i would like to ask you to add a feature to the forums to notify us when a reply has been made to a thread we have added to or shown interest in. Many other forums that are as busy as or busier than this forum have this feature and I know that it can be easily done.

Is this possible? Would other members welcome this improvement to the forums?

The problem is ISP's marking plentyoffish as a spam sender because of the volume of mail going to a specific user or group. The forums need a major overhaul to make it more user friendly and searchable.

OK, thanks for the reply. I know it's feasible and can be done and I think this would be a valuable and useful upgrade for the site.

There are some websites that offer notification of changes. I use the ChangeDetection site to let me know when certain softwares get upgraded. I give them a URL and my email and they notify me if that page changes. I believe they only check once a day.

What about putting a notice up in the mail/profile section when you log in? Just something that says that there have been followups to a thread since you last logged onto the forums?

Well, just a thought.
