| Abuelita - The World's Best Hot Chocolate Posted: 11/14/2007 8:56:27 PM | Abuelita is a chocolate product made by Nestle. Anyone from south of border or of Hispanic decent may be familiar with it. I find it at the local Kroger/Safeway in the international isle. Purchase it in tablet form for the recipe below.
Abuelita Hot Chocolate (Abuelito Style) 2 cups milk 1/2 tablet of Abuelita chocolate Sugar to taste (about 1 tablespoon) (I usually leave it out) Big marshmallows (or little ones but Grandpa likes them big and fluffy) 1 jigger of rum (optional for you but not for Grandpa)
Heat milk and chocolate in pan until chocolate begins to dissolve. Remove from heat. Blend using a hand blender or transfer to table blender and pulse until frothy. Pour into mugs. Stir in sugar to taste. Add marshmallows. Pour some of grandpa's cough medicine (rum of course) over the marshmallows and garnish with cinnamon powder and cinnamon stick. Serve immediately.
This will definitely warm you up on those cold winter nights. This recipe uses about 1/2 the milk suggested on the package. Add more milk if the flavor is too strong for you. Give a try and I hope you enjoy it.
Also if anyone has a pudding recipe that uses Abuelita please post it :)

| Abuelita - The World's Best Hot Chocolate Posted: 11/18/2007 8:56:00 PM | Thanks MSW. I'll try that recipe out. It a little disappointing that it is made with the instant stuff though. It isn't quite as good. Also I didn't know that website existed for Abuelita recipes. I will definitely be looking into that :O)
