People will be having sex with robots by 2050, an artificial intelligence expert has predicted.
Is this robot your type?David Levy's book Love And Sex With Robots: The Evolution Of Human-Robot Relationships claims robots will become so lifelike that they will be hard to distinguish from real people.
The 62-year-old, also a chess master, writes in his book: "Great sex on tap for everyone, 24/7. What's not to like?"
Robot technology is advancing hugely across the world, with Japan in particular making great strides towards robots which can help out in homes or hospitals.
Mr Levy believes that the people most likely to use a robot for sex are those who are too ugly or too isolated to find human romance.
He said: "They're lonely, they're miserable. I think society will be a much better place when they have an alternative that satisfies them without doing any harm to other people."
Could or would you ever be in the position that having sex with a robot is the only option?
Although BOB's have been about for years, they are not the same as a fully fledged robot are they? | |

So at least with a robot, it sounds like it will have mechanisms to respond and do stuff.
At least the sheep would be safe for a while.

Personally its not for me, but I don't see why not.... Especially as you wouoold probably be able to get them in an accurate replica of your favorite film\pop star so why not..... For some it would be a way of furfilling that fantaasy.

Interesting point made aboot the sex aids for him and her. Rabbits and the like have become more mainstream, but dolls and the like remain in the world of seediness. | |

I can now see my ex-wife's behaviour in the sack was definately mechanical and automatic, and I suspect it was defined by some sort of algortithm given the repetetive boring nature of the activity!
