My friends tend to the same old places and there is never anyone there that is either my age or just noone there period LOL. I am like the only single girl in my group of friends, which means all functions involve couples, that go to the same places over and over where there is no chance of actually meeting someone, or they try to set you up somehow without options lol...It is very difficult to meet new people if you are not putting yourself in situations to do exactly that, and of course you are not going to go somewhere by yourself... so I hear ya! | |

Seems to me that this is the reason so many of us are on this site....trying to make some new friends.....I myself have lost most of my friends over the years due to the fact that my friends were "our" friends and after my divorce did not feel comfortable being in their company anymore....being single with kids to take care of doesnt give much time for socializiing....now they are older and I do have more freedom but now faced with no friends to actually go out partying with.....I am sure there are many more of us single parents who are in the same boat....not really caring about dating at this point just looking for some individuals to spent some time with socializing....

I ahve that weekend off and where abouts can we go I dont know St johns at all and get lost pretty easily hahahah leave it to me... I moved here 8 months ago, and the only people I've met to hang out with are people at work, and most of them are quite a bit younger than I am, so going out is sort of difficult. I have gone downtown with them twice, and I felt like everyones' mom....sigh.
I miss the friends I had in the last town I lived in, and would like to make some more here in Sin Johns'.
Actually, this idea is an excellent one! It would be so nice to go out and just giggle and cut loose. We could all meet at the Tims on Harvey, and go downtown from there. I'm not very familiar with the bars here, and I hope some of you are, I'd love to find one that I can take my friends to when they come in to visit me.

Posted: 4/26/2008 5:52:29 AM | Harvey Street is the street The Rooms and CLB are on. The Tims there is in front of the RNC headquarters, and close enough to downtown to walk it from there. Plus, there's good parking. Anyone with a car can leave it there, and cab back if needs be.
I think a girls night out for those of us who are either new to town or have no single friends to go out with is a wonderful idea! | |

Kind of hard to meet someone sitting in your own living room,,,,,,,,,,,,I also find it strange going out alone,,,,,,,,but hate sitting home every weekend wishing I at least was out with people so the chance of a connection would at least be a possiblity. | |

Posted: 4/29/2008 1:21:08 PM | Hi ladies I just moved back here after almost 20 years away and don't know anyone anymore. I mean anyone! Not working yet so hard to meet people. I would love to meet some of you to hang out with. I actually tried to contact some of you directly but you have your preferences set so that women can't message you!
I am 47 and looking for people within 5 or 6 years of my age to go out with. I live in Mount Pearl, have a vehicle (such as it is) and a teenaged daughter to drive me around when I want to have a drink.
If anyone wants to have a get together let me know, I'm up for it.
