The photo of you holding the kitten should get some oooo's and awww's if posted as your main.

Posted: 10/28/2007 11:23:36 PM | Seriously, put some more information on your profile - what do you like to do for fun, what type of woman are you attracted to, list some more details about your interests, something more to go on.
I think you should use the photo where you appear to be peeking out from under a blue sweater as your main one - it shows some personality and you look cute in it. Kind of implies that you are a bit shy - a picture says a thousand words, you know. I think you'll do fine if you just flesh out the about me section a bit more. Show that creativity!

Posted: 10/28/2007 11:57:56 PM | Lets start with your main profile pic selection. At first glance, all of the elements are good but something about it was off. It took me a few seconds of examining it to figure out why I didn’t like it.
1) You have a goofy closed eye expression.
2) You have the dog in a headlock.
3) The dog is obviously looking for the first possible exit out of this predicament.
1+2+3 = First impression of a Goofy, clingy guy who even the dog doesn’t want to be with. I’m not trying to be harsh or humorous, but trying to explain why the pic doesn’t work.
Go with your second picture with the red billed ball cap. It has more of a mischievous/ happy/approachable college-boy feel too it. It is also the best picture of you in the array.
As for the “About me”, yes there are some things that I would change about it. However, 6-7 sentences is pretty slim for a profile. If this is your first foray into the world of online dating let me be the first to explain…. guys don’t get a free ride on their looks the way that pretty women do unless, perhaps, you are in the realm of Brad Pitt good looking.
Write about your interests, goals, dreams. interesting antic dotes. Let your personality shine through the text. Women read these things intently and is one of the first screening tool they use to evaluate if they even want to reply to you.
You are a grad student so writing should be second nature to you by now…. Come back when you have enough material to critique. | |

The one thing Ill disagree with is the dog photo. Although I can see how you'd get that impression, that dog was absolutely in love with me. (recently deceased :( )
Although the angle looks like a headlock, it's a hug :P
I may be slightly goofy, I like to think I'm not clingy though.
I'm not disagreeing with you though, you had some excellent points.
I've added to my profile. More feedback would be great. I find it a lot more "real". | |

I think the choice of photos at this time are great, they show you from more than one angle, can clearly see your face. The choice of photos suggest that you love animals, which.. generally speaking, you're probably a sensitive or caring individual.
I consider myself pretty touchy when it comes to profile content. I think you did a good job being direct, without sounding bossy or self-righteous. (dont kid yourself, a LOT of profiles boast more than tom cruise and his love of katie holmes!)
