Posted: 9/6/2004 3:24:42 PM | i have been E-mailing and talking on the phone with a guy from here, and we had a 'first date" last nite! talk about nervous!!??!! why so anxiety-ridden?!? cuz i want this one to "work"... any hints,,, tips, pointers,,?! Help... anyboy? gothic? ticket? babygurl/ anybody??

Posted: 9/6/2004 3:51:37 PM | Slow , slow as ya can anyway. Just dont confuse being alone with making a new realionship. Very hard to do that when you are feeling alone in the world, but for your own good I would go slow like she said.

Posted: 9/7/2004 3:03:55 AM | I've actually met someone from this site. Turned out we weren't really meant for each other, but that's the way dating goes.
From doing this sort of thing before, I've gotten to where I talk back and forth by chat or email for a while to get an idea of where we might stand, but I don't like doing it for all that long. I figure it's good to get the ice broken first, but I'd rather not get my hopes up too much before we actually meet. Pictures only give you an idea of what the possible chemistry might be. Looks aren't everything, but they are definitely something important. | |

Just make sure you meet in a public place, take your cell phone, let lots of people know where you are, if the date moves to a new location, update everyone, and have someone call you often enough to know your still safe but not to often to be annoying. Be yourself, have fun, and if alcohol is involved only have 1 or 2 drinks. Drive your own car, then if he is not who he said he was you can just leave. Don't get in his car. Most of all just relax and have fun. | |

All i can say is be safe..talk alot on the phone first..tell a freind where you are going...meet in a public place..or do a double date.

But she was and is a wonderful woman and a good friend. So to all of you out there hang in there cause some of the people on here are very real and sincere in what they're looking for it just ain't gonna happen over night. And I don't know about dates but I'm gonna meet quite a few people in st'louis in a couple of weeks from here and am looking foward to actualy meeting the people that I chat with in the forums. lol | |
