Posted: 12/17/2007 3:12:38 PM | There was a few threads about "peple viewing profile and not contacting" so I wonder.
Do you actively run searches to view profiles or just see who viewed you and click back on the ones you like to see what is there in their profile?
I have to admit I do not search at all. Only ever click on profiles of the people that have viewed mine. I think the searches do not give enough options, practical options.
If you do run a search you are presented with a line of small photos, to check where everyone is from, if they have kids, if they smoke etc you have to click on those small photos and see the profile at which point they see you viewed them and can come with "You viewed me but did not email - why?"
And very ofthen as much as we may like the photo, only viewing the profiles shows the person as being unsuitable so... keep on clicking.
So, do you run searches or just click back on the ones that viewed you?
Do you make first contact or wait to be contacted?
How suitable do you find the "your matches" list? Mine normally make me run for prozac...sorry, brutal truth :-( | |

Usually wait but have made first contact.
How suitable do you find the "your matches" list? Mine normally make me run for prozac...sorry, brutal truth :-(

Normally click on someone as the first attraction (photo of course) is obvious, then seeing the profile and realising "not suitable" (you can not know that without viewing the profile) I am frankly surprised how many people get upset about "you viewd me and never contacted".
I also click on all posters profiles....

i used to send out lots of messages but hardly got any replies.
i have recieved a few first contacts and i have allways replied but after a while they just dont appear interested.
i have never followed up the " matches" bits, no matter if some one is a match or not it still doesnt guarantee any form of contact.
i have virtually given up with the site now, i have changed my profile too from a full, long profile to very little now........................lol | |

Bit annoying to send messages and get no mail, esp when from someone that keep seeing on the who has viewed me section repeatedly :) | |

Posted: 12/18/2007 9:14:20 AM | 97ron, you might have some thing there, when i see that a woman has looked at my profile and then made no effort to contact me i have assumed that she had checked me out and decided i wasnt right for her.........now i see.......its the women folks` master plan, they look at our profiles hoping we check our " who viewed me " section , see they have checked us out hoping for us to then contact them..........brilliant.

on topic... tend to go on the viewed me section and click, but if i view a profile and see 'something nice' as near by, i might check that too. O also make contact if i read a quirky profile... not for the wnat of a realtionship... bleugh... lol but they may seem like a good laugh to chat too.... | |

I have the viewing thing turned off so no-one knows I'm snooping, got fed up with the why did you look and not contact me messages. | |

The search feature is good in parts but lacks somewhat as a whole, then again it might not be the search features fault

Indeed, and you have to wonder what level of reality these people inhabit.
I mean, seriously, who in their right mind contacts everyone whose profile they have viewed?

I would probably have to say 'not very', but I've said it before and I'll say it again - you can't judge people accurately from a page on here and a few dodgy pics. The best matches are made in the most unlikeliest of places. It's about contrast, and sparks. Not about picking a made to match partner off the shelf from a list of requirements.

Personally I wait as I'm not interested in contacting people willy nilly. You women have it far too easy on here, just sitting back and (if the forums are anything to go by) being swamped with hundreds of mails every week from aspiring suitors. I love women who are willing to put some of the effort in and make a first move, I find it an appealling/attractive quality.
