| What's the most or least you've ever spent on FIRST date? Posted: 11/27/2007 10:36:12 AM | The most I've ever spent was about two grand. I'd been chasen after this little number that I thought had no interest with me, but I couldn't resist. She worked in the industry (movies) and commanded a lot of attention. Well, I decided to go for it and ask her out. She told me that would depend on what we'd do. I told her dinner, comedy club, then maybe a bonfire on the beach with a bottle of something or something -- was testin' the waters with that, but worked; she was game. So I picked her up and we're sitting grabbing a bite when a buddy that I hadn't seen in awhile comes over and throws down Duran-Duran tickets -- in Vegas -- hours away by car (in LA). Her and I just melted knowing we couldn't use them. That's when my mind kicked into over drive, flipped open my phone and got us airfare (roundtrip for both, $900 sittin' first class -- you only live once, right?). Landed in NV and caught the show just in the nick of time. We were so close Simon's sweat was hitting us while bouncing around on the stage; the seats just couldn't be better. After the show, we hit the stripe and had a made some laughes before winding up at the Ritz which I never expected. We dated awhile then our work drove a wedge between us. We still cheerish that night from time to time when we catch up.
NOW THE CHEAPEST...
Was set up on a blind date when in thumped Brutis. She wasn't large or big, just one mean mother%ucker; could bend steel with her look. I was sippin' on an iced' tea and the waiter hustled over and tipped me off that SHE was my date -- he's my buddie's little brother that knew what I was there for. he told me to scoot out the back via the kitchen and don't worry about the tea. I reached into my pocket and all I had was a buck and two cents; I gave it to him. He pushed me and said from one soldier to another, "run, get outta here before she sees you or you'll need this to buy a bandaid or two once she's through with ya." I laughed so hard about what he said and his frightened state I was crying when I was pulled over for weaving and crossing the shouder line. I shared the story with the cop and he started laughing so hard at me laughing while I was telling the story he started hystertically laughing. We're still friends today thanks to Brustis.

| What's the most or least you've ever spent on FIRST date? Posted: 11/27/2007 11:10:49 AM | I spent about 350 for me. Got tickets for a flight - Denver of all places. Met a young lady there spent the weekend checking out the town and partying. Monday morning flew back to Beer City.
Cheapest? A cup of coffee at the lakefront followed by a ride on the motorcycle. Ended up on the beach in the middle of the afternoon, almost got busted by a Dad with his kids looking for driftwood!

From experience having a good time doesnt actually cost much if anything if you really dig who your with :)........

| What's the most or least you've ever spent on FIRST date? Posted: 11/27/2007 4:07:06 PM | The least? About $5, I guess. That was for her coffee and my water at Starbucks. The most? About $50 for dinner. This lady was nice, and she had a good career, and most likely made more than I did. She liked to eat, too...getting an appetizer and dessert, in addition to her meal. I figure that $50 wasn't going to break me...although there have been times (as a single dad who always pays child support) that $50 would be the margin in my bank account.
I think first dates need to be low-key and low-pressure, and let you decide if you want to date again, and then you can figure it all out.
"She worked in the industry (movies) and commanded a lot of attention. Well, I decided to go for it and ask her out. She told me that would depend on what we'd do"
I know a lot of these threads turn into "bash the OP", and that's not where this is going. My comment is...if spending $2000 didn't break your bank, and take money away from something else you needed, more power to you. But, for me...that sounds like the kind of woman I would NOT want to have anything to do with, no matter how picture-perfect she might be.

Posted: 11/27/2007 4:41:14 PM | | I think if I spent $2000 on someone on a first date, either way it would be the same outcome as if I spent $50 on a date. Doesnt matter how much you spend or don't as long as you show the lady a good time (not the Sex good time that is).

Personally I always suggest coffee or a meal and I carry enough money to cover my own if it came down to that - which it has a couple of times in the past.

| What's the most or least you've ever spent on FIRST date? Posted: 11/27/2007 7:16:49 PM | well, i never spent much on dates, most ever was about $60, he bought one thing, i bought another, stuff like that.
but i have been once on a date w a guy that cost me money by not letting me go to work when i had a regular come in just for me on a sat night. i was strong on being good until i had a few martinis. then he passed out on the bed when we got home.
made a point to never see him again, never picked up the phone again. bad influence.
i dont ask much of a man, but dont mess w my livelihood and make me get in financial trouble. i had signed my rent check and was low on it, so i had to work, and he knew it, and his whole thing was about what he wanted right then and not what i needed to take care of first. so we got home, i was buzzed, he passed out on the bed, drank too much, i waited 30 min to sober up a bit and left.
got my overdraft charges and all that, took me a week to be back afloat.
it was enough to tell me he was bad news. as the sticker says.. if i want trouble, i can find it on my own, dont need a guy to nudge me to self destruct.
got even more pissed when everyone at work eas raving how it was the best saturday in 6mo, how everyone left w at least $500, which means i would have made a grand most likely.
i also went on a date once where the guy insisted we have lunch. just so happened i was flat broke that day, i said u know what, i=lets give it a couple days, he insisted, no, its ok, lemme buy u lunch, i insist.
normally, i dont care who it is, i have to have my $$$ w me. i dont assume, i observe and assess better that way, for future dates or getthehellaway.
but this one was around the corner from my house, so i said what the hell. we ended up sharing smthg and i ended up sharing the bill too, **stard made me spend my last ten backs i had to my name.
then he emails me the next day asking me out again, saying how he wasnt 'feeling good' yesterday.
yeah right. like that date wasnt red flag enough to say no way, hey???

| What's the most or least you've ever spent on FIRST date? Posted: 2/2/2008 2:09:13 PM | For me it would probably be $300..... but I was going to spend close to a grand once.... Lucky for me we decided to do something different cause we went on one date and decided to just be friends after that.
The cheapest would be nothing..... Went on a coffee date where she insisted on paying. I am not one who normally subscribes to having the woman pay but I also learned never to argue with a woman on a first date..... you won't get a second one LOL

| What's the most or least you've ever spent on FIRST date? Posted: 2/2/2008 2:47:55 PM | Once a Friday night dinner date became an entire weekend. A couple hotel rooms, concert tickets, meals, drinks, and more drinks, and by Sunday night I'd gone through about $800. The next week she said her work was transferring her to Rhode Island- who the hell moves to Rhode Island?- so I never saw her again. But it was a great weekend; kinda my "live like a rock star" moment. Cheapest was when I was supposed to take a gal to dinner, she called and said she'd had a really bad day and didn't want to deal with people so "could we just hang out at your place" "aaah... O.K." "Great! I can pick up beer on the way if you want?" "Aaaah...O.K." "And sorry for changing plans. We can order a pizza when I get there, my treat." " Aaaah.....O.K." I think I made out alright on that one

| What's the most or least you've ever spent on FIRST date? Posted: 2/3/2008 1:25:57 AM | Flew to Australia to chill with a girl for a month. Great time, and would have stayed if there was a HUGE love connection, but alas, I ended up returning. That was 11 years ago when meeting someoen from the internet was pretty new. LOL I got to customs in Aussie and they asked me where I was staying. I said "um I don't know I'm meeting a girl here and staying at her place" They weren't quite sure WHAT to make of that. LOL
Cheapest was this. Met a girl from here and we took our dogs for a walk. They are both pugs, but they just didn't get along, so they just kinda kept their distance. My guy was just little but her dog had been bitten by another one and was a bit gun shy. Poor little guy. :)
It was a nice time though!

| What's the most or least you've ever spent on FIRST date? Posted: 2/3/2008 1:32:06 AM | The most I've ever spent on a first date was for a woman I was EXTREMELY attracted to. I spent 100 canadian dollars. We went to a nice restaurant and I rented out a dance hall for us alone.
The cheapest? I payed nothing. The girl told me straight out that our first date she was paying for everything. Who am I to question the word of a woman? ^_^

| What's the most or least you've ever spent on FIRST date? Posted: 2/3/2008 4:53:05 AM | Msot expenisive on a first date. The first girl I ever went nuts for Jessica back in 2000. I spent over $100 on her at the palisades mall. Took her to an imax movie, went on a 3D ride. Fridays for food and drink and finished with Dave and Busters. And I did not get anything out of it. It was the alst time I asaw her and she slept over my house in my room. And no I did not get any of anything! She used to give me handjobs and blow jobs in my doorm room. the second I treat her like a lady and buy her dinner and spend money I get nothing. Sometimes it pays to be a cheap date.
The least was Nothing. Witht he exception of Gas And a toll. That was my first date with my current girlfriend she made me dinner and it was wonderful.

| What's the most or least you've ever spent on FIRST date? Posted: 2/3/2008 11:52:13 AM | Hmm, I don't think I have spent much on a first date. As far as what guys have spent on me on first dates... tons. Average is usually around 200 bucks. The last one was around $1000 but he was just obnoxious. I make it clear it doesn't impress me but if they wanna spend it, who am I to stop them?? | |
