| WHAT'S YOUR FAVORITE INSPIRATIONAL QUOTE, STORY OR POEM? Posted: 11/15/2007 9:15:50 PM | I personally like this quote:
I gotta take a little time A little time to think things over I better read between the lines In case I need it when Im older
Now this mountain I must climb Feels like a world upon my shoulders I through the clouds I see love shine It keeps me warm as life grows colder
In my life theres been heartache and pain I dont know if I can face it again Cant stop now, Ive traveled so far To change this lonely life
I wanna know what love is I want you to show me I wanna feel what love is I know you can show me
Im gonna take a little time A little time to look around me Ive got nowhere left to hide It looks like love has finally found me
In my life theres been heartache and pain I dont know if I can face it again I cant stop now, Ive traveled so far To change this lonely life
I wanna know what love is I want you to show me I wanna feel what love is I know you can show me
I wanna know what love is I want you to show me And I wanna feel, I want to feel what love is And I know, I know you can show me
Lets talk about love I wanna know what love is, the love that you feel inside I want you to show me, and Im feeling so much love I wanna feel what love is, no, you just cannot hide I know you can show me, yeah
I wanna know what love is, lets talk about love I want you to show me, I wanna feel it too I wanna feel what love is, I want to feel it too And I know and I know, I know you can show me Show me love is real, yeah I wanna know what love is...

| WHAT'S YOUR FAVORITE INSPIRATIONAL QUOTE, STORY OR POEM? Posted: 11/16/2007 4:45:00 AM | I stumbled across this the other day and he has expressed precisely what I've not been able to fully articulate:
Disability is not a ‘Brave Struggle’ or ‘Courage in the face of Adversity’ … Disability is an Art. It’s an Ingenious Way to Live ~ Neil Marcus
Thank you, Mr. Marcus! | |

| WHAT'S YOUR FAVORITE INSPIRATIONAL QUOTE, STORY OR POEM? Posted: 11/16/2007 11:30:56 AM | You can tune a piano, but you can’t tuna fish. – REO Speedwagon
I’d rather have a bottle in front of me then a frontal lobotomy. - unknown
Any sufficiently advanced technology is indistinguishable from magic. – Arthur C. Clarke
Anyone who tries to make a distinction between education and entertainment doesn't know the first thing about either. – Marshall McLuhan
I wouldn't have seen it if I hadn't believed it. – Marshall McLuhan
Societies have always been shaped more by the nature of the media by which men communicate than by the content of the communication. – Marshall McLuhan
A stupid man’s report of what a clever man says can never be accurate, because he unconsciously translates it into something he can understand. – Bertrand Russell
Why do I like these quotes? I dunno – I’m just weird like that.

| WHAT'S YOUR FAVORITE INSPIRATIONAL QUOTE, STORY OR POEM? Posted: 11/16/2007 7:24:40 PM | "Just because you're paranoid, doesn't mean they're not after you"
I dunno who said that, but I like it. For me it's about not forgetting to trust your gut instincts......doesn't mean you're nuts.
Another I saw in Time Magazine was a quote from Sean Penn regarding the movie Into the Wild he directed, based on the diary of a young man who turned away from his safe and normal conventional life and walked into the Alaska wilderness and unfortunately starved. The quote from Penn was in reference to the pretense and fake veneer that can make our outward personas seem artificial......
"The wilderness is ruthlessly authentic".
For me this strips away all the junk. There's no room for falseness and bullshit in the woods (or on the ocean). I think it's a "woman against the elements" thang....my feeling is you need to leave the mascara at home and you might find out what you're really made of, because essentially, once we take away all our constructed anthropogenic support systems, we are exceptionally vulnerable. Basically.... entering the food chain, and not at the top. You better have your caca together.
