I'm interested but unsure whether to go the first week or the second.
I've never been there which one is better?

Not many. I moved back here from Fla. Lots of people on the forums in Fla, but, here, they don't seem to want to speak out or put their two cents worth in.

Here are a couple of sites that might be helpful:
(we're not supposed to post sites, so I'll try to 'disguise' them)

neworleanscvb dot com

neworleansonline dot com /calendar/

bestofneworleans dot com

nola dot com

I'm a 'native'... New Orleans born and bred. I love this city (sometime I don't know why, because of all the problems -- crime, politics, etc.). But I guess that's the cool part of loving her... it's "just because." I love coming across people from other areas who say that they really enjoyed New Orleans. That's such a pleasure. Plus, even though the French Quarter and the downtown area seem to be 'back to normal', there are LOTS of areas that are still greatly damaged since Katrina. So, I hope that this information is helpful to people who might want to visit us... and thereby help our economy. If you do come... I hope you have a BLAST!!! Here ya' go...

I live in a neighborhood called Algiers Point. It's just across the Mississippi River from the French Quarter. At the foot of Canal Street and the river, there's a free ferry that will take you to Da' Point (that's what we locals call it).

We have a few 'bed & breakfast' businesses that would make it easy for you to have a sweet place to stay and still easily get to the French Quarter and anything else that's going on.

Here are a few more links for you to check out:

Here's Tom Fitzmorris' web site (he's a New Orleans food critic):

So, food recommendations, great New Orleans recipes... yum!

Enjoy!!!

I just returned home to Missouri from New Orleans. I was also down there partying last Spring. After a long cold winter,I was ready to get down to some partying and warm weather. I really do like going down to Bourbon Street and the surrounding French Quarter. I have heard some bad stories about the place but I never saw anything that would make me want to stay away. If you love to party, then this is the place for you. The food is good too!!!! I hope I am able to make this a regular Spring Fling!! For a group of women, this place would be the most fun you will ever have!! See ya next year!!
