| Would you date a NASCAR fan? Posted: 11/23/2007 9:24:14 AM | I have seen, in many profiles (men and women), where people say if you are a NASCAR fan then "move on", "next", "pass me by".......that sort of thing. WHY? I am a major NASCAR fan but it does not identify who I am. Apparantly some people believe if you are a fan you must be a tobacco chewing, beer drinking, redneck hick with no intelligence or couth. (Which is not true) Any opinions? | |

| Would you date a NASCAR fan? Posted: 11/23/2007 9:28:48 AM | Congratulations to Jimmie Johnson for winning his second championship. I am a Jeff Gordon fan but Johnson is his teammate so I wasn't too disappointed.
My fiance' was not a NASCAR fan at all when we met. Instead of being closed minded about it he watched a few races and actually got hooked. Only problem is........he likes a driver that is near the bottom of my list. Oh well......it makes it more fun on race day.

| Would you date a NASCAR fan? Posted: 11/23/2007 9:45:02 AM | Just find a female NASCAR fan. Then when you have sex, do it doggy style and you BOTH can watch the race!!!!

| Would you date a NASCAR fan? Posted: 11/23/2007 9:51:22 AM | | Although I'm not a fan of NASCAR, I definitely wouldn't limit my options by avoiding a woman who is. I don't need a mate who shares every interest I do, I don't want to date me, just someone compatible with me. | |

| Would you date a NASCAR fan? Posted: 11/23/2007 10:06:55 AM | For big sister.....and others who may not know.
NASCAR: National Association for Stock Car Auto Racing
Whereas it is not as popular as football, racing is pretty popular here in the U.S.

| Would you date a NASCAR fan? Posted: 11/23/2007 10:07:08 AM | | I am a huge NASCAR fan. And emphasize that on my profile, along with how I like to hunt and fish. Most guys that see my profile are intrigued that there are women out there that have those interests. I haven't had anyone comment on it being a bad thing. | |

| Would you date a NASCAR fan? Posted: 11/23/2007 10:09:37 AM | | Depends on who your driver is!!! Guess that means I'm a beer guzzling, tobacco spitting female nascar hick. Go Dale Jr. | |

| Would you date a NASCAR fan? Posted: 11/23/2007 10:12:23 AM | That is the most ridiculous qualifier! Nascar fans come from all walks of life. I grew up around drag racing myself, so I don't mind watching a race of any kind with a fan. I don't watch TV on my own, so I'm far from a fan.
You know these people wonder why they can't get a date or a response, and then you see things on their profile like no Nascar fans, no golfers, no dog lovers...sheesh!

| Would you date a NASCAR fan? Posted: 11/23/2007 10:31:08 AM | ....YES ....I would LOVE it!!!!....I have only seen the races from the television , but someday I hope to go to a real race....maybe Chicago....or the one in Illinois near St Louis MO which is closer to me...Being handicapped not sure how that will work...anyone know????????? ...I absolutely LOVE NASCAR....I follow 3 cars...Elliott Sadler #19....Carl Edwards #99 and #38 the M & M car.....but actually love the entire race...especially the wrecks when no one gets hurt...I believe it would be fun to watch it with a date....maybe even make some wild bets as to who will win.... | |

| Would you date a NASCAR fan? Posted: 11/23/2007 10:43:10 AM | maybe they've been burnt by someone who put NASCAR above all else..
yes, i'd date a NASCAR fan.. a star trek fan...or even a weiner schnitzel fan... as long as they didn't obsess over it and were fun blokes who had *some* things in common with me...a shared sense of humour can overcome many obstacles

| Would you date a NASCAR fan? Posted: 11/23/2007 10:43:18 AM | | I have to question the logic of watching a bunch of grown men driving around a track turning one way all day long. Let alone watching it. Experience has taught me that it is a big indicator that we are not going to have a lot in common. Nothing against them... we are just different sorts of folks. | |

| Would you date a NASCAR fan? Posted: 11/23/2007 10:48:12 AM | | Being a NASCAR fan certainly isn't a dealbreaker. However a lot of people that have NASCAR listed as one of their interests on their profile tend to have different interests than me. | |

| Would you date a NASCAR fan? Posted: 11/23/2007 10:49:10 AM | | Millions of dollars might just be an incentive. Jimmy Johnson won the championship with a purse of over 6 million dollars. I'd drive around in circles for days on end for that kinda pay. | |

| Would you date a NASCAR fan? Posted: 11/23/2007 10:51:56 AM | WTF? I'm female, fiftyfreakinfour years old, and I've followed "stock car racing"(NASCAR) off and on for years! (TV and radio) Thrown helmets??? I remember FOR REAL thrown punches in the infield LOL. I tell inquiring minds that want to know, my favorite sports to watch are the ones a blonde can understand;NASCAR,NHRA, And bullriding. Cindy O | |

| Would you date a NASCAR fan? Posted: 11/23/2007 11:17:52 AM | I am not a big fan of NASCAR fans. My idea of a meaningful conversation doesn't include "Whadda ya thinka Junior changin' teams?".
I am a major NASCAR fan but it does not identify who I am. Apparantly some people believe if you are a fan you must be a tobacco chewing, beer drinking, redneck hick with no intelligence or couth. (Which is not true) Now, granted, it is a tremendous disservice to many men and women to lump them into the above group. Wrestling fans are also put in a similar category and that is probably not fair also. I'm sure there are quite a few highly intelligent, articulate men and women who are NASCAR and wrestling fans. The problem is the stereotypical fan is the one that stays in our minds and colors our impressions of all fans. My suggestion would be, if you are either a NASCAR or wrestling fan, that you put it at the bottom of your interests list and be sure to have many other, more diverse, interests also listed. Is this fair? Hell, no. Is it going to keep happening? Hell, yes. Pass me a beer and tell me whose leadin' what lap?

| Would you date a NASCAR fan? Posted: 11/23/2007 11:19:20 AM | | i would definately date a NASCAR fan, I am a huge ryan newman fan...and gordon, but if he was a fan of #8, i would question his taste...lol I am kidding. | |

| Would you date a NASCAR fan? Posted: 11/23/2007 11:36:02 AM | I describe my degree of "fandom" I know that Jeff Gordon and Robby Gordon are NOT brothers, that Kurt Busch and Kyle Busch ARE, that Tony Stewart is NOT Martha's son. By I do not now, nor have I EVER, thought the final stanza to our National Anthem is "Gentlemen, start your engines!" Cindy O | |

| Would you date a NASCAR fan? Posted: 11/23/2007 12:32:09 PM | | ....and just for the record and those who do not know.....there is a lot more to racing than just going around and around in circles. There is a lot of strategy involved...it is not just who is the fastest. The drivers have friends and teammates who "help" them on the track (and those that hurt). Each track is different and calls for different techniques and......I could go on and on but I won't. Just know that it really is more than just driving in circles and having wrecks. | |

| Would you date a NASCAR fan? Posted: 11/23/2007 2:11:08 PM | I think the issue with NASCAR is that people seem to either really love it or really hate it. If you really love it---you probably want to watch all the races and possibly have decorated your TV room. If you really hate it--you definitely do not want it always playing on the TV and memorabilia all over the house.
It's not just NASCAR either. I know a lot of people who won't date major fans of any sport...especially sports where being a fan primarily involves watching the sport on television.
Don't get offended ...just find someone else.
