Here's a link to an interview with him in regards to the album

So Nas' new album, Ni66er, is bound to stir up a lot of controversy. Ironically enough, you hear the word dropped quite frequently in rap music. This is quite an interesting publicity stunt in order to increase sales if you ask me. On the other hand, I see a lot of bad things amounting from this. I can just see some random nonblack walking around with that shirt, and regardless of what he claims his reasoning behind it is, he's going to get beaten severely for displaying his "ignorance."

Nas definitely has some insight about how people just like to follow what's commercially popular. I mean even these days, I hear people still talking about how hip-hop is dead. Personally, after listening to that album, I think it should have been called "The South Makes Sh*tty Rap Music" (I'm not making a personal statement about rap from the south).

Regardless of what repercussions become of all this, I'm sure that this album will be good.

Nas sells records. And controversy sells records...

So you know this record is going straight to number 1!

I just hope it lives up to the hype.

NaS will go down as being one of the greats of all time. Controversy sells and they say but he's just keeping it real and getting everything talking and thinking.

My personal view is that he over stepped it this time with the name of this album. I guess he felt he had to take it to another level from his 'Hiphop Is Dead' title.

Nevertheless i'm agreeing with y'all, this album will be hot!
