Women: Would you date a guy that is shorter than you are,,,, Why/Why Not?

Question to the Ladies... On reading profiles, most women are looking for "Tall, Dark & Handsome" A cliche' I know. But the majority do state that they are looking for a tall man.

Would you date a man that is shoeter than you are? And why? Or Why not?

My preference.. be it right or wrong... is someone taller than me (or same height as me ++). I dated someone shorter and I just had a hard time with the whole bending down to kiss him.. I lost interest in him really fast. It's not to say that I wouldn't if the chemistry was really GREAT.. but preference is no. Prefer taller (dark and handsome is relative)

I should add here as well.. that he was considerably shorter.. I am 5'8 and he was 5'3.. thus the bending down..

hey love 2 hug,
i know this was to the ladies. and i am def. not one. lol
but it is something i see alot of here,
being fairly short myself, it makes it tough to talk to some women on here, that is oneof the first things i look at on a profile now.
i very rarely message a woman taller than myself, they just dont respond enough.
but i understand where they are coming from as well. everyone has preferences.
could be height, weight, hair colour etc etc.

I prefer taller, bigger men.
I'm no waif, and the whole idea of being with a man who is shorter and less...sturdy...isn't all that appealing to me.
I'm always I'd hurt him or something.
I prefer (meaning, it's not a absolute prerequisite) men who are over 200 pounds and 5' 8" or taller.
I think it also is because of that whole "man as the protector" thing as well. I want to feel "safe" with my man, not like I'd have to protect him if the bad guys show up.

All that being said, it's interesting to note that I spent 15 years of my life with a man who was almost 2 inches shorter than me, and only about 160 lbs....

go figure.

five, eight, and over 200 lbs?
i am five , eight, and 165. if i gained anymorei would not be comftorable with myself.
i play too many sports to gain that much weight.
and i think if the bad guys showed up, and my g/f had to fight them off. i would not be able to face her again anyways. lol

5' 8" isn't that short. You shouldn't let that height stop you from messaging whomever you want. You might be surprised at the number of women who would reply.

In general (not AT Mike497), I've noticed that men tend to "pad" thier height, much the same as some women pad their age, to make themselves more "appealing" to others.
I think that can prove to be a problem, not because of the actual height or age, but because the person wasn't honest in the very beginning.

For instance, ask my 5'7" ex how tall he is, and he will tell you in all seriousness that he is 5' 9". How is that possible, when I'm 5'8" and he's STILL shorter than me?

For the record...I really am 39...just in case anyone is wondering.

The only thing about me that's padded, is my ass, and my bra.

eeeep...I didn't mean it like that. 5'8" and over 200 would be a bit of disproportional height weight ratio.
You're absolutely right, it does need to be a nice balance.
But, I don't have a problem with "cuddly" men either. A little meat on the bones isn't a bad thing.

You wouldn't want a girlfriend that could kick some serious butt??

i would just prefer if she let me handle the bad guys. lol
unless it was a situation like, me giving the bad guys the option, me or her.
so i didnt look like i needed the help. lol

well...

I've never been in a fight in my life.
So, I'd have to stand back and let someone else handle the butt kicking.

(hehehe..I'm a lover, not a fighter I guess you could say)

I'm 6'1" and I've dated a woman taller than me.

Most of my adult longer-term relations have been tall (5'10", 5'10", 5'11", 6'0"). My ex-wife is only 5'4" so it must have been special, eh?

(Girl that I'm currently seeing is about the shortest I've associated with at ~5'1")

Ă—ander... I think you make an interesting point about your ex wife...similar to my point about my ex as well...
that when it's "right" (although it couldn't have been THAT right, or we'd still be with them!!), it doesn't matter what our preferences are. We follow our hearts anyway.

Im just a wee 5'2 also so not a problem with me. I used to go for men that were 6' or taller but find myself attracted to men about 5'8-5'10. Easier to kiss them, lol. Put on the heels and I at least can see their chin, lol.
