Hey did anyone see it yet, I'm sure so since it broke box ofc records, anyway is it worth seeing? does it live up to the hype? It looks good, but I'd lie a few opinions. feel free to give away plot points. I don't care if I know before I see it.

I just saw the movie today at 5:10 p.m.

I wasn't impressed. Take out Will Smith, and this would have been just another horror movie, albeit a few more special effects than usual.

I guess I expected more. (I won't give it away before anyone sees it).

It was okay. It did break some records, but I think any movie about things that could potentially happen as a result of our curiosity and how far we can push nature/technology will be big sellers. So Will Smith was just the key in this movie, most of it was just him and his dog. It made me shudder and think about all the things that can, will, and are happening around the world at this very instance. We can not go head to head with nature and win, she will eventually take all back. Like The Day After Tomorrow is another of those movies. People are curious-its our downfall. Hope I didn't spoil the movie for anyone.

There really isn't much to spoil. After years of anticipation that they would remake The Omega Man... we get 28 Days Later Part III with the former Fresh Prince?

I was disappointed. (spoiler, don't read if you want to watch)

After 1002 days of being... um, lonely? Will gets rescued by a hot chick wearing a tight t-shirt and doesn't even get the least bit excited?

(No Omega Boner for the Omega Man? I don't think so.)

This was crying for a line like "It looks like I am the last guy and you are the last girl... so let's get jiggy with it!"

The mindless albino CGI zombies paled in comparison with the Johnny Winter Luddites from the cheesy Heston version. At least they had personality!

Half the time it was so dark that you couldn't see what was going on.. but then, maybe that was a good thing? The movie started out great, then just devolved into a brainless variation of the other movies like Resident Evil and 28 Days. There could have been so much more. I was sort of hoping for a hint of the original story by Richard Mathison that really packed a punch at the end.

I think Will Smith was upstaged by the dog.... he gave a better performance.

No truth to the rumor that Charlton Heston played a cameo as a gun toting zombie.

Its a poor re-make of The Omega Man from ( I think ) 1974 with Chuck Heston, which in turn was a remake of a sixties movie starring ( i think?!) Vincent Price , but the name escapes me

.......... still better than Fred Claus , though ...

Like the last poster said, it was definitely an Omega Man rip off...but I still thought Fred Clause was better.

The mutated zombie things were not very realistic. And why were humans, rats and dogs the only animals effected by the infection? Why not the dear and the lions or even birds? That would have made for a way more cool movie I think.

I also thought there should have been some kind of "more intelligent" interaction between Will and the "smart" mutant. Once Will Smith realized that there was at least one leader of them, it would have made for a more unpredictable plot to see a bit more one on one with them. Perhaps an attempted treaty between them or even Will Smith capturing the big lug....SOMETHING! But instead, it was the same Ole', same Ole' that you see in every other zombie flick.

it seems like most of the movies out there really byte. I mean, why should i spend $10 (more or less depending on where you go) on a ticket to watch crap.

What's sad is there are people out there who even say "this movie sucks so bad, it's not even worth downloading"

They did a good modernization of the book. There have been quite a few complaints i have heard about it being boring but i did not think so. I only paid $4 to see it so its not like i felt robbed. There are alot worse movies out at the theater. I'm just glad that...

Spoilers...

Spoilers...

Spoilers .....

I'm glad that they did not change it and make Will Smith live in the movie just because he never dies in movies. He died in the book so at least keep it like that. I would have prefered an ending where he was the last human alive and the human race ended with him, but they went with the semi happy ending. Not the best movie but not overall awful.

Slightly off topic , but why are there so many awful "re-makes" of classic movies these days ?? I cant think of one that was better than the original .. Has the ideas bin for new movies dried up ? and why are so many "comedies " just not funny ?!

getting old, I guess !!!

"Walk Hard" is supposed to be pretty funny. Our local movie critic gave it 3 and a half stars out of 4 stars, and he has no sense of humor whatsoever. I prefer watching movies at home, so I'll just wait till it comes out on DVD. It's a shame movies cost so much to see, but it makes me really picky about what I spend my money on. I probably don't got to the theater more than once a year.

Oh dear, this doesn't look very encouraging so far.

I loved the book from years back and the trailer looked good so I was hoping this would be a great film.

It doesn't come out over here until Boxing Day, but after all these comments I will probably just wait until it comes out on video.

It was ok till the end. With the lady trying to explain why she knew something was there and being directed to go here and there by God. I thought I was watching The Stand near the end. Very weak if you ask me, she basically had him killed with what she didn't do. sigh....

The movie was definately worth the 10.00, but it didnt really do much credit to the original
story by Richard Matheson, which was a really good story. Anymore than the
other two movies based on the book did. I also thought Will Smith was a bad choice
for the lead.

Not much for gun goofs. They even got the right reticle for the ACOG.

Why did he "spray and pray" at the infected when he REALLY needed to conserve ammo, but wouldn't take a clear shot at the deer or the lion eating it? (BTW: Lion males kill cubs on sight. They ain't the nurturing type. They kill cubs so the lioness will go into heat again so THEY can mate with her.)

Grenades don't make big "wet" fireballs like a gasoline fire. It's just smoke and a few sparks.

Personally, I liked the movie a lot. If it's available on HD I'll get it when it's released for sale. I love SHTF/TEOTWAWKI movies. (S*** Hits The Fan/The End Of The World As We Know It). It was neat to see the infected mimicking his booby trap, and the scene with his dog was really hard for me to watch.

Sweeney Todd may get critical acclaim, but it's being flatly rejected by viewers in my town. It's already down to two screenings a day. I've had a cup of coffee last longer than this movie's time in the theaters.

I don’t care what critics or coffee drinkers in Michigan think. It’s bloody, gritty and disturbing (that was my underwear after I saw it, but the same applies to “Sweeny Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street”, too ). I adored it and found it ghoulishly delightful. I love Tim Burton; and Depp and Rickman, too. Two thumbs up from Die Frau.

I personally enjoyed it.

Wouldn't rank amidst my favorites, but it's definitely worth another watch or two.

Never saw the original two, nor read the book though, so I guess I have no frame of reference to say whether it was bad 'compared' to something else.

I got to watch it with 6 other guys, so we all had ranging opinions on it, and we went out to eat and talked about it some more.

I kind of got the idea that the general consensus (Among that group of guys) was that it was worth a watch.

I wouldn't mind seeing Sweeney Todd either, but I think that's one I'd rather wait to see when it comes out on DVD/VHS.

This is yet another stupid zombie movie. Where you become a zombie, when the zombie bites you.

It seems like the age of vampire movies is over. Zombie movies now take the cake for an attempt to terrorize the audience. And they do a very bad job.

Man bring back the old school vampire movies. They were good.

I hated this movie. Didn't like it. Pointless and senseless.

I saw this yesterday - best movie of the year in my opinion. Scariest movie I've been to in awhile because rather than being gory, it was disturbing. It was disturbing because it was plausible...

from the premise of the infection - rabies
to the results on the body - light sensitive
to the anger resulting - side effect of rabidity
to the fact that screwing with viruses can always be dynamically dangerous - they mutate and evolve
to the concept that no one in the movie was portrayed as a superhero incapable of making mistakes or getting hurt
to the utter desolation and sadness
....
to making you realize just how vulnerable you are in your home. We really have nothing between us and irrationality other than glass windows and doors with simple locks and keys. If we ever had to "defend" ourselves from our homes, we'd be up a creek without a paddle.

Sometimes premises that seem the least plausible really are the most believable.

At the end of this movie, not a word was spoken as the people got up to leave the theater.

For those of you who thought Will Smith should have been hot for the "hot chick" that rescued him? (1) She was not hot. (2) She was a mom. (3) He was not the least bit impressed at her spouting God....those of you who think the whole concept of the movie was to turn it into a religious experience "missed the point".

The "zombies" first of all were not zombies. Nor were they mindless. Nor were they ever presented as being mindless. Perhaps some of you should look up "rabies"....and then observe the actions of a rabid dog. ..........Perhaps you should also look up what happens to you when you get BITTEN by a rabid dog. That is, IF you happen to SURVIVE the bite........

And why were humans, rats and dogs the only animals effected by the infection? Why not the dear and the lions or even birds?

Ask yourself why only humans and monkeys can get aids?

Most of the movie was good up to 3/4 and the last 1/4 was not original. The visuals and some one liners were good. The previews were better than the actual film. It was a cheap thrill for $10. I got the novel as a holiday gift, so I can compare with the movie.

Out of the three versions done:

1. Last Man On Earth (Vincent Price)
2. Omaga Man (Charlton Heston)
3. I Am Legend (Will Smith)

I'd have to say that I Am Legend is the best adaptation. It's also good because Smith isn't being such a ham in this one. There is actual substance to his work in this film. It's a rare thing for him to have that quality in his films. The one he did before this one was well done too. Maybe he's finally getting the knack of acting like a real actor should.
