to touch. They smell good. They're sweet and gentle and they look so cute when they're asleep. They're clever with mechanical things, they barbecue, and they're not afraid of mud. They have wisdom beyond their years. They meet the world head-on and they don't give up. They fight for what they believe in. They're devoted. They're easily amused. They're genuine. They're taller than me and they have strong arms for hugging. They have crazy mechanical toys, and tools.

I love how the pieces of the 2 puzzles fit together naturally.
For me, the true pleasure comes from the differences.

Posted: 10/18/2007 10:48:39 PM | OP: I commend your attempt, but I tried this and there were plenty who jumped on the "bash wagon". People seem to get really upset when someone tries to inject positivity into daily life. Edit: I see a few seem to have taken exception to the topic...
Anyway, I guess that was a bit negative, so I'll answer the question...
What I love about men:
-They can fix almost anything mechanical, seemingly with no problem.
-They have the ability to keep statistics on 12 different sports in their head, AND the entire script to "Dumb and Dumber", which they WILL recite to you when the opportunity arises. Seriously, I have NEVER met a woman who can remember entire movies the way men can.
-They smell good (usually).
-They're strong, both emotionally and physically, again, usually.
-Their bums...notice that's "their", not "they're"...BIG difference!
-They're analytical.
-They tend to be better with money than most women...at least from my experience.
-Watching a man shave...damn, that's hot! (I've never met another woman who agreed with this...am I seriously alone in this?)
Booklover brought this up: There is nothing sexier than seeing a man with his child/children. There is just something about it. Or a man with children, even if they aren't his. Men are so sweet when they're good with kids. | |

Yeah, I have to agree with these two things. Also the butt thing... Visually, it's not so much the butt as that V from the shoulders to the hips, but a nice booty feels good in the hand.  | |

I liked giving massages to someone who just loves them.
I loved getting my hair brushed and my hair almost cut straight.
I liked how my boyfriend had teddy bear qualities - I discovered a whole different side of me I never suspected I had in me...I didn't want him to lose weight!
I love to see a hungry man eat.
I liked how his sheer weight stopped me from completely destroying the bed and I used to not wake up tangled up. I even liked his snoring that would put me to sleep.
I discovered how to be still, well almost, well for a little while....
I like how I discovered a whole different dimension I never suspected or discovered the entire time I was married....dammn now I actually know what I'm missing! Celibacy used to be sooo easy!
With other males, I like how they realise your tease/joke...a few daze later....
God love em.
Michaelango...you do realise sometimes are just better than other times to ask a question like this don't you? .....Hint: tidal fluctuations....much as men complain we are unpredictable...a calendar with the moon phases on it - is a man's best fren...If you want to hear the positives predictably - watch your calendar. If you checked the man hating comment dates, it could be rather revealing. | |

I don't have them as part of my life aside from the president of the company I work for.
I don't need/want them as part of my life and find them more work than a cat and now understand those women.
I'm trying to remember what I like about men... as a gender...... Well they have a penis... that is something... Has it's moments...

First, if the question was reversed, I would tell guys to read Bethlet's posts, they are wonderful.
But.....as for why wanting to keep having them as part of your life? What's the alternative? Many guys can wash themselves, we have to wash vegetables ourselves. | |
