| NEW YORK GIANTS Posted: 2/3/2008 9:00:03 PM | | Well i was wrong about the New York Giants, they played a excellent game against the Patriots.Eli Manning played a great game and he step up to the plate and the Defense was Awesome by putting alot of pressure on Tom Brady and the offense.Thats all for now but i want to congradulate the New York Giants for winning the Super Bowl. | |
| NEW YORK GIANTS Posted: 2/3/2008 9:45:24 PM | I am so happy New York Giants won the SuperBowl. ( and this coming from a Jays fan) and Yankee hater (sorry) and this coming from a person who does not like football. I only watch when its SuperBowl time and anytime a team associated with Boston loses, im happy.

and for those who want this deleted are probably the sore losers. Whats wrong with you, you should be happy and proud of your team was 17-0 not something that is easy to do.
| NEW YORK GIANTS Posted: 2/3/2008 10:32:03 PM | | Whoa. All I can say is wow. Congratulations!!! The Giants did something that isn't normally done. Whoa.Congratulations!!! | |
| NEW YORK GIANTS Posted: 2/3/2008 10:42:56 PM | Actually, 18-1.
Yuck.
Waste of a year.
Oh well.
Congrats. Again. | |
| NEW YORK GIANTS Posted: 2/3/2008 10:57:24 PM | The 1 in the 18-1 makes these Patriots inferior to the '72 Dolphins. They don't really size up to the best team ever. | |
| NEW YORK GIANTS Posted: 2/3/2008 10:59:51 PM | From the perspective of someone who is neutral on the issue (but slightly rooting for the underdog), the game was kind of a snooze fest for 90% of the affair. Good thing it had an exciting finish. I don't think anyone saw that coming, not even most Giants fans.
By the way, the Dolphins only had a 14 game regular season.
| NEW YORK GIANTS Posted: 2/3/2008 11:22:04 PM | Props to the Giants..However no one should bash the pats. They did something that will prolly never be matched. 18-0 is something to be proud of.
No one has done what they have done, and they are the best team in the last 5 years..
Now new york fans congrats, but plz dont bash.
| NEW YORK GIANTS Posted: 2/3/2008 11:31:15 PM | 72 dolphins are not that impressive.
They never went 18-0. | |
| NEW YORK GIANTS Posted: 2/4/2008 12:07:13 AM | | But it's the 1 that makes the difference. The Patriots can see this year as a victory but the Giants see this year worthy of a parade....Congratulations Giants!!!! | |
| NEW YORK GIANTS Posted: 2/4/2008 12:12:30 AM | | The Dolphins went undefeated and the Patriots didn't. | |
| NEW YORK GIANTS Posted: 2/4/2008 12:34:25 AM | | I am not suprise that the Giants won and they play like they wanted to win the game at the End. I want to know what does everyone who don't like Eli have to say now. | |
| NEW YORK GIANTS Posted: 2/4/2008 4:15:38 AM | The Dolphins went undefeated and the Patriots didn't.
this is true, but this pats team would beat that 72 dolphins team, i hate the pats so i say this almost unwilling, that 72 dolphins team only beat 4 teams with a winning record all year.the pats beat 8 playoff teams this year, and also had more wins then that team, but oh well, i was so happy to see them lose yesterday.
| NEW YORK GIANTS Posted: 2/4/2008 4:39:55 AM | | Never said I didnt like Eli. I just stated that his past play was suspect. I also stated that whenever a offense doesn't preform up to par the burden & blame always falls on the QB's shoulders. Everything came together for the Giants down the stretch. Running game, recievers ,Especially Tyree & Smith enabling Burris & Toomer to face single coverage for the most part. Kudos to the O Line as well for stepping up. | |

| NEW YORK GIANTS Posted: 2/4/2008 5:11:53 AM | | The only thing I didn't like about the Giant victory that I thought was CLASSLESS at best was seeing Jeremy Shocky cozy in his box seat drinking alcohol while his teammates were leaving it all on the field. Sort of the norm for Shocky as we all know. Refusing to train with teammates in the off season and his display of a selfish attitude are the norm for this chump. | |
| NEW YORK GIANTS Posted: 2/4/2008 11:56:47 AM | | and what would have been the appropriate thing for him to be doing in your opinion? he is on crutches with a broken leg also. what do you think its like to watch your team win the super bowl while all you do is watch, do you think thats easy to do? classless is when you search for negatives in one of the greatest victorys ever. i remember everything you said about eli. well that boat sailed so now you are trying to get a spot on the shockey ferry. give me a break | |
| NEW YORK GIANTS Posted: 2/4/2008 12:11:20 PM | Your saying 18-0 is a great accomplishment? The Bears did it - and lost the superbowl. The Pats are no better then every other team that has come in second. 18-0 is nothing. After a week no one will remeneber it, except for Pats fans trying to console themseleves. It doesnt matter if you win every single game you ever play - if you cant win the championship. 18-0? Its meaningless.
Congrats to the Giants who started off the year with nothing but turmoil and misdirection.
Kudos to Coughlin for not only pulling his boys together but also changing his style to better fit his club.
And the biggest thanks needs to go to Tiki Barber and his ridculous antics the previous season. That paved the way for the Giants to realize what a divided locker room will do to a team, and also to focus on how to make it a unified group.
Enjoy New York!!!!! Grats G-MEN!!!!!

| NEW YORK GIANTS Posted: 2/4/2008 12:22:07 PM | What was classless and odd was the way the Patriots head coach made his exit before the end of the game, as if to say "Good game guys, but I am not sticking around for you to have your moment."
I am not sure what his reasons were for doing that, but I can't think of many good ones. I guess I would just classify it as strange more than anything.
I am neutral on the issue as I said before, but I think people are going a little far touting Eli as the real hero there. Before everyone starts boo hooing, think about it logically. As a former athlete, I totally respect the pressure he was under, and he did well. But every other pass looked like a near interception. In my opinion, it was a series of desperation plays that payed off. I am not trying to take anything away from him, seriously, but more to say the the MVP was the Giant Defense. That point is so clear it's pretty much unimpeachable. They held the best offense in football to 7 points for 95% of the game?
Manning got the job done, good for him. I just hate how offensive players in just about every sport steal the limelight, and in this case, from the true heros of the game. (yeah, I realize it has to go to one guy, so I dunno what single player on D would get it-but they kept 'em in it)
| NEW YORK GIANTS Posted: 2/4/2008 1:04:25 PM | Boy do I feel good today
I have to say....... The Giants played so well and only gave up two scores. Kept control of most of the game. The only thing left is to see the Wiz and Kebro with pictures of themselves in Giant jerseys. Than I could close and say they are men of there word!
NEW YORK GIANTS SUPERBOWL XLII CHAMPIONS against the Brady bunch
Manning MVP.................to all you Manning executionists I see he showed you all up!

| NEW YORK GIANTS Posted: 2/4/2008 1:13:31 PM | | Since they can't give an Escalade to the whole defense and had to choose one guy, Eli earned those honors just for the solid way he played without panicking and most especially the way he kept the last drive alive. However, I agree that the defense deserves to be collective MVPs because they would not have made the playoffs without them and this game would have been a blowout had they not shut down Brady the way they did. And if I had to choose one defensive player I'd choose Jason Tuck with his two sacks and a forced fumble. | |
| NEW YORK GIANTS Posted: 2/4/2008 1:19:03 PM | i remember everything you said about eli. well that boat sailed so now you are trying to get a spot on the shockey ferry. give me a break
Fishernick, Have I recanted what I said about Eli more than once in more than one thread? YES Wasn't it me who in another thread stated that when an offense is not productive the blame usually falls on the QB's shoulders no matter where the blame really falls? YES
Didn't know Shockey was on crutches so I recant that comment as well. Not trying to take away from the Giants victory..This was one of the greatest Super Bowls of all time no doubt. It was a defensive battle & the better defense prevailed. The Giants D Line played a remarkable game. The Pats O Line had no answer for sure.. Again..Congrats to the Giants & their fans to a great win..
| NEW YORK GIANTS Posted: 2/4/2008 1:31:40 PM | | allright, i guess if you did not know he was on crutches i could see what you were saying. | |
| NEW YORK GIANTS Posted: 2/4/2008 4:46:48 PM | | I'm glad they won, I always cheer for the underdogs. | |
