| How many times have you been called 'THE ONE'?
Posted: 1/6/2008 8:06:34 AM | In your dating experience, how many times have you been told you are 'The One' or felt you have met 'The One'?
I would love to hear your experiences on finding 'The One'. I know most people date hoping they have finally met their match, but how many times have you actually thought he/she was it?
Usually for me, I date with the hopes that he will be the last date for the rest of my life, but the hopes are not usually set that high so early on in the game.
How common is it to believe that your date is the one? | |

Women seem to think that if they say things like that they can get in my jeans .. I am so tired of feeling like a piece of meat! They think just because I'm so damn good looking and have it so going on that I can be tricked in to having sex. Well not anymore!

Posted: 1/6/2008 8:42:23 AM | Well, both times I have heard it (and thought it myself) were in long term relationships. And... both of them cheated on me, so I personally don't put much stock in things like that anymore.
Then again, on the other end, I have heard a couple of friends dub their guys "The One", and all but one of them are married to those guys now.
So, while I don't believe in it for me, I think it can certainly work for others. However, I think it would make me especially wary to hear that from someone very early on. Was that clear as mud? | |

It took her that long? She must be really slow. I've had women tell me that five minutes after meeting me.
Especially all those sweet ladies in Nigeria that can't seem to get enough of me though Yahoo Messenger. Five minutes after starting our first chat they express their undying love for me and their desire to move to the States and spend the rest of their lives with me. Can you imagine that?
I know I'm not as good looking as you, Belly, and probably don't get near the amount of sex that you do, but I know how you feel. At least they could buy me a cup of coffee first.

last thing I need is another stalker.

I, like others, have been told that "I'm the one" on more than one occasion & I couldn't run fast enough... there have been a few men in my life that I have stayed by (you know, an exclusive dating relationship) in order to determine if he was the "one" & it was not always me who ended it before I could make that decision completely...
At this point in the relationship with my current guy, I believe that he most definitely is the "one" with whom I wish to share my life & your question made me consider if this is truely the case & I can now say, yes, he is... thank you for posting this...

OK what about guys who say this then???? I have never told a man he is "the one" because I have never felt that way about any man.
I have only chatted with guys who end up telling me in the FIRST IM that I am "the one" for them......I ask them how can that be when they havent even met me in person and dont actually know me but they still insist.....second IM I always am asked "so do you miss me?" How can u miss someone youve never met????? Geesh, some people are just too weird. | |

Posted: 1/6/2008 11:26:23 AM | hmmm interesting question. I have had only one guy call me 'the one', although I assume my ex-husband thought I was "the one" way back then.
I secretly hold the desire that there is 'the one' out there somewhere for me, I just don't know who he is yet. I hope he doesn't think that I'm a stalker though, or bi-polar, although if I am crazy about him enough to call him 'the one', I just might be crazy. Sigh.

I look at it this way; guys tend to fall in love fast but also get bored fast. So what he says in the first six months of dating pretty much means nil. It's if he can still spew loving words at you after having been with you for years, having had to spend hours babysitting your schizophrenic uncle, having to tell you you look nice when you're bloated and menstruating and zit-covered. If he can do that stuff and still say, "You're the One, I never felt like this before", then maybe he's a keeper. Maybe. | |
