| Received an email notification but no email on POF
Posted: 10/22/2007 9:42:03 AM | Hi, could someone help me -- I receive emails in my actual email account saying that I have received a new message...YET, when I log into POF there is NONE to be found in my inbox.
I tried to IM pof but could not find the correct link.

Posted: 9/10/2008 11:03:12 AM | I think this is more like an error in the system - I've had 2 missing emails today from different people. Both of which are legit and are still live accounts.
It's not a browser cache/cookie issue, as I've used different browsers with the same result.
Interestingly in the notification email it states the number of new messages to be zero, as if they have already been lost before the notification is sent out...

I received notice that I have a new message yet it clearly states that I have zero messages waiting for me; and the profile of the sender has not been deleted as I am able to search for that particular person (this was validated by my initiating communication with the person).

I appreciate you're trying to help, but this isn't a case of user error or over eager browser caches. This appears to be a technical issue within the POF system- believe me, I understand 110% how these things work, it's my job.
None of the scenarios in the default answer matches the events that are happening.
You need to pass this on to whoever it is that is coding the site, so that they are aware of the problem - by all means give them my details, I will be able to help.

Posted: 9/10/2008 6:43:23 PM | Yesterday I got 2 new emails saying I had new messages from two NEW people. Neither one was in my inbox (and still isn't). One suggestion was maybe they put us in favorites - NOPE!
Please explain what "your answer is in the second post from Moderator Ticket" means?
So are there other messages in there that I'm not getting? I don't even know how to ask a question of the technical people on POF - can someone tell me that? I can't find a contact us part anywhere! HELP please. Thanks! | |

Posted: 9/11/2008 7:50:46 AM | I have the same - it's happened twice today from different users who both appear to be on the system still. I have no restrictions on which users can email me.
The text in the notification email reads:

Posted: 9/11/2008 9:11:14 AM | I've also received two of these messages in the last 12 hours (and I keep my inbox clean, so know I don't have too many messages) ... BUT, both users did add me to their favourites list, and I did not receive a message telling me.
Perhaps something in the system got jiggled? | |

The odd thing about it, is that these people don't show up on the "Who's Viewed Me" either....I just looked at the person's profile to write to them, and looked on mine...and no they didn't show up... | |
