| Guys Living in Trailors Posted: 11/14/2007 12:33:29 PM | | Do girls consider dating guys who lvie in trailors? Is this considered to low class. I can see why some girls want to date guys who live in a certain lifestyle or income bracket.. Just wondering what you think. | |

| Guys Living in Trailors Posted: 11/14/2007 12:39:25 PM | I feel he is smarter if he is either buying the land the trailer sits on or owns it. I feel the person is on the loser scale if he leases or rents the property his trailer sits on. I just believe in houses. If i ever get with anyone they would have to live with me because i payed my house off after the 7th year by adding to the principal payment per month.

I did not ask if the guy wanted a gold digger.

| Guys Living in Trailors Posted: 11/14/2007 2:35:27 PM | | I agree with the last poster what or where a guy lives isn't the issue it should be about the kind of person he is and how he treats you much more important then housing. Mel | |

| Guys Living in Trailors Posted: 11/14/2007 2:39:39 PM | | I live with my mom and dad so ya I am worse off at least the guy has his own place. | |
|
| Guys Living in Trailors Posted: 11/14/2007 4:07:20 PM | | my ex lived in a trailer behind his parents house. I gave him the benefit of the doubt. Turned out he was a freeloader, so go figure. would i date a guy in a trailer again, nope. | |
|
| Guys Living in Trailors Posted: 11/14/2007 4:46:34 PM | | Depends. If you own 40 acres and the trailer, it's different to if you don't own the land or the trailer. | |
|
| Guys Living in Trailors Posted: 11/14/2007 5:10:37 PM | Why does it matter? If the girl isn't going to date/fall for you because you live in a trailer she isn't someone you really want to be with anyway. We all go through stages of income in our lives and if you are smart you live within your means. I know people that live in trailers.....apartments....condos they don't own, but have more money than others that own their homes (with the home value included). I don't measure a person by their bank account and believe it or not there are millions of other women/men that feel the same way. I was married to a man with more money than one could ever spend and I've been with men with two dollars in their pocket. For me the man himself matters honestly I don't need his money to entice me. | |

| Guys Living in Trailors Posted: 11/14/2007 6:16:29 PM | I think it goes both ways, some men and women look at a trailer dweller and instantly think "trash".
depends a lot on the age of the couple. It's probably not an issue if either of them is just starting out and maybe going to college. but... say...by the time they're 30 ish they should be doing better than trailers.

| Guys Living in Trailors Posted: 11/14/2007 6:33:20 PM | OP. The living in the trailor wouldnt' be the deal breaker, what would be is if there was a bunch of old non running cars. The outside and inside look like a garbage dump.
There is many places across the nation that people choose to live in a trailor instead of a home.. It would totally depend on him

| Guys Living in Trailors Posted: 11/14/2007 6:36:52 PM | | I would date a man who lived in a trailer, but not one who lived in a trailor. | |

I'm sorry nitrochevy, but I fully disagree with this. You are not taking into consideration the myriad of explanations that could cause someone in their 30's or even later to live in a trailer.
I personally spent the last 10years being a stay at home mother to six children. I now find myself on my own again with my own three children. I have land that was given to me as a gift by my family, but no disposable income to do anything with it. But when I do have that disposable income...a trailer will be going on a full foundation, on that very land. Why a trailer and not a house...because I am smart enough to know I could not afford a house at this stage in my life of "starting over". And besides, I only have hmmmm....9 more years until my kids are of age. I do not want to be rattling around in a huge house by myself when they are older and move out.
Trailer does not in anyway equate to "trash, low income" or any other name that people seem to stick on it. It is a home. It will be paid for with the same money that I now use to pay rent. It will be mine, not a landlord's. I will be able to paint it any color I want, and know that all the hard work that goes into it comes from me. I see that as a sign that I should be proud of myself, not ashamed, because it is a trailer and not a home.
Just my two cents as always.

| Guys Living in Trailors Posted: 11/14/2007 8:08:15 PM | | With housing prices the way they are and the fact that many people in their 30's are starting over after a divorce, if a man has housing of his own, that's what counts. Trailer trash is a state of mind, not an actual place. | |

Now, only if we could clone linedingold, or at least spread her memes, that would be fine. I relish that attitude.
