| 3 year old boy and his interest in...."boobies"!
Posted: 11/7/2007 1:18:41 PM | My son is only 3 years old, about to turn 4 in December. Is it normal that at his young age he notices "boobies"???? And this has been a facination of his for over a year!
For example....we were watching a season of "America's Got Talent" and one of the contestants was basically a stripper but called herself something else to make it not sound so bad. Now granted, she didn't take all of her clothes off by no means, but when my son seen her on the TV he started saying, "Boobie Lady, Boobie Lady!" I just about fell down!
Also....during the summer we were getting ready to go swimming. I went into my bathroom and closed the door to change into my maternity bathing suit. The bra part had some padding that was uncomfortable so I took it out and laid it on the counter. After I was dressed I left the bathroom and my son went into the bathroom. He noticed the padding on the counter and came out holding one and said, "Pieces of boobies?" He didn't even see where I had taken these "pieces" from!
Then a few days ago my husband was watching football. The Dallas Cheerleaders came on TV. My son was running through the house playing, he caught them out of the corner of his eye and stops dead in his tracks, turns and looks and says, "Boobies!!!!"
I want to think this is just a normal "guy" thing, but is this something I should actually be concerned about???

Although...this is my first experience raising a boy and maybe it's because I nursed him for a long time.....but yeah..he loves 'boobies' too! 
We will be shopping..or whatever and he will randomly scream out "Boooobies" when passing by women....I think perhaps it's a body part fascination.
He also like to tell ppl that he 'has a penis'....in case they didnt' realize it yet..
Maybe other posters will have other opinions..but I'm going with your son is a normal, healthy ..um...boy! | |

I rememember one time at my grandma's, my Aunt is pretty big breasted and in the middle of my whole family my boy says 'look mommy big boobies!!' and proceeded to go over to my Aunt and touch her boobies to point at them.. I thought my Grandma was gonna faint!!! lol...
In time he'll grow out of it, just remind him where it's approipate and where it's not.. He's probably gonna grow up to be a breast man! | |

I have a six year old son and he went through the same thing I think its just a stage that they go thru about natural curiosity. Dont worry about it to much like i said just dont let it get out of hand. Now that my son is six he doestn really care about that anymore. I have a five year old niece and she went through the same thing. So i dont know if its just boys or little ones all together. | |

A woman I work with was relating a similar story to us the other day about her 4 year old son doing pretty much the same thing, except also approaching women in stores. The fascination with them may re-emerge again later in life, but it's likely he'll lay off his obsession with constantly pointing them out in a short while. Eventually the novelty just wears off of such things. | |

Posted: 11/7/2007 3:53:07 PM | My son never showed that much fascination but I was playing with my neighbors kids one day and their son was about two.. I went to lift him off the trampoline and he reached out with both hands, grabbed my t-shirt, pulled it out and looked down at my breasts and screamed "boooobies" at the top of his lungs.. His parents nearly died with embarassment I laughed my head off.
After that, everytime we saw each other on our decks.. one or the other of us would yell "boobies" at the other!!!
He was fascinated by them. But he's now a well adjusted 8 year old boy and doesn't seem to run around grabbing boobies anymore so I think they outgrow it.
On another note, my great nephew is three and his older sister is 6 and they still bath together ocassionally. The little guy has figured out that his sister doesn't have a penis and keeps asking if it fell off or if she ripped it off. HAHA.. and his older sister keeps very politely telling him girls have chinas and boys have penises, silly.

My younger son (age 4) loves breasts, too... When he's being subtle, he'll just hug well-endowed, well-pillowed women a lot. When he's not being subtle (forgets his manners, quite honestly), he'll pat them or rub them or try to put his hand in their shirt.
He's quite verbal and has talked about remembering nursing and how much he enjoyed it and so on - I think that's the main reason he has such an attachment to breasts - reminds him of comfort. | |

Anywhere I am carrying him and he has a hand down my shirt in my bra. At the grocery store he likes ot grab my top and pull it down and laugh. When I try to pull it back up he gets very mad and wont let go. I have a deep purple bra and when I wear that he says ohhhh and his eyes are transfixed and he rubs them. And, at 1/1/2 he has mastered the motorboat.... What can you do? | |

Posted: 11/8/2007 5:28:10 AM | i'm in the same boat, my 4 y/o has a bad habit of barging in the room when mommy is getting dressed and then i get 'mom i see your boobies' and i politely remind him it isn't polite to look lol. I think they all do it.
And yeah i started breast feeding mine too, but btwn the bruising and the fact that my little monster had a big appetite then, i had to switch to formula, the breast milk wasnt filling enough for him lmfao | |

There is no need to have him treated for this. I would however wonder if he liked barbie dolls and kept talking about seeing weiners. (I know not funny) but he will not get out of this love, only worse. I would however worry if he said he likes the girl's that comes over to see daddy when you are gone better that yours, HAHA | |

Haha, thanks guys...at least I know it is perfectly normal :)
When my son was 3-4 we went to a family reunion and he ran up to my niece and grabbed hers and said "BOOBIES'. I was totally embarrassed, my niece said "Well, he's no different than any other guy I've dated."
I'm 40 and still have a thing for them........big ones, little ones, doesn't matter.
Just wait til he notices his unit sticking out. I happened to notice him when this happened and he kept trying to push it back down, over & over. | |

haha, well, this has already happened. He even told me he thought his was "broken"! He likes to wear his pj's without underwear because he likes to reach his hand in there and play with it.
During the summer he had gotten some kind of bug bite on it, and when my son gets bug bites, they tend to swell...he sure had a hayday with that until the swelling went down! | |

I have even caught him going throught eh sears flyers etc for ads with models in their bras and panties. HE does know now at 9 not to run around yelling boobies while grabbing htem, but I do catch the shy look on his face when he sees them. I see that look often in the summer when teen girls are running around in tight tank tops. | |
