| the NEW YORK football GIANTS at the DALLAS COWBOYS Posted: 1/6/2008 3:52:31 PM | | obviously im a giants fan but i am optimistic about the possibilities this year. the giants are going to be underdogs for the rest of the season but momentum is in our favor. the cowboys are stumbling into the playoffs and romo is as suspect as eli is to most people. the giants can win it all this year, and they are playing better football the last two games then they have played all year. cowboys are done, easy money for gamblers. | |

| the NEW YORK football GIANTS at the DALLAS COWBOYS Posted: 1/6/2008 6:18:54 PM | The Giants have the talent and heart to beat the Cowboys!
Maybe the 3rd time is the charm as Strahan said today after the game. I have never been a big fan 0f Manning, but I have to say he was patient today. If he plays that way next week...

| the NEW YORK football GIANTS at the DALLAS COWBOYS Posted: 1/9/2008 10:25:27 PM | Right now Romo is south of the border eating some tacos and drinking margaritas with girl pal Jessica Simpson. You know she's bad luck, so I pick Giants too.
Giants 27 Cowboys 17

| the NEW YORK football GIANTS at the DALLAS COWBOYS Posted: 1/10/2008 5:00:03 AM | Just read that TO is not practicing and his status is unsure for Sunday. I imagine he'll play despite his injury, but if he isn't at least 80+ percent, I think the Giants stand a good chance of winning.
I guess I'll take the Giants regardless because I think momentum is on their side, but I think it will be a close game. Everything hinges on Eli and whether he can keep his composure.

| the NEW YORK football GIANTS at the DALLAS COWBOYS Posted: 1/10/2008 8:39:19 AM | I hope some of you's are just kidding that Romo is still down in Mexico with his little honey on the Wednesday before a game in the second round of the playoffs. Boy have times ever changed. Vince Lombardi would roll over in his grave. If that's true, i don't get it at all. After this weekend, he may have all the time in the world to go to mexico and stay there right thru to pre-season. | |

What season was this?
The cowboys waxed that behind twice and they will do it again. You've had the Lambeau mystic, curse of the bambino and they've ALL been broken and so will the curse of the " blonde haired celebrity"

Come on, you know the cowboys and Gmen were playing under two different circumstances.
Fact is the cowboys have the giants number. I remember the year Tenessee went to the superbowl, they beat the Jags twice that season and the Jags only had two losses they whole season. Then the titans beat them that third game.
It's all about match ups and the Giants don't match up with the cowboys at all. Especially when you look at the WR/DB matchups.

Should I get the violin?
Are you kidding me? What your saying is the better team of the season always wins in the playoffs? Check history! Dallas lost 10 to 6 playing a better team the Eagles?
And you say circumstances also hmmmm The Pats played Miami Jets and buffalo all two games each to get there perfect season. Now that is circumstances

Just look at history. If a team sweeps a team in the season, the same team usually comes out on top in the playoffs.
Also, try reading my WHOLE posts. That's not all I based my post on. I also said the Giants do not match up to well with Dallas. Especially in the secondary and that's going to be one of the main reasons the cowboys win.

You said "Just look at history. If a team sweeps a team in the season, the same team usually comes out on top in the playoffs".
We will just see Sunday and either way it will be a good game. Its just my guess and I do not have a crystal ball. Giants are hot and in motion and playing better.
Scouting report: Giants have what it takes to beat Dallas in Round 3 By Pat Kirwan | NFL.com
New York is hoping to achieve something that has already happened six times in NFL history -- beat an opponent in the playoffs after being swept by that team in the regular season. For many teams, the extra burden of doing that on the road might be too much to ask, but the Giants have won eight consecutive road games and will be ready to play.
The Cowboys are the No. 1 seed in the NFC, but two of their three losses came at home this season. They have not looked sharp down the stretch, with Tony Romo only throwing one touchdown and the team averaging just 12 points in the last three games. The health and availability of receiver Terrell Owens is still up in the air. Without him, it becomes a level playing field for the Giants.
» Tony Romo has only thrown one touchdown in the last three games with five sacks and five interceptions. » Terrell Owens scored what proved to be the margin of victory in both Dallas wins over New York this season, but he might not play. » The Giants had five drives against Dallas this season of more than 10 plays. » The Giants rushed 49 times for 230 yards and three touchdowns in the two games against the Cowboys. » Brandon Jacobs has 88 touches (22 a game) for 472 yards and five touchdowns in the last four weeks.
I will go against all logic, even though the home teams on divisional playoff weekend are 14-6 in the last five years. New York has the pass rush, the running game and a hot quarterback who can turn the first two losses against Dallas into the experience needed to win a close game. Giants 24, Dallas 21. The deciding factor for me was Dallas' last home game against the Eagles that it lost, 10-6, against a Philadelphia defense built like New York's.

| the NEW YORK football GIANTS at the DALLAS COWBOYS Posted: 1/10/2008 4:22:49 PM | I just don't see it happening 17
The only team that has a chance to beat dallas got beat by NY last week. The Giants did rush the bowl all over the cowboys but in the end the boys still had more points on the scoreboard.
I know this has the makings of a good game on paper but I honestly see a blowout.

That doesn't mean a thing. I know you have more sense than that. It's all about MATCH UPS. By your logic the Golden State Warriors should have won the NBA title because they beat the best team in the league in the first round.
It's all about match ups in the nfl.

| the NEW YORK football GIANTS at the DALLAS COWBOYS Posted: 1/10/2008 4:58:14 PM | | i agree 17 when i read that statement i laughed and scatched my head at the same time. it is true that the giants are playing better at this point than they have all season. on the other hand the boys are playing thier worst. we will see sunday. mags has got the cowboys, got it. | |

| the NEW YORK football GIANTS at the DALLAS COWBOYS Posted: 1/10/2008 5:08:11 PM | Stats that matter
Week 1 - Dallas 45 New York 35
Week 10- Dallas 31 New York 20
Also when I talk about match ups I do not mean season stats. Head to head is what i'm talking about . Dallas WR versus NY DB's, dallas def line versus new yorks oline and so on.
The INDIVIDUAL matchups are what count.
