Virgin vs. De-virginized

There is a thread in over 30 about reacting to still being a virgin and one of the women said "Too MANY women have said they regretted having sex before marriage and wished they waited."

I see this explanation when the issue of virginity is brought up.

So my question to you dear ladies of PoF... how many of you regretted having sex before you married (or it's too late now even though you aren't married yet) and how many of you are glad you did it.

I think that there's no point in regreting anything in life... it's done, it's part of the past... and it's that past that makes you the person you are today... and for those reasons, I dont regret it... I'm happy with who I am today... Life wasnt easy (it usually isnt easy for anybody anyway! lol)... I'm just happy to have gone through everything I went through coz I learned a lot from it and from everybody that came into my life...

No regrets No! :)~

When I was a senior in high school, my gov't teacher advised us not to wait til marriage, guess he went thru a bitter marriage, pretty much says that you should try it out then have the relationship work.

I don't regret not being a virgin, however I waited for a long period til I was sure I was ready. I think it's better to find out if you can connect with someone emotionally and sexually because if you marry and find out that the person you're with doesn't do it for you in bed, then you'll both be miserable. I think it would prevent cheating a bit if both parties had the experience.

Well I do not regret it at all... definitely been a non-virgin since my freshman year in college, and no regrets whatsoever.

Seeing as I didn't get married till I was 34 I don't regret it at all, I don't really believe in marriage though.

Although Im not with my ex husband anymore, I have no regrets about waiting for him. We were not married yet, but I felt he was the one. I was 19. It was all on my own terms. I was in my own bed, on the pill (we didn't worry so much about stds back then) and completely in love. Everything was completely perfect, worry free, and magical (well at least for me, he wasn't a virgin) .

My daughter regretted losing hers the way she did. Basically an older guy at a party got her drunk. She said it wasn't any good and he dumped her right after and went after her friend. The book I published is about a teen girl being pressured to give it up, but she makes the guy wait and he really falls for her. My daughter's best friend after reading it said the story made her wish she was a virgin again.

I think the only regrets women have are when they are coerced into something, or dumb enough to believe the guy actually loves them and then they get dumped....or they are just too too young.

I lost my virginity when I was 15 to casual sex w/ a friend and I have NEVER regretted it.

It was never a big deal to me...more of a hassle really. All the girls were making a huge big deal out of it and it was just another something I saw as having to be done so I could continue on with growing up and living my life.

I did it with a friend...we did it casually a few more times after that and then I found a steady BF so the casual sex ended.

I've always viewed sex differentially though...

She loves her men and she loves her booze
She lost her cherry, but that's no sin
Cause she's still got the box that the cherry came in!!!

Waiting till marriage?? I could have lost it at age 15 with my first boyfriend if I was stupid. He was basically saying that he wants it now, and he cannot wait for me. He ended up breaking up with me on Christmas because I would not give him that satisfaction. However, I do not regret it all :) for keeping it.

Now today, I am still a virgin at my age, but I have not had a boyfriend yet. Even if I were to have one, I will still wait as long as I can. This matter is so hard for me to wait..

Can there be a thing if you waited until a decent age?? Of course after you knew the individual for a really long that is and love him?

idk anyone in the same boat as me?? Or am I different??

for all intents and purposes I am still a virgin and I'm kinda glad... there hasn't been one person I've been interested in enough to give it up...
