| POF Parties and Selling thePictures Posted: 10/19/2007 4:21:51 AM | I don't know how the rest of you feel, I don't like the idea of a member attending these parties to make money from selling the pictures he has taken.
I attended "Bruno Presents The Venice Beach Party” Sunday September 16th" only to find out that all the pictures taken by one man are posted on the internet for sale.
Wondering how other party goers feel about this!

| POF Parties and Selling thePictures Posted: 10/19/2007 10:50:08 AM | My concern with that party event was the fact that Bruno needed to "approve" the photos to be posted. I have a camera filled with fun, "family" viewing appropriate photos of the beach party that won't be posted for that very reason. Oh well.........I'm looking forward to getting our parties back together down at the Slip Knot where there will be no "censorship" or "selling" of photos! | |

| POF Parties and Selling thePictures Posted: 10/20/2007 7:51:05 AM | DOTTIE, LYNDA, POF'ers, As Hostess of some of the Slip Knot Partys earlier this spring, and the one tonight, I'm going to offer this comment.
Last February, Jerry and I bought a wonderful Digital Camera for ourselves as a an engagement gift to ourselves!! We offered to take pics for the party Laureen(Vetmanager) was having at the Slip Knot. She said, "Sure, that would be great". "What do I do with them? How do I get them on line?" I asked!! "That's easy, I just put your name (screen-name) on the "Host Page" and you POF authorizes you to have access to post".
IT WAS THAT EASY....Not complicated at all.
We posted pics for her, about 150!! Then again when we hosted the April Luau, over 200! I wrote in on the Party Forum...before the party..."Anyone not wanting their picture posted please E-mail Me, BEFORE the party, or write me a note and give it to me AT the party(so I won't forget). I only had ONE lady ask me not to post her pics.
So, I have to agree, with you both. When someone takes something, fun, that flows easily-like pics posted a day or two after a party, and turns it into a waiting game, where the interest is gone after a week or two, OR, when a professional photographer takes pics at a POF event and post on the WWW-they have taken all the fun, and joy out of the situation. Keep it simple and it works!!! Huggs to you both, Kimmie

| POF Parties and Selling thePictures Posted: 10/22/2007 1:37:45 PM | DD: where is the page that is selling pics of POF parties? Email it instead of posting, dont want to help those sales in anyway !!
Why on earth would someone do that? I mean, I like you guys alot but I dont need to buy pics of anyone here lol. Sounds wacky to me....

| POF Parties and Selling thePictures Posted: 10/23/2007 1:52:19 PM | | bellalynda: go girl...u sound like a biker chick with testerone !!!!!!!! censorship & cash from a public party pic !!!!! wow... what's with this ??? !!!! do we have our own picture police ??????? LOL !!! frankly, as a long term participant in the m/c community i have met people over the years who passionately avoided having pics taken & posted. they have their adjenda & so be it....this concept of charging for pics is inconsistent with the "free" component of POF... | |

| POF Parties and Selling thePictures Posted: 10/23/2007 8:22:35 PM | Smiles...........I understand that people may prefer not to have their pictures posted on public sites, bikerguy..............and it's for that very reason that I asked EVERYONE whose picture I took last Saturday night at the Slip Knot party if I had their permission before I took the shot. I didn't get one negative response and as evident by the posted pictures.........despite the rain........"a good time was had by all"..............
Ahem......well, mostly all.............

| POF Parties and Selling thePictures Posted: 10/24/2007 3:29:23 PM | Well I'm glad I didn't have anything to do with the pictures because I like to see any pictures of myself before they get posted anywhere.
It seems like you get mixed views, because some of the members really enjoy seeing them posted.
I'm glad I'm out of the loop...

| POF Parties and Selling thePictures Posted: 6/29/2009 10:25:57 AM | | Anytime I have hosted parties, I always ASK before taking anyone's photo. I post them online and allow people to collect their own images. I have never once had an issue with doing it this way. | |

| POF Parties and Selling thePictures Posted: 6/29/2009 6:08:21 PM | Well everyone who attends the partys that i host.. knows that pictures will be taken.. and if for some reason they don't want there pic. taken all they have to do is email me and i will delete those pic's..as a host you have control over what pic's are posted and who can post pic's..but i don't understand if your single and at a party.. why you would have a problem with pic. being taken.. believe me iv'e been caught on camera a few times.. and had to shake my head and say i can't believe i did that but i did and i don't try to hide it by deleting pic's that catch me.. shall we say in the act!! Seeyaa!! Dan | |

NO 50/50 Draws, raffles, or any money collecting schemes are to be conducted by any POF member or venue staff whereby a Host/co-Host or any POF individual stands to profit in any way shape or form.
As an extension to the no profit by any POF member policy, this includes any scheme such as bracelets, necklaces, or any sort of trinket that there is going to be a charge for. If the venue is going to give it away for free - fine.

| POF Parties and Selling thePictures Posted: 6/29/2009 8:11:43 PM | | When I was in Melbourne, I took a lot of pics, and I always asked first if it was OK. I don't see that as the issue here, the issue is charging money for photos. That is clearly against POF rules or policies, it seems to me. | |

| POF Parties and Selling thePictures Posted: 6/29/2009 8:14:59 PM | hmmmmmmmmmmm. what about giving 'money' to DESTROY pictures!!! Does that count????
seems like that would be a LOT more 'profitable' based on some of the pictures that I have either SEEN or been 'in'!!!! *smile*
