| What's on your bucket list? Posted: 1/8/2008 4:21:15 PM | | I've been seeing that ad on TV for the new Jack Nicholson/Morgan Freeman movie about the two old sick men who have a list of things to do before they "kicked the bucket" and it go me to thinking do I have any such list of my own. So far the only thing I can think of is I'd really like to travel to Italy before I'm too old to get around. I'm still thinking about it, but was wondering if any of you already have your "bucket list" made? | |

| What's on your bucket list? Posted: 1/8/2008 5:10:17 PM | My list of things to do before I kick the bucket.
Riding my Motorcycle from the west coast to the east coast. Visit my German Buddy in Bolivia. Climb the Pyramids in Egypt. Parachute Win the Lottery … damn I’m not even playing. Travel through Malaysia.
…. still need to think of more.
Oh, I almost forgot .... have a threesome with oriental twins.

Go to Australia Jump out of an airplane... (yes with a parachute) Spend the night at the Ahwahnee Hotel in Yosemite National Park (need a rich guy for this one, rooms are between $400 and $500 a night... more than this single mom can afford)
I'm sure I'll think of more things later...

I'm just hoping to get off this site before I start getting mail from AARP Its going to take that long?!!
Seriously this is the only thing on my list of things to do. The rest I can do without. Well maybe if they build an interstellar space craft in my lifetime.

| What's on your bucket list? Posted: 1/8/2008 7:51:53 PM | Great post - I think everyone should have a bucket list - it keeps you looking forward instead of backward. I lived in Australia a few years ago and loved the place - the people, the beaches, etc. I am an old guy so I must keep my list short, and the only thing on my list is to split my time between my home in California and a beach house in Australia.
I understand Nicole Kidman is "available" - this is my chance!
Cheers to all. | |

| What's on your bucket list? Posted: 1/8/2008 8:46:14 PM | Hmmmmmm.... let's see...
A weekend at Las Hadas in Manzanillo,
Sailing in New Zealand,
visit Macchu Pichu,
swim with dolphins and manatees,
drive through the Florida Keys, see the Everglades,
go see killer whales in their native waters,
and also see the gorillas in their native habitat before they're extinct.
Just to name a few.... | |

Better hurry. The letter will be there as soon as you hit fifty (Tom Paxton wrote a song about the letter). I really think they should be held financially responsible for the depression they've cause over the years!

Go see Golden Compass first. You might change your mind.
Spend the night at the Ahwahnee Hotel in Yosemite National Park (need a rich guy for this one, rooms are between $400 and $500 a night... more than this single mom can afford)
I stayed at this place in Sequoia at $350 per night:

Good food and hot showers but you have to walk there.

| What's on your bucket list? Posted: 1/8/2008 9:13:06 PM | | I think I will need a paint bucket, a big cleaning bucket, a small bucket for cleaning the rabbit cage and a galvanized metal bucket for longnecks when I have a party. | |

No it HAS to be the Ahwahnee Hotel... this is my bucket list remember! No substitutes.
I thought of some place else. I can't remember the name of it... (jeopardy tune is playing in my head)... ah got it!
Museum of Qin Terra Cotta Warriors and Horses in China- I saw this on the Amazing Race a couple years ago. (Google it... it's amazing!) 8000 terra cotta warriors uncovered and they are still excavating!
The Great Wall of China
The Three Gorges Dam Project on the Yangtze river in China- I read about this project... this dam project wipes out whole villages and in my opinion is not a good thing, I don't believe it's complete yet. Over a million people will be displaced and need to be resettled because of it.

| What's on your bucket list? Posted: 1/9/2008 12:01:22 AM | I don't really have a bucket list.
I never have been good at holding back with things. If I wanted to do something, I did it. Still have pretty much that philosophy.
I have hiked in europe, jumped out of planes, fallen a good 800 feet down a ski slope once (not the original plan of descent, but it was hilarious for everyone watching from the ski lift) I guess the only thing left I have not figured out is the trip to antarctica. Going solo will cost close to a million bucks, and evidently guys with fake kneecaps are not acceptible pack mules (and with the sole exception of my biochem degree, I evidently don't qualify scientifically, Computer geek is just not enough).
So I guess that would be the one thing.
There is however a few new horizons that hold some promise, next time I get the urge I will go wander over one.

My bucket lists expand and contract over time. Some of this has to do with scratching things off as they are completed. Most of these items for me usually are travel related; travel is relatively easy to complete once it shows up on a list. At present, I have relatively few, if any, items on my bucket list. I seem to be following the 'ancient chinese proverb'(do we still have those?) that reads: "if you stay in one place long enough, you can watch as the entire world will passes in front of your front door".

| What's on your bucket list? Posted: 1/9/2008 4:08:36 PM | Hey Ender! Good to see you- where've you been?
My list: see the Northern Lights go to Australia make it down a double black diamond run intact and upright stay in one of those little cabanas over the water in Fiji or wherever they are run naked down the street shouting, "WHO TOOK MY BUCKET???"

Jump out of an airplane... (yes with a parachute)
That used to be on my list. I did it - tandem - have the film with musical background. Great experience. I would do it again but my long term care insurance agent says she will cancel my policy if she finds out I did. Awesome - Oh, am wearing my tshirt from it today. "skydive elsinore" Ask for YoYo he was great.
I've done so much traveling this past year I cam going to have to write a new list. Like, I know I want to want to go to Australia ... but I am not sure I really want to. I need a vision. I'll go work on it.
Yes, good question. I needed to look again.

| What's on your bucket list? Posted: 1/9/2008 6:38:25 PM | Travel might be nice... if it was done on my own time and not on some cruise ship. I've heard stories about people having to scale the acropolis in Athens and then leave 5 minutes after they get there because the ship's leaving at 2.
Not my style...
It would be nice to learn the language a little bit.. maybe go some place for awhile... see the sights, talk to people, etc, etc..

| What's on your bucket list? Posted: 1/9/2008 7:15:27 PM | | I bought my son a book a few years ago entitled "1000 places to visit before you die" Great book... lots of diverse unheard of places to see. | |

mmmm, can't make up my mind...........crispy, spicy or regular recipe.[endquote] That is 'exactly' what I was thinking when first reading the thread title. I hope to leave a legacy of love behind when I die (I know sort of boring).**sigh

| What's on your bucket list? Posted: 1/9/2008 10:48:07 PM | I see a lot of people wanting to sky dive, and then they go do a tandem dive...
I don't think it could possibly be the same effect though, granted, I have never jumped tandem so no way of knowing.
granted, I learned the old fashioned way...
