Ozone and the space program - is there an impact?
Posted: 2/22/2008 9:45:21 PM
I know that we are all incredibly concerned about our planet, the depletion of the ozone and global warning. In Nov at the EP Conference in Vancouver that seemed to be the most talked about topic in terms of what the emergency management community can expect and how to plan for impacts.

So, it makes me ponder and although I have not taken it upon myself to google this, I mean seriously, why google when there are forums?

I am just wondering what impact all the satellites and shuttles have in depleting our ozone? Does anyone know the answer to this off hand? I wonder how it equates in terms of SUVs on the roads etc. (perhaps the space program is green......zero impact).

All of this blasting in and out of our atmosphere....will there be long term affects that we all may regret (if we don't find a planet to inhabit before this one is annihilated that is).

Any comments, ideas, opinions??

"So, it makes me ponder and although I have not taken it upon myself to google this, I mean seriously, why google when there are forums? "

Why? Mostly, as a courtesy. So you won't waste other people's time because you're too lazy to do your own research.
Also, to avoid cluttering up the forums with needlessly redundant threads.
