Posted: 10/27/2007 12:04:21 PM | What was it, decades ago? Pee Wee (Paul Reubens) got caught playing with 'Mr Bologna" in a Porno Movie Theater. So what?, Clinton lied to a nation about no having sexual relations with Monica and now people are embracing him as some friggin' demi-god as his wife is running for Prez.
I'm a big fan of Pee Wee. Yeah, he's weird, but I still think he was funny and different. Hey, a lot of day views of actors who went on to fame, started out in Pee Wees Playhouse. Pee Wee's Big Adventure is still one of my fav all time movies.
I like to see him back. Anybody else?

I always thought peewee was a strange character but most actors are hahahaha. | |

Yeah, but you have to admit, Pee Wee Herman character was innocent. He didn't have to swear or use profanity like a lot of humor actors/comedians use today. | |

True enough, but I guess we all have our own opinions on whats funny....Honestly, I would rather take the swearing, over some 30 year old that never grew up..lol
The fact that he got arrested for indecent exposure in a movie theater makes it even more weird, simply because his movies were geared towards a younger audience. I'm not saying that had it been any other actor it would have been different, but you have to admit it makes him kind of creepier....Just my take on things...
Although I did read somewhere that after his little "incident" he never did wear that suit again...There is a God!
I know my profile says I LOVE men in suits, but thats taking it too far..lol! | |

Yeah, but you have to separate someone's private life from professional life.
Paul Rueben only done it once and never again. Shouldn't have to ruin his life or stereotype him as a perv. Heck, didn't some pro-atheletes (Colby) and actors (Rob Lowe) have sex with minors? and they're still around doing their thing...and nobody is thinking about what they've done in the past. | |

Personally, I figure the guy should play spank the monkey in private, rather than in a public theatre...but, then again...it was in an adult theatre....{shrug}...if they'd of wanted to, it could have been buried and glossed over with no lose to him or his carreer. someone wanted him gone for a reason, and made sure the public got indignant about the whole thing.
Hope he does make a comeback....and brings down the house!
Couldn't stand the character though...gawd, I thought it was awful...but the kids liked it. | |

Posted: 10/28/2007 8:51:50 AM | Good God Almighty.....unless he was alone in the theatre at the time , I would be willing to guarantee he wasn't the only one "enjoying" himself, so to speak. He was just the only celebrity spotted and the only one arrested.
He wasn't selling crack in a schoolyard or pimping out preschoolers. He was enjoying a film with his best friend. It isn't as if it was filmed and shown on the 11 O'clock news.
The suit was more offensive than the action that got him arrested. We won't even mention the voice. I was never a PeeWee fan but ffs it isn't like he is Jack the Ripper.

What makes him any different than any of the other hosts of children's show? Very few are hosted by children. Adults acting dorky is the main theme as I see it.
Mr Dress-Up was a bit on the odd side and he played with a little boy who lived in a tree with a dog. The Friendly Giant shared his castle with a talking rooster that played a harp and lived in a bookbag and was visited regularly by a tame, free roaming, singing giraffe.
PeeWee Herman did not corner the market on weird by any means. Check out Treehouse someday and have a look at what is entertaining children these days. | |
