surfing the forums I noticed people having 'xmas' banners on their posts.
Don't you find them a bit premature? - maybe this post is as well -
When and how do you start savouring the xmas experience?

Yes absolutely completely utterly premature - cant bear them.

Did question their useage on another post but worded it the wrong way and was told the banners etc were there from last year. I wanted to know why people had started using them in October, before Halloween and Bonfire Night. And what about the shops? Aisles full in the shops - that'll start in summer next year as each supermarket competes to get their stuff out before the other.

I prefer to get into Christmas about 2 weeks before, when I go and buy me and my mum a Christmas tree. That's the start for me.

Usually I get into the mood Christmas eve afternoon - when I'm making mince pies and watching A Wonderful Life or Miracle on 34th Street or some such film.

But I might get in the mood earlier this year because I've got the week before off. And the first week of the new year. But do have to work the 2 days between christmas and new year.

So just in case I forget

Well I have just been informed Santa will be coming through town next saturday morning at 10am, and starting his grotto in a very well known department store. It's not even december yet!

^^^ You remind me of my mate Chris.^^^

She has one tree decked out in silver in her living room and one in Red and Gold in her Kitchen...She decorates every room downstairs, along with the outside of her home...She has the Santa outfit for Christmas day..

And I really started to worry last year when she bought one for her sons dog..

Me, well its when I decide to put up the tree. And I have seen me do thast Christmas eve..

Looking out my kitchen window last night, i noticed one apartment in the flats across the fields has put up Christmas decorations......flashing images of santa and a snowman and twinkling lights.
Very pretty, but isnt that a little too soon.....

Well people do tell me i'm a bit on the Anal side when it comes to things like this

I start shopping in Oct, i've now got everything apart from a bloody WII for my daughter, which is proving a bit of a problem, not sure she's gonna get one

I've started getting certain foods in, i'll prob start wrapping soon, card list is done, so i just wait till bored one night lol I do all this, cause i hate last minute shopping, i like to enjoy plodding round, hate busy town centres and miserable x-mas shoppers

But i refuse to put dec's up til beginning of Dec, my daughters 9 now and we still have the arguments.

I don't have a lot of money, which is why i start early, and i love shopping full stop, so any excuse really

But i love x-mas, i get excited sometimes more than my daughter. Especially the parties and get togethers. Again it's all money but i was the 1 that decided to have my daughter so my own fault really lol

December is a costly month for me, as there are a few families birthdays including mine 12 days before Christmas day. I tend to buy crap throughout the year and send it to people at Christmas

I'm listening to christmas songs already!!

The decorations go up on December the 1st - none of that 12 day nonsence for me!! I absolutely love the build up to Christmas, have done since i was a child and having a child myself and seeing the excitement in him.... well it's contagious!
