| Cuddle/snuggle parties
Posted: 1/13/2008 11:59:58 AM | Has anyone experienced this phenomenon and what is your reaction? Varoius organizations hold an event called a snuggle or cuddle party or event. They spend some time reading the rules. No sex, no nudity, no touching privates and no doing anything that is not explicitly granted by the other person involved. 25-40 people congregate on mats, futons or blankets, with pillows, and hug, cuddle, spoon, talk, stroke, massage, brush hair, exchange ideas, laugh, play. I saw one couple playing cat and dog and chasing each other. 4 for 5 or more might spoon or pile on top each other. It is soooooooo much fun and it gives you affection and human contact without going too far, crossing boundaries and breaking hearts. I wondered if anyone else out there has done this or has any input on the idea.
Please don't delete this thread. I am not advertising for this event, just asking for opinions on it. | |

Seriously, that would be HELL if there was no sex invloved; I'd never make it through the night... It's like someone stuck you in the middle of hte desert, and chained you up within arms reach of a gallon of spring water...
That's like getting a lap dance at a strip club... Now, who the hell would be stupid enough to pay a woman $20 for a 3-4 minute lap dance? If you spent an hour at the strip club, you'd be spending about $300; you might as well take her home for that price. I mean, the woman is pretty much giving you a hard on and there's nothing you can do about it.
That's how I view the concept of a snuggle party; I hope that analogy makes sense... | |

We HAVE had "hug days" out at the Mall--you just get a few people, and ask others if they'll give you a hug. Most will--it's a feel-good thing to do. | |

I understand people get lonely,but it's not natural to go to a party with strangers and let a random person cuddle with you.
People should have more respect for themselves,and find more valuable things to do with their time.

WHAT TO WEAR: Pajamas - nothing too risqué. Think more comfy than sexy. (More drawstrings, less lace. No shorts.)
WHAT TO BRING: A pillow or stuffed animal if you like. Juice or sparkling cider is always welcome. Sorry, no liquor folks. Otherwise, just bring your smiling self.
STICK TO THE RULES:
Rule # 1 - Pajamas stay on the whole time.

(Not for moral reasons, but so often it leads to abandonment.) You're also asked to bathe, not wear perfume or aftershave as some are allergic. You don't have to touch anyone you don't want to. I spent the last event with a young guy half my age most of the 5 hours. Fun. | |

Well, I once had a cuddle buddy (strictly platonic) and no one understood it. People would assume he was gay or there was some sort of monetary gain in it for me, but we both actually loved it. It was a great way to enjoy giving and receiving affection without crossing the line where emotions (and bodily fluids) get involved.
So! My answer is...where do I sign up!? Hehehe...
