| A new great sandwich Posted: 11/5/2007 11:21:16 PM | I take a tortilla and spread Peanut Butter and Miracle Whip (blended) on it, then make a big smiley face on it ;<) ! With squeese horseradish. Then I make a layer of cheese, a slice of spear of pickel, and I cover it with LOTS of Catsup and Mustard (Grey Poupon, of course) and roll it burrito stylie and radiate it for a few mins in the micro! It is fantastic! Sometimes I add little chunks of tofu when I have it for breakfast! A "must try" if you have kids.
I am definitely going to try the RK's "Stalapletunabread Sammich". Sounds yummy!

| A new great sandwich Posted: 11/6/2007 12:05:01 AM | sounds like serious case of the munchies, really p-nut butter and relish with mustard. quit spending all your money on condiments and herb, go get a jar of jelly! | |
|
| A new great sandwich Posted: 11/6/2007 2:40:10 AM | Let's keep it simple and traditional. Peanut butter & banana. Cut like a house.
I guess if you want to go really crazy you could substitute Eggo waffles for bread... and maybe add whipped cream.... but then you're better off just making breakfast.
|
| A new great sandwich Posted: 11/6/2007 8:03:37 AM | Interesting combo OP but I think I can do you one up although it's not as quick and easy as yours.
Really, really soft white bread; crunchy peanut butter; crispy fried bacon; maple syrup drizzled on top; thinly sliced dill pickle...the garlic ones are the best. Dip in egg wash as for French toast and fry on both sides till golden brown. Serve with more maple syrup on top.
It's da bomb!!!! | |

| A new great sandwich Posted: 11/6/2007 2:27:53 PM | What i like is mustard sandwiches, two slices of bread, layer of butter, mustard, then sprinkle either whole or ground fennel or caraway seeds on it. yummy.
grilled cheese, shredded american, colby and monteray jack, layer of jalapeno or pepperocini, olives and a sprinkle of curry. (yes on two pieces of bread then grilled. I'm just giving the innards rofl)
Thin sliced prime rib, put a layer of roasted garlic mixed with mayo, one one side, mustard and horseradish on the other with a bit of honey.
same as above but use pesto, and add tomatoes, or marinated chopped tomatoes.

| A new great sandwich Posted: 11/6/2007 7:25:27 PM | Now those sound good. Take a large tortilla put Genoa dry salami slices, some ham slices and put in the middle of a tortilla.Add some sliced swiss, and shredded mozzerella on meat. Add garlic spread over everything and roll tortilla into a burrito type roll. Micro wave for 1 and 1/2 min. Let cool for a min. It's a half ass Italian wrap. But good. | |

| A new great sandwich Posted: 1/29/2008 11:34:45 AM | My New Favorite Sandwich is:
- bulk sandwich bun - shredded lettuce - sliced tomatoes - sliced pickles - pickled banana peppers - sliced or shaved turkey breast - any kind of sandwich sauce(but I prefer a ranch or chipotle sauce) - grated cheese of your liking - couple shots of Tabasco
I toast them for a minute or 2 . Just as good as Quiznos and a fraction of the cost.

| A new great sandwich Posted: 1/29/2008 8:12:36 PM | For a pure sugar rush, half toast a piece of bread, cover in peanut butter, top with miniature marshmallows and slide under the broiler until the marshmallows have puffed and browned! Elvis! Here I come! | |

Fluffernutter was as much as catch phrase as "Sorry Charlie", "They're Greeeaaaatttt", "Shoop Shoop Hula Hoop", "It's Slinky, It's Slinky, What a wonderful toy....." The Dogs Kids Love to Eat" etc.

| A new great sandwich Posted: 1/30/2008 8:51:18 PM | | I love a pastrami on rye, or dark rye bread -- pimento and cheese with some thick cut ham, and sliced cheddar, then sprinkled with Spike! Vegetable salt. I take that, wrap it in foil and grill it between two hot cast iron skillets. | |

| A new great sandwich Posted: 2/1/2008 9:50:58 PM | Well, when you could still get good balogna, not the stuff they have now with turkey and chicken, my favorite sandwich was peanut butter, bologna and dill pickles with mustard on white. Really, really, really fresh bread.............I still crave them.. bring back the good Kahn's deluxe club bologna!!!
Also peanut butter and apple sandwiches are good.

| A new great sandwich Posted: 2/14/2008 11:09:32 PM | Ok.. try this..
into a blender toss 1/8 green pepper.. (yes you can use red and or yellow.. ) 2 avocados 1/4 cup mayo. sorry has to be mayo this time dash or two of Tabasco. Blend till smooth.
Yes it does make more than for one sandwich..
Other side of this sandwich.. mash together soften cream cheese, and cranberry sauce. equal parts. so if you use 1/4 cup of oe, use 1/4 cup of the other.
Put a layer on sourdough. then put alternate layers of chicken or turkey and provolone. or other mild cheese you like.
on the other side put a thin layer of cranberry and cream cheese

| A new great sandwich Posted: 2/15/2008 11:04:59 PM | | Yep, Yep, Yep now that is a great sandwich. I make something very similar, but I don't use any blenders, just a fork and my hands. Good job! I love it with sprouts and onions added. | |

| A new great sandwich Posted: 2/15/2008 11:22:21 PM | I have to say that most of these sandwiches also make me want to be ill, but like everyone else, I do have some weird sandwiches I like, but this is a thread called GREAT NEW SANDWICHES
Weird sandwiches: 1) white bread, yellow mustard, sliced onion, fritos corn chips 2) hot flour tortilla spread with chunky peanut butter and real (cold) whipped cream My ex-in-laws used to eat fried pickle and mayo sandwiches
Great Sandwiches: 1) Homemade bread artisian style with gorgonzola and walnuts in it, so much to make it blue bread. Slice thick and spread with soft goat cheese, sprinkle with dried cranberries, fresh avocado slices, sprouts and thin apple slices. SOOOO GOOD I like to have this with a coconut milk, chicken, chile, corn, cilantro soup. It is a light, warming and satisfying winter lunch.
2) My version of a Monte Christo, which I think is making a comeback.... Good quality Cinnamon Swirl bread spread with a mixture of cream cheese and jalapenos, or jalapeno jelly, stacks of honey maple ham, smoked cheddar cheese, all dipped in an egg batter and deep fried. I like to use a dipping sauce of: brown seeded mustard, maple syrup, creamed horseradish and seedless raspberry, or apricot jam. This is very good.
