| Bands you wished you'd seen !![Closed - List/Poll/Survey - no discussable topic] Posted: 2/28/2008 5:39:23 AM | I havent been to see a big act band for a while...its just happened that way. I migh thave to change that :)
I have been pretty lucky over the years. Had the chance to see some really good acts.. and some...stinkers.
Music comes and music goes and along that path bands form and breakup. Some, luckily for us, are revisiting their bank accounts and reforming to tour once more :)
Some cant !!
I never got to see Queen... I really wish I had.. now there's an act !! Ive seen Straits ( many times ) ..even the Floyd...you just wafted out of the Tennis centre..lol..and Pigs DO fly !! lol
One of my all time faves..the APP ( showing age here..lol ) have never toured OZ..and is unlikely to.. so I might have to try and fit them in o/s one day..if they are still around !!
What bands do you wish you'd gone and seen ??

| Bands you wished you'd seen !! Posted: 2/28/2008 5:51:40 AM | i went down to the captain stirling in nedlands for a sunday session with a mate. we got to the guy on the door and asked how much the band was.....4 bucks i think he said.... we had a look inside and didnt see too many people. The band was pretty noisy and i wasnt inclined to invest such a large amount of money....it was the hoodoo gurus..
i cant count how many times we went to the charles hotel in perth or the nooka or the raffles to try to see cold chisel and the angels..... the lines always went twice around the block and we couldnt be stuffed and always ended up in the front bar talking about making an effort to get there earlier next time..

| Bands you wished you'd seen !! Posted: 2/28/2008 5:52:59 AM | If I'd been around at the time, I would've like to have seen the Doors and Elvis (in his prime..not the old bloated, sick, strung out Elvis)
Also, I'd like to see a lot of the older country stars perform before they all die. Did get to see George Jones last year. Hope to see some others before they get too old to tour.

| Bands you wished you'd seen !! Posted: 2/28/2008 5:58:22 AM | many years back.. was lmid to late 80's from Memory. . was ad in local rag.. See America at the 21st Century in Frankston.. thought it was just a cover band.. but went along.. got beers from bar ..looked around and all the regular nympehtish kiddie crowd was replaced with us slightly older ( ripe old age of about 28 then ..lol ) folk... then lights..and there were Buckley and Bennel...not sure if other guy was Peek.. but probably
there they were...live.. to an audience of about 150- 200...like having them in your lounge room ( big one...lol ) almost surreal.. everyon esinging along.. rememebr it to this day as a great night..just magic
glad I went :) | |

| Bands you wished you'd seen !! Posted: 2/28/2008 6:04:31 AM | | Would love to have seen the Stooges, though with the energy Iggy pop still seems to have I'm sure they'll be back. I missed Alice Cooper last year too. Still waiting for Tom Waits. Other than that I go to most of the concerts I want to, most of the bands I like don't tend to sell out too quickly. | |

| Bands you wished you'd seen !! Posted: 2/28/2008 2:56:11 PM | Shrexy
I was lucky to see Queen in Sydney circa 83 - showing my age, Freddie was awesome, they all were. I was fortunate. I have never been able to get to see U2, tickets go way too quick, Ive been left weeping and who can afford the Ebay prices ? but I really wish I had been able to see Abba, purely for the dag factor and the singalong.

| Bands you wished you'd seen !! Posted: 2/28/2008 10:04:38 PM | Saw Roger Waters last year Shrexy and the other time he came out too 2003..awesome !!! and the guitar work..could hear a pin drop..sitting here typing in my "Dark side of the moon" tshirt as we speak...cant' beat Floyd
Yeah I was lucky to see Freddie, did t want to go and scored a ticket..now a great memory and Abba..I reckon they would have been excellent..now content with Bjorn Again
But excuse my ignorance..APP ??? I've wracked my brain and the only band I can think of is the Alan Parson Project ??? am I way off track?..maybe not cause AP used to do the sound engineering for Floyd or is this some new underground band Ive never heard of ?:

One regret . . haven't seen Pink Floyd . . yet!
I did see the Beatles in '64 though, if that counts for anything.
