looking for specific knit afghan pattern

After searching online and not finding this, I am asking for help from the POFers. If you can someone find help find recipes, surely you can help me find this pattern. It has an open, lacy, cable type of stitch that looks wavy and is created by using the "yarn over" technique. Thank you!

Try this link- it has tons of stiches that you can look at pictures
and maybe find it. Unless I actually saw what you were talking
about I have no clue what you are looking for- I know a wavy lacy
pattern for crochet- but I can't think of a lacy cable unless it is
one of those lacy sweaters but still I cant really explain it unless
you were sitting with me and I could show you the stitch.
Good luck.

My favorite knitting patterns are by Leisure Arts. I don't know if they have patterns online as I usually buy a book of patterns such as baby afghans.

As far as a knitted afghan pattern that is open, lacy, has a cable-type of stitch that looks wavy and is created using a yarn over, there are many possibilities. I'm not sure what level of difficulty you are looking for.

One of my favorite stitches is called the "Germaine stitch" and has a cable and a lace pattern on each side of the cable.

Leisure Arts at one time had a book on creating a sampler afghan that had 60 stitches that could be used. You use make 20 12-inches squares using a separate stitch and put them together with a crotcheted border. It is a very nice pattern.

Other than that, I would just search: "knitted afghans lacy cable" and see what you come up with. I found a beautiful cascading leaves design that I am making, but it is not lacy. It is at Lion Brand Yarn.

Could be the size of the needles that's making the 'lacy' pattern, too. A lot of knit afghan are done with oversize needles so they are quick to finish and don't take miles of wool. Not sure what 'yarn over' technique you mean, though, but I'm guessing that what you mean is when you wrap the wool around the needle once or twice before completing a stitch. The effect is to leave a hole, or larger space in the knitting, and when paired with other stitch combinations it can create a lacy appearance. There are a lot of patterns that make use of this technique, often you can find a whole book of patterns in craft stores, and they are usually titled 'quick knits' or something similar because they use the oversize needles I mentioned. Try searching for quick knit afghan patterns, you may find what you're looking for.

Afghan? I thought you were talking about Bill Shatner’s hairpiece.
