| RIP sweet angel (Karissa Boudreau ) Posted: 2/14/2008 4:11:04 PM | I waited so long for them to find Karissa & then there was the dreaded news that they found a young female's body last Saturday by the LaHave River.
Then I waited so long to hear if it was, in fact, her. Hoping it wasnt, but knowing it was.
But then today the dreaded news came- yes it was Karissa.
Even more sadly thou, what no one wanted to hear - she was murdered.
Can any of us imagine how her poor parents must be feeling, esp. her mother who we all know is blaming herself- just like we all would - even thou this is in no way her fault
Karissa was a 5ft1, 130 lb. 12 yr old. Perfectly and 100% acceptable for her to wait in the car for her mother who went into Sobeys.
So while today, while we are wishing all our loved ones and likely people we don't give a crap about as well- a Happy Valentine's day... let's think of that sweet angel and her poor family

| RIP sweet angel (Karissa Boudreau ) Posted: 2/14/2008 4:36:00 PM | I agree I couldnt say it better myself Paige.
Me being a parent myself can not even think of what her parent's are feeling right now. My heart is breaking for them and for the whole community. I will have them all in my T&P's and hope that they get some answer's soon.
May she rest in peace. She was taken way to soon.

| RIP sweet angel (Karissa Boudreau ) Posted: 2/15/2008 4:36:37 AM | This is very sad. I could just imagine being a parent, a child is just turning the corner to being an adult. You don't have to follow them around, pick them up from scraping their knees or clean their bums anymore and then ............. This is sad and it's a horrible thing to happen to someone so young and so close to turning that big corner in life. The Maritimes is supposed to be a place where you break down on the side of the road or your boat runs out of gas, someone helps you out. It's supposed to be a place where you wave and say "hi" to strangers without question. It's not supposed to be a place to hide and be scared of everyone else. | |

| RIP sweet angel (Karissa Boudreau ) Posted: 2/15/2008 5:38:23 AM | Murder happens everywhere, for all kinds of reasons. For no reason. College campuses, middle schools, hospitals, private homes, by the side of the road. There is no "safe" place anymore, I'm afraid.
And the one stopping to " " you might not have the best intentions in mind. It's a shame, isn't it?

| RIP sweet angel (Karissa Boudreau ) Posted: 2/15/2008 8:50:34 AM | If you live your life thinking negatively about the world and its beings you will attract it to you. I have never felt safer than being Anywhere in Nova Scotia.. and I've been to a few places..
At this time, we should not reflect on the evil that has happened, but on the people who are affected and send good thoughts to this community, town and family.. It is what they need the most.
It is Sad and Confusing, Frustrating and Sinful that this has happened, but dwelling on the negativity will only bring more about.

| RIP sweet angel (Karissa Boudreau ) Posted: 2/15/2008 10:06:53 AM | First of all I must say that heaven has another angel.
Ok I was going to type this yesterday but thought I wouldn't as it was only speculation and I really didn't want everyone jumping on me. But do to the latest reports and who is thought to be responsible for the murder of this precious angel I wasn't wrong in my assumptions. I wish I was though! I was really suspicious after the police last night were saying it was an isolated incident and the residents of Bridgewater didn't have to worry for their children. Definite red flag!

| RIP sweet angel (Karissa Boudreau ) Posted: 2/15/2008 6:26:27 PM | Darlena I couldn't agree with you more on this statment:
police last night were saying it was an isolated incident and the residents of Bridgewater didn't have to worry for their children. Definite red flag!
I dont know how they can sit there and say not to worrie for your children, when they are not releasing any information on what happened, and the person is still walking around.
Myself I lived in Toronto ontario all my life, I seen a lot well living there during my life, a lot of missing children, a lot of murders and so forth. And then when I got pregnant with my own I made the choice to move to NS because I thought it would be safer for my daughter and her up bringing. But I was wrong and this has showed me that.
It has showed me that no matter where you live or how safe you may feel things like this happen everywhere. And the sad part is your child is never safe. No matter how hard you try to keep your child safe no all times can you do it. I know it is bad to say and dont get me wrong I l0ve my daughter more the life itself, but it is things like this that makes me wish I never had her (I would not change it for the world mind you) because the fear is always going to be there, the fear of everything hit's you when you find out your pregnant but then the fear takes you over when things like this happen.
My daughter is only 2 1/2 and already I am very protective of her and dont let a lot of people around her, and if I had it my way she would be in a bubble where no one could get to her but I know that I cant do that for her whole life. And the sad part is that when things like this happen most time is it a person who they know and feel safe with. The really sad part is you cant trust anyone anymore and I mean NO ONE.

I have had this assumption for awhile now hearing different stories. And yes i realize in situations such as these stories and gossip will run crazy. I just have had that same assumption for the past little while. And have kept my opinion to myself as well as i am sure people dont want to hear that sort of thing. But face it, it happens all over the world and yes sadly close to home. Perhaps my assumption is just that and i apologize. Since the police know its an isolated case and the people that have been suspects were known to the victim it seems my assumption may be more than just assuming for a change.
RIP Karissa. | |

| RIP sweet angel (Karissa Boudreau ) Posted: 2/16/2008 1:38:49 AM | "Isolated incident"..The Police think these words are comforting somehow. As if somehow its ok that"only"one child has been murdered. Its scary just how common and how close these terrible crimes are getting to us. | |

| RIP sweet angel (Karissa Boudreau ) Posted: 2/16/2008 12:18:18 PM | There saying it is an isolated incident because they probably have a good idea who it is. I'm betting on the mom or the boyfriend. It's almost always someone close, look at the statistics. Do you really think she had a fight with mom and just happened to get killed by a random stranger?
Sad as hell. | |

| RIP sweet angel (Karissa Boudreau ) Posted: 2/17/2008 10:26:33 AM | Any new news on this case? I'm wondering if perhaps the child was already dead before she was even reported missing | |
|
| RIP sweet angel (Karissa Boudreau ) Posted: 2/18/2008 4:40:18 AM | | I'll ask what everyone else is tip toeing around here , Is the Mother or somone else close to Karissa responsible for this death? chances are the answer will be yes.........personally I found the original newscast very disturbing . Karissa's mom is on tv pleading for the return of her lost daughter. there are at least 6 other people within arms length of her and no one reaches out to comfort her in any way. and the police officer is studying her while she speaks. I believe , in my own opinion, that the mother was a suspect right from jump.........she was the last one known to see her alive and they had an arguement before she left..........this is only my opinion, not to enrage anyone, just to open some real discussion on this. GOD bless you Karissa | |

| RIP sweet angel (Karissa Boudreau ) Posted: 2/19/2008 3:21:46 AM | | I don't doubt that for a minute.......it'll be interesting to see how it all plays out...... all the expense of a beautiful child...... | |
|
| RIP sweet angel (Karissa Boudreau ) Posted: 2/19/2008 8:55:53 AM | Yes I would say everyone has their own opinions on what went down, and the town of Bridgewater must be buzzing with rumours.
I must say there is one other thing in this whole situation that surprises me and that is.. how low keyed the father of the child has been??
If it were my child I would imagine I would be freaking out!!
Maybe he is and just not getting the news attention!! I understand he did get possession of the body for the funeral.
|
| RIP sweet angel (Karissa Boudreau ) Posted: 2/23/2008 8:41:40 AM | | How do we even know if she was with her mother at the grocery store.....thats what her mother said....something could have happened to her prior to that.... | |

| RIP sweet angel (Karissa Boudreau ) Posted: 2/27/2008 5:43:17 AM | | From Saint John, NB - The talk here is that everyone feels the father is involved someway. Very sad if true. Hopefully the truth will eventually come out and doesn't remain unsolved. | |
|
| RIP sweet angel (Karissa Boudreau ) Posted: 2/27/2008 2:08:05 PM | The father or the mothers boyfriend? I have heard stuff concerning the mother and/or her boyfriend, but never her biological father | |
|
| RIP sweet angel (Karissa Boudreau ) Posted: 2/27/2008 6:30:25 PM | Being in the news business, I've heard a lot of rumours about Karissa. Stuff about how they released her body, how her autopsy was performed. I often get sick of hearing it.
I never knew her.
But I hope they find out who did it.
Aside from the story, which we'll all cover - Karissa, like Chrystal Beairsto - who I went to school with – will haunt those involved for as long as they live.
(I added an S on 'news business')

| RIP sweet angel (Karissa Boudreau ) Posted: 2/27/2008 11:49:22 PM | | This case is very sad, i have a 12 year old and if this ever happen to her i wouldnt be the same person at all, i have heard that the biological father is not invloved , but the mother and and her boyfriend have been questioned and released so what does this tell everyone? Your innocent till proven quilty, but if you been following the news on karissa's mother theres been alot happening with her lately and her news have been in the public eye, it doesnt look good . All i have to say is that this young girl no matter what she did and i cant imagine her doing anything wrong to make anyone wanna do this horrific monsterous thing to this young angel is dead and no matter how much we hate on people about this and make personal and public opinions this isnt gonna bring this angel baby back no matter what. I have confidents in the police that they will soon make their arrest in this case until then we'll all have to wait and see the outcome on this. RIP KARISSA ANGEL BABY. | |

| RIP sweet angel (Karissa Boudreau ) Posted: 3/1/2008 6:58:26 AM | I'm sure the police will get to the bottom of this and justice will be served, until then please...do yourselves a favor and do not join the rumour mongering, gossip lovin' folks. Nothing I hate more than someone posting their "CSI" visions based on what they see and hear from the media. Whatever happened, happened.
Those who use this story as water cooler conversations should be ashamed!!
Have a bit of respect, this is not a TV show.
