| Success with personality test? Posted: 11/25/2007 6:16:56 PM | Curious to know if you have had success with the POF personality test?
Success stories?
Did your match meet your expectations?
Did they seem like the personality test profile for your match?

| Success with personality test? Posted: 11/25/2007 9:43:44 PM | You know, I tried messaging a few of the people who it came up with as "ideal personality matches" and the responses I got back weren't bad, but ultimately it fizzled out.
I think it's as good a place as any to start if you're looking to actively send out messages to people.

| Success with personality test? Posted: 11/25/2007 10:03:49 PM | | I think personality tests can be quite useful. I don't know if I trust the one here at PoF, because it gave me different results than any other, similar test I've taken. I do know that absolutely no one I have emailed with a high (90%+) compatibility score has ever replied to me. | |

| Success with personality test? Posted: 11/25/2007 10:14:06 PM | Grace Unto You And Peace,
I have had success and failure with the personality inventory offered here at POF.
Success because it helped me focus on that which comes natural and it persuaded me not to try to "put on the agony, put on the style."
I have researched the broader Myers-Briggs Inventory and have become a member of the association which does research in this field. No I am not a professional, just a very interested looky-lue.
The odds of my finding someone are one chance out of two hundred women in my age group. A lot of people.
I got a e-note from a woman who was paired with me at 98% compatible by the POF. She wrote, "You're too weird." So I thanked her and wished her luck. People do what people do. On one hand it is nice to come to the age of 60 and finally know what you want. But how you say it, is one of the things which Mohandas Gandhi quipped on...you can say things in such a way so that you get your meaning across, but do not hurt the "other." What a tight rope wire balancing job. I haven't been able to not fall off once in a while, for sure.
So I look for Ms Correct in all the good inventories instead of looking for Ms Right in all the Good Bars.
And if it doesn't happen, that is alright also. There are other things which I do to occupy my time. Things which give meaning to my life. And on second glance, I think I would continue to do them even if coupled. Because, hopefully, she would be doing those things also.

| Success with personality test? Posted: 11/26/2007 4:28:51 AM | Well, I know that the test result for me personally (INTJ) nailed it.
I am starting to think that:
1. this is a tough dating site for men because men way outnumber women here 2 to 1? 3 to 1? 2. many women in my age group still are looking for their alpha males.
I notice that many of the same women are still popping up after being here for several years, so apparently they haven't been able to make up their minds or found the one they want.
Perhaps a lot of aging baby boomers are destined to live the rest of their lives alone?

| Success with personality test? Posted: 11/26/2007 4:42:35 AM | I dont see how it could be very acurate. the questions I didnt understand, I had to answer anyway. although if I have understood 70% of the questions and and answered corectly. my 100% matches could be at best 70% If I feel the same that day as I did at test time and the rest ? well , let us pray. | |

| Success with personality test? Posted: 11/26/2007 4:58:15 AM | Personalities might match, but your read their profiles and you know you are not a match...I'm a non smoker and short I get matched up with women who smoke and are looking for a tall male and like to party, well that is far from a match ...The lady I am dating now, I'm not in her personality matches but she is very high on mine... | |

| Success with personality test? Posted: 11/26/2007 5:12:54 AM | | I don't have a personality, so I didn't take the test. I think I also missed class that day. Love, Titus | |

| Success with personality test? Posted: 11/26/2007 5:31:17 AM | Well, I did the test thing as well, but this machine keeps pairing me rather highly with 20ish young men who think they are god's gift! Fine if that is what I was looking for, but not for me.
I have been searching for some way to delete my answer and maybe start again, but so far no luck.
Did message a couple of men here who scored highly on my list but they didn't reply. Does that say more about me or them?
