Posted: 1/24/2008 7:37:07 AM | Firstly, I'm not anti-semitic or a Jew hater, heck i have a lot of respect for that small nation and all that its people have been through throughout the ages plus the fact that its surrounded by countries that don't even recognize it's right to exist.. I posted this over in the Politics sections and basically got a few hilarious emails calling me a nazi etc etc... all this within about 20mins of posting so the balloons didn't even watch the fecking thing...
I watched this and it really opened my eyes to the plight of the Palestinian people, not the Islamic fanatics or the deplorable suicide bombers, just the ordinary men, women and children and the crap they have to go through, but whats really interesting and what caught my eye is how the media portrays these events by the careful manipulation of certain words to make out that the Israels are whiter than white, in fact, it's so bad and so obvious that it makes me wonder at the level of intelligence of the average American, anyways just thought i would share it with you to see what you think..

If you question the intelligence of one country you need to question them all....we do not have an objective press. The best thing to do is watch right leaning and left leaning...read and then once you're feeling like you have an understanding then you make a decision.
I've not seen the vid you're showing there, but keep in mind that all over the world there was sympathy for the IRA--depending on the leanings of the news organization--and the everyday citizens of the country...In Iraq there were documentaries on the wonders of Saddam...Michael Moore is making a fortune making 'documentaries' based on 'facts' now...my point is anyone can manipulate anyone.

Ahhh... the "Hitler Card", often played fallacy from those who don't understand the Israel/Palestine situation from anything other than bigotry towards Palestine via political partisanship. BTW, the director of this film (Peace, Propaganda, and the Promised Land), Bathsheba Ratzkoff, is a Jewish Israeli-American.
This is an existing topic on that forum, and that accusation, IMO; has been thoroughly debunked.

It's not anti-semitic or anti-jewish to not agree with the actions of Israel, though this is often used to paint those who object to the illegal occupation, oppression, violence, and suffering of Palestinians; in a negative light.
It isn't a conspiracy-nut film, the things and organizations depicted in the movie are very real, and probably not as aggressive a player in the UK and European media as they are in the US. But, they are a powerful lobby in the US in both Capital Hill, and ALL of the major media outlets in the US. Ironically, there may be a more balanced reportage in Israel.
...As far as I'm concerned, this film just touches on the "tip of the iceberg" in regards to the media being complicit in a misinformation campaign. Doing a little research into the organizations mentioned in the film, like CAMERA, AIPAC, and MEMRI, is a must after seeing this documentary; if you really want to see the scope of the problems connect with any public relations advocacy for brutality and oppression.
Many just feel that this is a US funded and approved proxy war against Muslims and Arabs in the region, ...follow the money as it goes to Israel and then makes the return trip to these lobbies and PR orgs in the US. | |

There was a very good doc on last year on the BBC. It was aboot Jerusalem mostly, but did touch on other parts of Israel. The rights that Arabic non-Jewish people of the town had etc, I think there is a legal distinction, they are not allowed to be citizens or something. I cannot really recollect, but it was verging on the disturbing, like the story of the man who is not allowed to leave his house because Palestinians are not allowed on the street in his part of town, very weird. The manipulation that goes on there is remarkable.
There was a paper that touched on the influence of AIPAC in US society last year I think, written by some uni professors, it caused a right ole stink. | |

Posted: 1/24/2008 12:04:20 PM | The bit that cracked me up the most, and i didn't know this till i watched it, was the peace deal that the Palestinians refused back in camp david with president Clinton and the Israelis all those years ago, now it was spun in such a way as to make out that the Israelis offered everything and the Palestinians wanted none of it so naturally and i feel rather bad for this i sided with Israelis and thought the Palestinians nothing but arrogant Jew haters that want nothing but the destruction of Israel.. i was younger at the time...
Turns out, the Israelis offered the Palestinians a state they could call their own but on one condition... the Israelis will control your borders, your airspace, your natural resources, all your strategic land and will keep the Jewish settlements in place and you lot can do whatever the hell you want with the rest of the land! haha! is it any wonder they were so bloody mad and went berserk, thats not a deal, thats a take it or leave with nothing...
As i said a great documentary with intelligent arguments and not one head slapping crazy mullah in sight. | |

Those behind the manipulation of the media are also well placed in the highest offices of the US policy machine, the White House.
Again, search the names and see for yourself, this isn't conspiracy-nut stuff, ...follow the money.
BTW, David Wurmser was the advisor to the US VP D!ck Cheney, ....and was in charge of about 900+ "cooked" intelligence reports that led to the false pretenses given for the Iraq invasion....

I think History tells us who the real suppressed people are in this conflict. I might not agree with their methods, but something has to be done.

Your actually relieved to have had Bush as president instead of Joe Lieberman as a vice-president? Wow... I think even White Nationalists today admit they would've begrudgingly accepted the more credible orthodox Jewish vice-president Lieberman with president Gore over what the garbage they ended up with.
