Was chatting wih a friend of mine today and we got to talking about who lived in the better city. I wont mention where she is from, but she quickly concurred that I live in the far better city.

So I started wondering, if you could choose anywhere to live IN ONTARIO
where would you live ? ( The reason why it is IN ONTARIO only, is because there has already been a thread done about where you would live in Canada)

And for those of you, who simply adore where you live, if you had (read being forced) to move, but your had a choice where would you choose ?

I love where I live. I am close to all my family and friends. Know where everything is. Close to T.O. and Hamilton. Have everything I need close to home. What more could I ask?

I love the country too. I visit my cousins near Sudbury and love it there. Maybe when I am older I might do so.

I was born and raised in Hanover... where I live now. I absolutely love it here.
IF I had to move anywhere i'd prefer Guelph. It's not too big and it's not too small. It has everything you need and isn't too far from my home. There are many people there with the love for small towns and country like myself.
No matter where I live in the future... I will always be a small town girl with my redneck roots.

I was Born and raised in Burlington - I think I will stay here! It's close to everything I want to get to and it has all I need. I like that it feels safe and secure as well.

I've always enjoyed the rolling hill country of Caledon or perhaps, north of Milton. Somewhere not to far from the city (for the cultural stuff, and the International Airport). Would love to be up on the side of a hill where I had a view, but still my own bit of privacy.

True enough the money in the city . Wilderness makes the sense of it all , peace quite and gives you the comfort zone to easy any day of the week .Traffic against open spaces , were you drive for hours without traffic congestion ...Greater Golden Horseshoe the population is growing at enormous rate, and gives us more job opportunities to make our dreams and our hopes to come to life ..In any situation I must say some wooded area lot in the Muskoka area would be more pleasing then a condo in the greater Toronto area .May consider after retirement comes in to affect .

I am contemplating all this now. I hope to move in the next 6 months....now I am trying to narrow it down to what I really want....a house, condo, townhouse....I just know it has to be closer to the city.
I was talking with "P" last night and we came to the conclusion that a condo may not be the right thing for me since I really do need a space for my hot tub and I do like a small garden....nothing huge or elaborate. So I could be leaning towards a townhouse. Now I need to find out if it will be in the Woodbridge area, or Etobicoke/Mississauga area!

To make things complicated, I cannot single out one city in Ontario.

Just yesterday, I was rushing home, and in front of me loomed massive thunderclouds over the rolling hills ahead of me.

Then I was drawn over my shoulder, and there was a rainstorm enveloping the Hamilton Mountain.

As I watched this theatre, on cue, a rainbow arced across the sky, begging to be touched.

Awestruck, I knew why artists have been coming here for generations, and felt again, how lucky I am to call Ontario home.

London, Ontario. Our city has been ruled and getting in debt for years by the city.
There latest thing to get money from people(even though we pay taxes is to get the Animal Care and Control knocking on doors to find out who has an animal. Knocking loudly so you hear the animal barking, peeking in windows, the organization has been caught repeatedly, and the city says tough luck. Also overnite parking has been targeted. And because of the infrastructure, the city mayor has decided that another $ 60.00 has been added to the Hydro bill. So a place NOT TO LIVE. Like to hear if other people are experiencing this in their city.

EDIT # 2: i would move to hell i dont know where i would move to, so many beautiful places to choose from, i have to say on a lake, north of toronto, probably jacksons point , but then i have always like schomberg/orangeville. i also like kingston too, london could be a possibility, just wouldnt move to kitchener, or toronto, or mississauga, or markham.

Greeneyes...no discussion between Woodbridge and Mississauga...Mississauga all the way. Lots more than Woodbridge, anyday.

and a Condo leaves you more time to party with us than a townhouse or your own house, minimal maintenance.

if i really really really had to move i think i would try Ottawa. i simply love the locks and could spend hours watching them at work. in the winter i would skate up and down the Rideau Canal (even though i can't skate)

but please let me stay here in this gorgeous city of Toronto.....it's the bestest

I've lived in Barrie, Toronto, Markham, Windsor, Britt/Byng Inlet (Parry Sound District) and now I'm living in Schumacher (Timmins District) - I've loved every city I've lived in. I think that if I had to choose, it would be a toss up between where I am now and the Parry Sound District. Why?? Because I feel that it is the best place to raise my children without threat of gang violence.

Cities suck. I like living out in farm country. No artificial BS, and its harder to for family, "friends", and neighbours to bug you if they want to.

Northern: Condo is definately not for me. I want my space (backyard)...even if it is a small spot in a townhouse complex. I am considering Woodbridge/Vaughn area because it is at the top of the city with easy access to the major 400 series highways and would not be too too far for me to drive to work. Mississauga would be ok too, but then I am too far from the S'wah peeps. Also, in consideration for something else happening in my life, I really need to be close to the subway lines and major bus routes for quick and easier access to the downtown core of TO.
But in answer to Tabbs question, if I could live anywhere in Ontario that I want to live, I think the Niagara Escarpment would be ideal....there are some hunny of estates going up the mountain to Rattlesnake Point. So when I have two or three or more extra Mill kicking around......

Guelph is known for its rich architectural heritage, its vibrant cultural life and wonderful assortment of music festivals.

Beautiful parks and riverside greenspaces provide outdoor fun for people of all ages.

A variety of recreation and leisure opportunities are available to all.

A visit to the farmers' market is an adventure of colours, smells and sounds.

The City of Guelph has been involved with implementing and overseeing a number of ground-breaking environmental initiatives aimed at preserving our natural resources while maintaining a high quality of life for Guelph residents.

That and it is home of The Stampede Ranch baby!! 226 Woodlawn Rd. W.!!!
