You are right, funlovingscorpio, the use of cigarette will negate all the good exercises and well balance meals one can do. This is not only true while one is smoking but will carry though for years to come after one stop smoking.

Here's a few benefits from not smoking:

- better sleep and more vivid dreams
- food and beverages taste better
- more stanima for work, sport and sex
- more intense orgasms
- skin will stay younger looking longer
- no kissing "an ashtray"
- cloth smell much better...so does your hair
- longer life
- more energy

Doc Sage

P.S. That said, I am sorry to say so...but I am off for my daily walk. See you soon.

Here's a few ,,benefits,,from smoking for me....

Cigarettes are sublime and wonderful. We all know how life is full of little periods of time where you have to wait.

Cigarettes allow you to reward yourself for every inconvenience, every distraction and every annoyance with a blast of soothing freebase nicotine -- only seven seconds from the lit end of the cigarette to your brain. Cigarettes are also social occasions. Cigarette smokers share information on smoke breaks. Smokers are also doers. They break up their work into manageable segments and then reward themselves for success in their incremental steps...LOL

If it didn't give you emphysema, cigarette smoking would be the greatest thing since sex...

Just kidding (not sure now-taking a smoke break)

Simona you should try the best of both worlds.
Smoking while having sex.

As for the OP she should realize that food she eats, the vehicle she drives are just as dangerous to her health.
Getting in a car and driving it puts you at a far greater risk of getting injured or killed than smoking ever would.
Everyday life is dangerous for ones health.

Smoking while having sex

While???? No,darling, after ....

I always smile after sex,because
I can finally have myself a smoke ....

It's not that I don't enjoy sex
It's just that a cigarette lasts longer LOL And if I suddenly
decide that I don't want to finish the cigarette, nobody
complains. Nobody screams and runs to the shower....

My aunt quit smoking, started exercising, became a vegetarian and then almost choked to death when a piece of lettuce blocked her windpipe.

A bit off topic, but I always think of that when people talk about living a healthy life style.

I'm sitting here smoking as I type, because I know Scorp would make out with me regardless. In fact, she has.

Whatever, Val.

As a sidenote, I don't do any of that other weird healthy stuff, so that renders the smoking acceptable.

well Carly ... only for you

but i talk to soooo many ppl about how they exerice and lead a healthy life style want someone who is a size 4 - 10 ... blah blah blah ... but they are smokers ... be that i am an ex smoker ... havent had one for 6 years and proud of that .. i know first hand about smoking and all the things that i dont like about it .. didnt like about it and still dont like about it ... honestly ... i quite smoking lost 80 pounds and for the first time in 8 years i could run around and be goofy with my boys and they LOVE it ...

heard someone the other night talking about this at my 40th bday party and then off to have a smoke ... i know each to their own and i abide by that ... but really if you think about it they are really conterdicting themselves ... right or wrong ??
just my thoughts ...

cascadian ... yes i agree with what you say .. but that is what we call accidents is it not?
smoking is a choice ... and accident happens ... its chance ..

People make the choice to smoke.
A result of smoking can be cancer.
Not everyone gets cancer.
Those who do can call it an accident or a side effect of smoking.
Smoking is a choice

People make the choice to drive a car.
A result of driving a car can be a smashed in face.
Not everyone gets a smashed in face.
Those who do can call it an accident or a side effect of driving a car.
Driving a car is a choice.

Everything we do in life has risks and side effects that can kill you. Everything.
Even if you decided to live a risk free life by doing nothing but sitting in an easyboy for the rest of your life that would probably kill you too. You would end up getting pressure sores all over your a55 and they would fester and become infected and yes they would probably kill you too.
People just choose to harp on about smoking.

As for Simona and her cigarette lasting longer than sex maybe she gets off real quick or she smokes really long cigarettes quick doesn't always mean shitty.

its the relationship u have with the cigarettes and once u r addicted to the things they ur not in control

Being in the best physical health when they smoke is NOT possible from a medical/ biological prespective. NOT going to go into detailed elaborations but pple who say this r fooling themselves.

It's like pple who r obviously overweight, carrying a few pounds on them and giving u all the exercise tips but won't venture into a gym or do a exercise routine.

Bottom line it all has to do with the psychological relationship to the substance and who is really in control??? u or the substance be it nicotine, caffeine , food, legal substances as in alcohol or prescription medications or illicit substances.

What it boils down to is BALANCE and with our society today sometimes it's really hard pressed to accomplish.

ps i quit smoking 3.5 years ago and yes the cravings r still there and if i give into the cravings i will be a goner once again to pick up a smoke which i find incredibly disgusting but have a tendency to date guys that smoke. So off to counselling I go to get a handle on that one! ARGHHHHHH!

I smoke and I exercise profusely….stupid huh? Seems that the more I smoke the more I go for walks.
I can’t stand being around smokers as it makes me smoke more.
Here’s something different, Scorp don’t smoke and yet she really doesn’t bitch and complain about smoking and it made me smoke less when I hung out with her………..someone please explain that to me!

^^^i dont think its stupid. Kudos to you. Nothing wrong with smokers being active and trying to keep their body weight down etc.

There are many people who try to have healthy lifestyles yet have drinking, drug or food addictions.

On a side note, what i find interesting, is when some people order a big mac, supersized fries and then their drink is a DIET coke... like that diet coke is going to help all the trans/saturated fat and calories your just ordered. lol

cascadian......i do agree with you on some of your points ...

BUT !!!!

what bugs me the most is the fact that smokers are constantly harping about exercise and fitness ... healthy body ... blah blah blah ... but they smoke .... this is the point i am trying to figure out .... how can you harp about the fitness if you smoke ?and me being an ex-smoker i know how i fell physically verses then and now as a non-smoker

I agree. It the same as people who claim to be vegetarians but wear clothes made from animal by products or use soap that has whale blubber in it or anti wrinkle cream which has Slug Slime in it.
People like to complain.

obviously quitting the smoking habit is the best way to help your health.

For some smokers though, exercise may help protect against lung cancer.
Smokers who work out have 35 % lower risk.
There are now studies which show that you may get protection from working out.

I have a co-worker who is an absolute health nut, no car, avid runner, vegetarian organic food only, very well educated. Was I surprized to run into her and see the cig in her hand.
She is a follower of GNM and does not believe cancer is caused by physical issues but rather by internal conflicts. So she justifies the smoking.

Sammy, good for you to realize the importance of staying away from the vice, I had quite for 16 years, had a puff on a friends and was up to a pack a day within a few weeks.

I have since quit again and have been smoke free for 5 years now, but have to be aware of my weakness.

Not sure why smokers are in denial about effects on health . Working out or not, you are poisoning your body.
I have never smoked but I have watched family members die from this habit. Totally heartbreaking.
Too bad ppl need a crutch to face lifes probs.

^^^but the same agrument could be used by the food we eat.
If your not eating organic those meats you buy are injected with hormones and antibiotics, and veggies are sprayed with chemicals.
Lets not forget about the toxic chemicals in the environment as well. Those cleaning products you use to clean your home, and the hairspray, perfumes that are used on our bodies are also poisoning your body.

All true Pucks but we are talking about smoking.
I have learned so much from a book called "You Staying Young"
It talks about all aspects of taking care of yourself . Please read it , I highly recommend it.
We owe it to our children to look after ourselves!
