What a Choice! Sex with a Sleaze for $100,000 or Writing for Peanuts
By Nicole McClelland, Mother Jones
Sites like SugarDaddy.com lure young women by offering them far more money than they could get in most professions. What's wrong with this picture?

http://www.alternet.org/sex/77923/?page=2

"When I arrive home to a houseful of twentysomethings, we rail against the lowball. The lone male in the group asks, "Would it have made a difference if he'd been attractive?" Nobody answers for a second. "Probably," I concede, and everyone reluctantly agrees; we are all sex-positive feminists here, offended not that he offered me money for sex, but that he offered so little and was so gross, and if the idea of doing him were palatable, and I were single, it's possible he'd be doing double duty as my boyfriend and payroll officer."

I'll admit I'm partial to good looking women but the idea of sex for $ is a bit too mercenary --and besides, sex always seems to include that emotional factor. The Demi Moore/Robert Redford movie wouldn't have been made had Redford or Moore NOT been 'beautiful people'.

What do POFer's think about this ? Also, SugarDaddy advertises on POF if I'm not mistaken. The verdict ?

There is that date a millionaire site I see on here a lot as well.

All reminds me of the post by a woman in NYC wanted a guy who earns over 500K a year to marry as that's what she thinks her price is, then a guy who was a trader responded explaining the different between a trading positing and a buy and hold, though mostly likely a comedy spoof/urban legend, though a good explanation of looks vs money either way.

Personally it's not for me, though each to their own.

It really makes one wonder who the joke is really on ? I wonder how some Women think they can hold a man's attention with that kind of money .

sooner or later he's gonna want to trade up.

Simple fact is that some men want a trophy and are willing to pay, while some women want money and will sell their Y.

Date
dinner.... $100 - $200
club........ $100 +
------------------------

= Getting laid or not getting laid???????? not a sure thing

Exchange of services $300 - $500

No strings
No questions
No emotions
------------------------------

= SURE to get laid.

Depends on what a person actually wants. I'm not here to judge, just commenting.

Indeed, and some people are just more honest about it than others, hence why I have more respect for escorts than gold-diggers, at least they have the gumption to say what they are after and not hide behind lies or comments such as "a real gentlemen always pay for the woman..." etc.

This situation doesn't strike me as novel. Almost everyone has a price.

Old story.

A philosopher goes up to a good looking young lady and asks her, "Would you got to bed with me for a million dollars?"

After a moment's thought she replies, "Yes, I would."

"Would you got to bed with me for one hundred dollars?" is his next question.

The young woman is outraged. "What do you think I am? A prostitute?"

"We've already determined that. Now we're just haggling over the price."

Ironically, after perusing sugardaddy.com, I found only a few of that women on there that I would even CONSIDER thinking about "taking care of.."

Aren't golddiggers supposed to be ATTRACTIVE?
If they are not....what's the point???

Physically I'd think the majority would agree, by nature of what they are doing it's an oxymoron for them to be attractive I'd think.

In that case, an assumed sense of entitlement by nature of gender ....... without an understanding or admittance of the deal.

gee, are you all that gullable?

if everybody were what they claimed to be,....wouldn't life be grand,...

the truth is that's not the case,...which is why people have to be soooo very cairfull and anonymous,....

one has to ask why would a wo/man with vast resources have to advertise on any site,...and why he/she( because the sugardaddies apparently also claims to have rich women,...looking for guys,....)
but why,....

as for advertising,....on this or any site,...advertising isn't endorsing,....it may seem so to some but it isn't,.... that's what freedom of expression is all about,...no one is forcing anyone to indulge in any of those sites,....you choose to,...or not,....why get bothered as long as all involved are over 21 and hurting no one but themselves,....why care?

Dr Phil apparently had a show where some of the patrons of this site where on,...

I had a good laugh while I fixed dinner,....

so I ask you? ....... why do you care???

Ah yes him ....... now there is a person who's never heard of client centred or listening properly, though that is a whole different thread.

so I ask you? ....... why do you care???

I don't I find it funny how people lie to themselves them blame others.

gee, are you all that gullable?

Of course not, though .......

because,.....I find it funny how people lie to themselves then blame others.

although I personally dislike Dr Phil and find him dangerous,...he was background noise while doing dinner,...had I been interested I would have turned to star treck,...

I taught my children to beware of strangers,...to never blindly go off with then,...

it's about time parents remembered what they taught their children,...
why,....and take their own advice,....

there are an overabundant programs like dateling (appropo BTW), 48 hours, w-five, etc that tell us of the danger that can be encountered on the other end of the net,...
danger that happens every day, and not allways to people we don't know,....

apparently there are also very gullable people who think after a few letter's from an unseen person that they are in love and hand over their hard earned savings,...

sometimes it even happens to people one wouldn't consider gullable,...but why does it happen?,.....

why? because we forget to take our own advice,....time to remember what we taught,...

and it wouldn't hurt to go back and remind our kids about this regarding their on line behaviour again too,.....some of them are as grown up as some of us,....

I was approached in a bar not long ago by a twenty something year old woman asking if she could be my "sugarbaby". I replied that she would need to adjust to living below the poverty line, to which she quickly left.

A good movie plot:

A 28 year old woman is in love with an 18 year old gigolo. In order to keep him happy she goes with a 60 year old "sugar daddy". The "'sugar daddy" dies 20 years later without a will. She gets nothing at age 48, however the 18 year old gigolo is now 38. Turns out that he is the estranged son of the "sugar daddy". At 38 he goes from being a gigolo to becoming a "sugar daddy" after getting his inheritance.

This story could also be told in reverse, substituting "sugar momma" for sugar daddy and "sugar baby" for gigolo.

Oh well I can tell it is time for me to go to sleep.

can't help feeling these women will look back into the past at some time, and deeply regret they traded themselves for so little...

Okay, I had to check out this site. The first thing that struck me as odd is that it's free to register. If I'm really a SugarDaddy then I should have no problem paying to register. So I took a look at some of the SugarDaddies. Most look like they can't bare rub two nickels together. Then I looked at the SugarBabies and had to laugh. Yeah, there's some pretty women there, but few that are GoldDigger quality. One of the women looks suspiciously like Uma Thurman. I looked up SugarMommies in my area and there was nothing. So I expanded my search criteria to the nearest 250 miles. There's one Asian girl in Schenectady who, judging by her profile, doesn't know what a SugarMommy is and what a SugarBaby is. When I put the max age limit I find two more woman. One says she's not looking to support anyone (but is listed as a SugarMommy) and the other one is just plain scary.

I didn't think it possible, but it's worse than PoF
