AND why do they get mad when you ask for one?They say that they want you to know them first but how does one know if they are attracted to each other if no pic is supplied at the beginning? | |

Some of the reasons include:
1) They are hiding something. (A marriage, a girlfriend, etc)

I am insecure about my looks,but there are other reasons why I don't post a pic.
For starters,I know quite a few people that frequent this site,and I don't want my identity revealed.
Another thing,I don't want a man talking to me based on a picture.
I want a man to take the time to read my profile,and get to know me a little.
After corresponding with a man for a little bit,I will provide a pic if he asks to see one. | |

However, as I read over these forums I see that a lot of people attack each other about their looks, self-descriptions and content of the pictures. Some of these posts are downright mean. I can see how someone who has experienced this type of personal attack from a bunch of strangers before would be wary of doing it again. So maybe they don't post pictures because they don't need to be told how badly they suck while they're looking for love, friendships or any other kind of intimate attention. A person's ego is a fragile thing and some people just don't want to hear it I imagine. | |

Without a photo I dont get as many email. maybe 3 or 4 a week. But they are a better quility of email. They usually deal with or ask something that is in my profile. And yes, sometimes it deals with sex. i dont mind though a sex question though. | |

I'd rather post my pic and take my chances that ladies are not attracted, that way I know up front. What a waste of time to spend time chatting or talking on the phone for hours only to find out that you're not attracted to the other person. Let's face it. Your right Tony, however how many times in public has someone made comments about the way you look. You know they may not be attracted to you but they will not tell you how bad they think you look. Here on the net people can be down right cruel and mean. I did not have my pic on here at first I added one and one only to give them an idea of what I look like but have been told nasty things as well. I also only have this one and I do not send anymore. I do get the Well can you send a full body picture becasue my profile says A few pounds extra, then my height and weight are there. Yep got tired of everyones idea of "Thin, Average, Few Extra."
Yes physical attraction is a big thing however you put yourself out there expect it to be good and bad. | |

Not because I am trying to be rude, but I do agree everyone has their own standards of what they find is attractive and beautiful. So sometimes you msg someone or they you and they have no picture and it takes a while before they actually give you one. Then you are not attracted at all and this might make me sound bad, but I know most people do it, is that they go from potential interest to let's be friends. Now that sucks, and I hate letting people down. Even if I was out and a girl came up to me to talk to me and I wasn't interested I still feel bad, cause I know how it feels myself. But most mature people know that its part of dating and attraction and you deal with it. So that being said, I do agree that I would like to know as much as I can about someone I might be interested in. Most natural settings are that you see someone and you have an instant physical attraction (granted yes it can happen after getting to know someone and you develop that attraction), then you want to get to know more about them.
I think women would get msged whether they did or didn't have a pic, where as I think guys would get messaged much less. I think they get messaged much less even with a pic. Though you can always attach a pic in an email I believe as a response and not have one posted.
I find that this site is mostly set up for guys to approach women and then they go through the emails and decide who they want to contact. Though from friends of mine who are on here that are girls, they tell me that having a picture up does get them a ton of messages and mostly all of them are pervs or dumb messages like... "sup." So what they do is read one or two of the 60 they got in one day.. and delete the rest of the rest just get buried because by the next day they have 60 more. Then they get sick of it and leave it for a few days and then just empty their inbox and keep going. They rarely do the first contact or even search for guys because they have enough work trying to answer what they have already. So the good guys get lost and deleted along with the bad. So I am going to go with this idea because it makes me feel better that women don't always respond to a message haha. | |

I don't mind the "no photo" profile, as long as there IS a profile. If you don't want to post a photo, that's fine, but at least take the time to put some info about you up.

3) They might be hiding from stalkers.
4) They might be in a job where they're not allowed to post their picture on a public site.
5) They might be tired of all the losers just commenting on their looks.
6) They might be fed up with the IE offers.

A discussion occurred at work today, about how people can just right click, save your photos on their own computer. So many people have fake photos of other people up, or they use someone's photos to cause them harm in some way. I once had a guy tell me he saved my photos to his computer because they turned him on so much....EEEWWW

A while back I put up a profile with no pic on the paid sites..they didnt want to bother unless I send a pic..well my friend as work took a pic of me sitting on a park bench, standing by a tree in full attire I usually wear at work..
That was not enough for some..they wanted MORE. ..with a more suggestive poses with different attire and if I had a cam to send real time pics over??
I gave up...they didnt want to meet me..just wanted those dang pics!!!! | |
