| Jeans - to iron or not to iron? Posted: 1/20/2008 4:10:41 AM | Jeans - nearly everybody I know owns a pair. Some people iron them, some people don't.
Of those who do iron - some iron flat, some iron a crease.
And then those who don't iron for everyday wear, do iron if they are going out.
Please, if you have nothing more important to be doing, discuss the ironing or otherwise of denim. And whether the viewing of ironed or otherwise jeans on a potential partner influences you at all.

| Jeans - to iron or not to iron? Posted: 1/20/2008 4:15:16 AM | Tumble drying is an art form in my house, I rarely iron and I mean maybe once a month on something delicate that can't go in the drier - work suits, jeans and everything * will come out perfectly provided the drier's not overloaded and you get it out right as it finishes
(* DISCLAIMER check things can be tumbled by referring to the clothing label)

| Jeans - to iron or not to iron? Posted: 1/20/2008 4:17:10 AM | Wow, i love highbrow conversation, lol. I am a non ironer. they are not creased to buggery but i hate the ironed look. I like men in non ireoned jeans too. no idea why but there you have it. My mum irons a crease into hers and did it to my brothers when he moved back home for a bit. Funny to see a 30yr old with creases down the front of his jeans. Did wonders for his street cred, lol. | |

As this is too short to post i recommend a Drs surgery or perhaps a discrete visit to the local pharmacy.

| Jeans - to iron or not to iron? Posted: 1/20/2008 4:23:37 AM | I hardly ever iron
I hang my clothes to dry mostly and as my place is so warm they dry crease free!
Used to iron them inside out (to stop the shineyness on the outside) NO CREASES DOWN THE MIDDLE! They are not trousers.
Blurgh! lol | |

Used to iron them inside out (to stop the shineyness on the outside) That is so funny, I iron everything inside out, glad I'm not alone in my madness.......
Years ago, when I was young and fashion aware (sorry can't spell conscious) I used to iron my jeans with a crease down the front.....
da da.... then I grew up, or realised I no longer needed them ~
So now I do iron them, but minus the crease, moi, I iron everything if it moves... nothing I like more than a pile of ironing and a good film on the tv......

| Jeans - to iron or not to iron? Posted: 1/20/2008 4:25:36 AM | Only time I wear jeans is when I am slumming in the house, or potching about in the garden. So erm.... un-iron...... cleaned but still totally dirty from paint and stuff.
Am more of a combat type of person - mmmmhmmmm big zippy pockets. Love them.

| Jeans - to iron or not to iron? Posted: 1/20/2008 4:26:50 AM | I hate ironing, but because of my washing addiction, I have loads to do. I rarely use the dryer if I can help it, plus I'm only in on an evening through the week, so wouldn't leave the dryer running whilst I'm not here. Accidents can happen as a friend found out last year. There was an electrical fault with her dryer, and her kitchen was burnt out, would've have been worse, but she only nipped to the local shop luckily for her.
As for ironing jeans, yes I do but never with a crease down the middle. Looks a bit twatty to me does that.

So if you (not just Missy, but anybody) had been chatting to somebody for a while, then met up, and decided you liked him/her enough for a second meet, be it as potential partner or just as friends, would their wearing of jeans with a crease down the front, mean the third meet was at their house so you could teach them how to iron properly?
Or would you just tell them they looked a bit twatty?
|
| Jeans - to iron or not to iron? Posted: 1/20/2008 4:36:05 AM | ironing is the devils work!!! lol
i dont iron anything if i can help it. As soon as it comes out the drier i fold and put away so no need for the iron. Perhaps once in a blue moon i will iron those items that are hell bent on drying like a scrunched up rag lol

I would probably be polite on the first date and not say anything, but then I wouldn't be able to help myself, and would pull my travel iron out, and iron his jeans right there, right then, preferably with him still in them, so he feels the pain of not to wear creased down the middle jeans ever again!
And yes, I would say he looks twatty in them. I'm doing him a favour lol.

| Jeans - to iron or not to iron? Posted: 1/20/2008 4:39:19 AM | | I never iron my jeans there is no point adll mine are skin tight, but i did iron my kids jeans when they were at home but never with a crease the white line down the front of the leg is a big no no. | |
|
| Jeans - to iron or not to iron? Posted: 1/20/2008 4:45:02 AM | I used to iron shirts for work, but not even that anymore, unless they're too wrinkly, lots of blokes seem to have stopped bothering.
My ex used to iron EVERYTHING, in front of the TV; clothes, sheets, towels, kitchen cloths, underwear. One of my few 'harmless but slightly annoying' pleasures is to sometimes wear a really wrinkled shirt when I'm there with my son. She never says anything but I can see her ironing hand twitching as she glances helplessly at my clothes.

I too love washing, but i never iron anything, i think you need to iron if you over fill the washing machine, mines never creased and i never iron, the last time i had the iron out was to iron name tags onto my sons school clothes at Christmas and before that i cant even remember.
Cant remember the last time i saw someone with a crease ironed down the front of their jeans thats a look thats due to come around again soon

| Jeans - to iron or not to iron? Posted: 1/20/2008 4:55:13 AM | Jeans - nearly everybody I know owns a pair. I haven't owned a pair of jeans since I was 17!
EDIT : VVVVV
It's okay, she doesn't know you...... Hehe, knew someone would say that. Couldn't see a way to easily butcher her quote to get out of that though, I just meant I'm not one of the jean wearing brigade. Could never see the appeal in them...

As long as you return them to your neighbour's washing line after your night out then it shouldn't be a problem for you borrowing them.
