Do we all live a life we dread
Are some things really better left unsaid
Do we grieve the living when gone as the living grieve the dead
These thoughts and more ponder my mind
As I lay in my bed at night
My eyes toward Heaven on a starry night
How will I know when I have lost the will to fight
In my prayers I ask God for a sign
He answers me “walk with your shoulders tall…
let no one take you down or make you fall…
life is way too short after all…
for a child of mine to be sad”
He tells me to look upon tomorrow
No more looking back, no more sorrow
No more will I have to beg, steal or borrow
Nor will I worry about what I once had
I am traveling home one day soon
Will I see the galaxies and the moon
Will I pass those destined for a life of doom
Understanding there is no turning back
I now prepare for the final call
No more hiding behind a wall
To Him I will give myself… my all
Curtains close and fade to black | |
