Posted: 1/4/2008 4:31:03 PM | I am 21 years old, and have never been on a date. I don't know if I am ugly or too shy, or just don't get out enough. I don't drink...any suggestions for places to meet guys besides the bar??
People say I look much younger than I actually am........
But I am wondering, if I ever do find a guy who wants to go out with me, will it weird him out that I am 21 but have NO experience?? | |

The girl before that was 19 and a virgin. No problems.
The relationships didn't end for any reason related. 1 ended because I moved. The other ended because she moved. We didn't want long distance relationships.
There's tons of places. My first suggestion is simply going out and doing what YOU enjoy doing. Like concerts? Bump into a guy "Oh, excuse me, hey you have nice eyes." Enjoy reading, go to the library. Ask a cute guy if he recommends anything specific, what's his favorite author. In school? Talk to a guy in class. Go out to lunch by yourself and flirt with someone there. Just smile at someone and see if he walks over, or smiles back.
The last 2 girls I were wth were both virgins. It didn't bother me at all. I don't believe anyone would really be bothered, unless their sole purpose of being with you was sex. Then perhaps they'd be dsappointed. But is that the type of guy you really want to be with?

The previous poster had good ideas of going places where you like to go and just practice. Talk to a guy, start a conversation and don't worry about the ending, just get practice. It will get easier with time and you will also find attributes you like and don't like which will help you choose a good mate later.
At your age you will find a lot of guys out for the hunt and it will freak them out that you are a virgin or it will make it a bigger challenge because they want to be "the one" to deflower you that is. The good thing is they have short attention spans and if they don't get it quickly they will be gone.
I think doing this will help you bring up your self esteem a bit which seems a little low because you haven't done this dating thing before. Just do it and it will be easier. The sex thing can wait until YOU are ready not when some testosterone charged kid thinks you are ready.

Coffee shop, library, NASCAR races. Anywhere you want to go. Just smile at guys, and one will come over and chat you up.

The number of times I've heard a woman say that, from guys who wanted to get her into bed....Sounds like you're meeting a lot of guys already.

No. It would be weird if you find a guy who doesn't want a "wham, bam, thank you ma'am", but that's about all. Just don't expect for the guy to say it's weird, unless you say you don't want to sleep with him right away. | |
