Many people I know have cats. And most of those people will vouch for the fact that there are stupid things their cats do.

One thing that my cat does frequently is wake me up in the morning is miaow at me until I get out of bed to accompany him downstairs just so that he can eat his food. The food is already in the bowl, he doesn't want new food, he just wants me to be there. Last night he followed me to the bathroom, and whilst I was in the bath he sat in the bathroom sink. And after I'd got out of the bath he waited for me to dry myself off, and then miaowed at me, so that I went downstairs to watch him eat.

Is it just boy cats that do this because my girl cat is much more sensible?

Thoughts on the stupidness of cats and why this would be so can be discussed below.

Aw! GG, that's really cute!

If you have the choice I'm sure you would prefer to eat with company rather than alone!
My two dogs like me to stay with them while they eat - if I walk away they come after me and huff at me - I have to go back and watch so they settle down and have their food.

my cat insists on following me everywhere and when i sit down, proceeds to sit on my lap, drool like a fecking leaky tap all over me while simultaneously using my body as a scratching post, he does this for about 5-10minutes, then calms down and goes to sleep, then has the bloody cheek to get pi$$ed off if i shift him from my rapidly deadening legs...

I actually find cats far better at training their humans than dogs...

A dog will wait for your command, whereas the cat will quite efficiently have you at their beck and call, as per your own example...

I was about six and I "found" this kitten... actually it was a feral cat. I got it out of the bins, got scratched to bits by the mother... (yep I wanted a cat!) I knew dad wouldn't turn a stray away...... Anyway this bloody cat lived for 20 yrs and was a really good judge of character..She would fuss around peoples legs and if she didn't like you, she would latch on for dear life and bite the fook out of you... (better than a guard dog lol)

I knew when she was in a bad mood, I would wake up with her sleeping (lying in wait) on my feet... I couldn't move an inch, because she would go into attack mode...

I took my ex-husband home to meet my mom and dad...She jump on his lap (which is something she never did) "Ahh" my dad said "she must like you "...she started to give him nudges in the face then sunk her teeth into and inside his nose!

I should of listened to the cat!

I have too many cats, all of which are stupid.

Today....
Nellie has peed in the bath - at least its's easy to clean.
Humphrey came in wet and wanted to 'share the love' by drying himself by winding around me.
Billy is hiding behind the telly.
Kodak fell off the coffee table (shouldn't have been there in the first place!) and Tedward... well Tedward is sulking.... it seems someone has tried to shave Tedward's rear end.
Somebody shaved my pu$$y and didn't even ask first!

My cat follows my son around the house everywhere. When he is doing his homework if she cant sit on him she will sit next to him. She even sits on the toilet when he is in the bath - she walked around the edge of the bath one night and fell in. She smelled lovely - blackberries lol.

My cat makes me act stupid (ok more than normal)

I remember spending four hours searching pet shops for his favorite toy mice, pathetic i know, i get the feeling he owns me sometimes.

He loves sitting on the toilet (seat down just in case) whilst i have a bath, cant imagine how stupid he thinks i look playing with bubbles (no not the chimp).

The amount of times ive woken up in the morning to find all kinds of toy mice on my pillow, he must come up in the early hours waiting for me to play fetch, can just imagine the disgusted look on his face when i wont wake up.

they both are getting on now..and follow me every where,,even to work..they follow me to the loo, the kitchen,,where today i left a nice cheese scone on the bench......wrong move,,i came back and there they were nibbling on the scone..leaving the cheesy bits all over the bench top...now thats selective!!!

One of my kittens once fell in a scolding hot bath once..thankfully he came out unscathed, but now has an obsession for water. If im washing up he will jump in and drink the water..he watches the toilet flush, sits in an empty sink sucking at the tap hoping to get wet, plays in puddles-you name it.
He has a bowl of water constantly but prefers sinks/baths.

I have three at home and the eldest seems to hav been fairly sensible all their life and not done too may stupid things but the kittens we got have done some right silly stuff.
Mouse has got stuck up a tree and also on the house roof whilst trying to get in the bedroom windows.
The other one stuck a paw on the log stove when it was on and burnt its paw.

I thought neutering might have solved the stupidity problems - but alas it seems I am wrong.

ive 4 cats, 2 old ones and 2 kittens . Buddy(only male in the house) has to sleep with my daughter and howls when his food is low or the litter box needs cleaning as well hes petrified of heights. he actaully climbs my balcony side instead of jumping to the rail!!! Douse( my oldest cat) she is just lovable to anyone who walks in, but she as well as buddy need there daily fresh water, be it the sink ,bathtub (i dont even get to get out before their in there slurping)or toilet! Blue and Lippy are 9 week old sisters who are siamese/tabbie cross, with big blue eyes. lippy is shy but has a mouth on her, hence her name! and blue is the cutest one with beautiful blue eyes! they eat the adult catfood and leave theirs alone, attack me in the middl of the night, and are being the usual kittens with kitten acrobats that make you laugh for hours!!

My cat is still only 6 months old but is still displaying many signs of stupidity and strangeness.

When her food dish is empty she will go and fetch her favourite ball and drop it in her food dish. She also likes to play with hair slides. Found one of these in the dish one day too.

We have a flat roof outside our bathroom, on many occasions in her bid for freedom when she hadn't had her vaccinations yet she would jump out on there only to not be able to get back. Many times I had to hang out the bathroom window, enticing her with a treat while trying to, as humanely as possible, grab some body part I could reach and drag her back in.

I have also never met a more affectionate. attention seeking cat. The minute I move in the morning she's straight up to my face, purring like a loon, licking my hands trying to get me to stroke her. Drives me nuts. She doesn't stop unless I hide my face and hands!

She also loves water. Strange but true. If we are watering the garden with the watering can she plays with the spray, running through it, trying to attack it. She ends up soaking wet but doesn't care.

Her and my flatmates' cat take it in turn to make trips to each others food dishes and eat each others, even if it's the same!

I think the thing with cats is they are very manipulative and extremely clever and can get us cat lovers to do just about anything for them.

Mine is madly in love with me and rolls over in excitement whenever I come home (now why can't I get a man to do that he he he!). She follows me around the house just to make sure I'm about and to see what im up to. When it's dinner time she simply HAS to have fresh food; food from earlier one just won't do. Sometimes I even have to pretend to eat it before she will decide that its acceptable.

I wouldn't be without her; she's one in a million :0)

I've got 5 cats, they are all mental.

Mystic is the biggest whore going and gets more action than I do. She's my eldest and has a thing for laying on my chest, nuzzling into my hair, purring her head off. She won't do this if my hair is tied up.

Molly I rescued from some nasty twat that I saw literally kicking her out his house when she was about 10 weeks old. I've had her nearly 6 years and only this year, I'm now the only one she doesn't try ripping to pieces if you go near her.

Brandy another female, runs around the house with stuff teddies, even if they are bigger than her. I now have to hide my razors well out of the way after she once ran downstairs with one of those in her mouth! She also tries to drink out of the toilet.

Whisky is my only male cat, and don't I know it. He meows so loud, be it to go out/come in, be fed, or just wants a stroke. He won't shut up until you do any of them. On more than one occasion, he's woke me up in the early hours meowing to come in grrrr.
He also pisses down the bath plug hole. All my cats go out but I have trays too. But that doesn't stop him.

Then there's Stella my youngest who started going out last month. Almost daily at the moment she brings me dead birds, mice and the blumming rats that are nearly as big as she is! Also she thinks she's hard and stands up to the older cats, which is quite funny at times.

I have always found cats to be very intelligent.
I did have one cat however who couldn't be @rsed to go outside when it was cold, and used to widdle in the coal-bucket!
Imagine the stink when you'd try to put more coal on the fire!!!!
Unfortunately I now live in a shared house and we're not allowed pets, so I have surrogate cats and dogs at others houses....

I love all God's creatures thats why I refuse to eat them, I love Cats more so because I share a bond with them. They can tell that I'm a sucker for them because they always seem to have me wrapped around their little paws...

I don't know how anyone can be cruel too such lovely animals and yes they may do silly things but hey you got to love them for it lol

If there is life after death I want to come back as one.

ive just got three kittens they are so cute but they follow me everywhere, they sit on me all the time sleep in the bed with me and wont let me eat coz they keep trying to steal food off my plate that they then bat about and look at with a perplexed look on their faces. they threw a big glass of water all over the bed at 3 am this morning and everytime i try to use the computer they walk across the keyboard which results in me sending nonsensical messages to people - good job they are so cute!

The food is already in the bowl, he doesn't want new food, he just wants me to be there.

I have a cat that does the same thing - not all the time but occasionally. I've come to accept it as her telling me that she wants to go outside but then remembers that I serve her food and gets hungry again before I can reach the door.

My other cat occasionally needs her dish pointing out to her regardless of the fact that it's been in the same place every day since the day we found her or that she's only two feet away from it. She's also fond of high places, which is odd because she's small with very short legs. Once she managed to find her way on to the roof by climbing a tree to get on to the aviary, then walking along the roof of the greenhouse and jumping the last two metres. Then of course she forgot how to get down and absolutely wouldn't let me help her.

In the past I had one cat climb in to the fridge because it interested him and another that did a four-leg-spread belly-flop in to the pond because either he thought the algae was grass or he knew it was something interesting and just wanted to attack it.
