| THE WHO || Amazing Journey DVD Posted: 11/15/2007 6:47:40 PM | | I'm looking forward to it as well. For me, The Who is the top of the Big Three old school bands. Then the Stones, and the Beatles a distant third. I'll definately be picking it up! | |

| THE WHO || Amazing Journey DVD Posted: 11/16/2007 12:18:59 PM | I'm not sure. I love love LOVE The Who--they were my BAND for 13 years or so-- but there isn't much on there (they showed it on VH1 a couple of weeks ago) that hasn't been rehashed over and over and over again, with maybe 10 years added on. I still have my copy of "Maximum R&B" from 1994, as well as a couple of TV docs from 4-5 years ago that pretty much tell the same story. There isn't any real new insight into the band with this new documentary.
So I may pass--unless I get it as a Christmas gift.

| THE WHO || Amazing Journey DVD Posted: 11/18/2007 12:40:06 AM | I bought it. I think it's worth it. It's more a documentary than the Kids are alright. The only thing I dont like about documentaries, is that every time they show a music clip, you want to see the whole song. It's got a real groovy 2 song live from '64 or '65 on the bonus disc. It shows some of their baby pics, how they formed, talks about their managers. Pete & Roger talk candidly about Keith & Roger & about each other. | |

| THE WHO || Amazing Journey DVD Posted: 11/18/2007 4:41:36 AM | I recently picked up the Who's "Whos Better, Who's Best" DVD. It has all their videos/promo clips from the 1960s through to the early 1980s. Interesting musical document.

| THE WHO || Amazing Journey DVD Posted: 12/14/2007 11:16:34 PM | | If you can, get your AJ dvd from Best Buy. They're offering a 3rd disc - a DVD of a Chicago concert from 1979. It's not the whole show; but most of it. It's the same show that was the source of "Music Must Change" on the "30 Years Of Maximum R & B Live" dvd... | |

The only thing I dont like about documentaries, is that every time they show a music clip, you want to see the whole song.
Some of the better/smarter DVDs do this. Like Jefferson Airplane's DVD has a option for hearing only the songs, WHOLE songs, so it plays like a regular CD as well as a DVD. It's a fantastic option -- I am stumped why more discs aren't made this way.
