I lost all images from my Plenty of Fish Site, Please Help Getting Them Back
Posted: 11/18/2007 1:08:27 PM
Hi, I right clicked on a photo to see if there was any way I could get that "one" to disappear. I selected something like "make images go away", thinking it would block that one image/user, and in stead all images went away and wont come back. I shut down and re-booted, and still nothing. Is there a specific command that I execute to make images come back? Please assist.

Did you install any Firefox Ad-blockers?

Nope - all I did was right click and select "make images go away" or something of that nature. I thought that there would be a reverse command to select to reverse it, but once I selected it - that specific command disappeared and nothing appeared to replace it. (like when you're in a MS spreadsheet or document and you select "protect" or "lock panes" and then it replaces the command with "unprotect" or "unlock panes"?) No such luck. Hmmm?

Well, I selected "tools" above but the drop-down does not offer a selection of "Image Manager" or "Allow Images From This Site".

I still could use some suggestions...

What browser are you using? And what exactly did the menu say?

Hi, thanks for the help.

Well, I'm using a browser called "Mozilla Firefox" at the suggestion of the guy who installed my high speed connection. My very used computer was a gift from a friend, however it is as slow as a snail - so, the Mozilla browser sped things up a bit. I'm not sure why, but it does.

When I click on the "tools" on the top bar, the drop down selections that I get are: Web Search, Downloads, Add Ons, Error Console, Page Info, Clear Private Data and Options...

I've browsed each and nothing seems to answer my questions, and I've re-booted.

Any assistance that you can provide me with will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Try this: Go to the Tools menu, choose Options. Click on Content. Beside "Load images automatically" click on the Exceptions button. If you see pics.plentyofsite.com listed in the box, click on it, then click Remove Site. You might have to close the browser and restart it for the change to take effect.

If you don't see pics.plentyofsite.com listed in the box, then right click on an image (on another site) and get the exact wording of the selection you used to block pictures. Post it here and someone may recognize it and know what you used to block pictures and how to reverse it.

I selected something like "make images go away" ... all images went away and wont come back.

There is no such "default" Function in Firefox.

It has to be an Add-on of some sort, likely some Image Blocker of one Kind or another.

You likely inadvertantly clicked to remove all "Similar" or "Parent" Items on your "Context Menu".

In your "Context Menu", click on < Rip Advanced > --> < Rip Options > , in the "Current RIP" Tab, remove any Items accidentally blocked.

If that doesn't remedy the Block, cont. on with the Steps below:

Go to the < Tools > Menu ---> click on < Add-ons > , top left of Window click on the < Extension > Button.

"Highlight", and then each one.

Go to the < Tools > Menu ---> click on < Add-ons > , top left of Window click on the < Themes > Button.

each one.

Should that not resolve the Problem, then it would be best to uninstall Firefox.

Make sure you also manually delete the \Mozilla Firefox Installation Folder and all Sub-Folders to remove all Plug-Ins, Themes & Extensions as well. That Folder can be found under C:\Program Files\. Reboot, then re-install Firefox.
