| REVERSING THE SPELL Posted: 2/28/2008 11:55:20 PM | hear the rain like music from a far planet see this day with gray light leaking from the sky taste me vast, opened, hollowed out a cave facing impermanence of life forever the gray sky has poured thru me i am the window breaking i am the pieces of myself falling to the ground nothing lasts forever pain is a feeling like every other feeling there are so many ways to die brutal or graceful silent as blood through plastic tubes loud as the siren wounding word come come climb inside me wear me like a coat wear me like the air touch me like i am still alive love me before i die give me crutches that i might walk again into the white night, no light just snow just snow snow in the wind this is how the dead return gracefully and with no footprint | |

| REVERSING THE SPELL Posted: 2/29/2008 12:32:30 AM | Silverswan...you've left so many wonderful writes around the pond I wonder if you'd gather them up and place them here For those of us who so enjoying reading them | |
|
| REVERSING THE SPELL Posted: 2/29/2008 9:11:33 AM | Thank you Salty. I guess that is what I will do then, start picking up the pieces of me left all over the place.
when i think of spring i think not of the first robin but the first buzzing bee, oer my azaleas or the first slimey peeper down by the brook those somewhat pesky critters no one particularly ever notices the first glimpse of but whose sound escorts us to the hidden places deep within a pistil deep within the reeds those inner spaces that lead me somewhere else someplace closer to the truth

| REVERSING THE SPELL Posted: 2/29/2008 9:08:47 PM | oh my.
thank you all for such kind words. i feel truly humbled and hope you will continue to drop by and share your poems
so many loved ones have pushed off my from my heart like boats from a shore under the cold stone of moon's light
i gather the lace of loss its intricate patterns of sorrow and pain quite dangerous in these insomniac small hours while the moon kisses the tree tops
the only comfort is to pretend we are all at sea in our boats - broad shallow and long as we slowly move forward each of us an oar each of us the rudder for the other

| REVERSING THE SPELL Posted: 2/29/2008 9:18:42 PM | Silverswan, lovely words! I feel like I know you, somehow.
the only comfort is to pretend we are all at sea in our boats - broad shallow and long as we slowly move forward each of us an oar each of us the rudder for the other
This is simply lovely, all I can say. Lovliness does live here, reminded of this everyday!

| REVERSING THE SPELL Posted: 3/1/2008 5:22:57 AM | [Morning Swan. I'm not the best poet around but this came to me.]
Welcome to my home my walls are made of stone
When you come to visit here you never have to fear
There are empty rooms galore just go and find a door
Please fill the space inside where loved ones did reside
The chills run up my skin as you all come in
Bringing .... life's sweet song no longer am I alone.
This spell was cast on me My eyes ... they could not see
Not one single soul to tell I had to try to reverse the spell ....
[You move me to action] | |

| REVERSING THE SPELL Posted: 3/1/2008 5:52:09 AM | Paper Kings
A hand appears you take the chance as all across the sky you dance the earth below a flash of ant ridden things
then hear a scream and know its you while the falling seems like all you do jerking back, the fear that weary brings
til morning lights a twisted tale the eyes a bruise, the skin so pale, to cry we heard the song a last sigh sings
from all or nothing we arose foot on neck or path we chose masters for a moment, paper kings

How awesome this day me finding you while take'n a break from the Beau I feel your wings caressing my skin Dearest Swan Love seeing your thread in this pond!!!..........
|
| REVERSING THE SPELL Posted: 3/1/2008 3:00:29 PM | mary - now it feels like a home with you here...thank you so much for your kind thoughts.... hope the beau now has you firmly in his arms again
transcend - "you take a chance as all across the sky you dance"..... that sent me into dreams spinning and soaring amid the clouds, what a lovely image.... to feel like queen of the air after this lifetime being a slave on the ground....but I for one would settle for that one moment of being a paper king, yes I would, for the heel at my neck needs to know I did not succomb, nor bow, nor lose my fire of desire.
last but not ever least, 123.... are those truely the infamous bluebonnets behind you???? have always wanted to see fields of them, thank you for gifting them to me, for taking that room where loved ones once resided, and filling it with a new friend, a wondrous voice of strength and courage. that was a wonderful poem, thank you so very much for joining me in reversing the spell, it is so much easier together, don't you think?????
we'll all skirt past the hem of night, the damage stitched to darkness- doubled the shadow falling across the other we feel the shape of us the form darkly on the other and find there us and the new world of light that we have won

| REVERSING THE SPELL Posted: 3/1/2008 3:25:17 PM | i am searching for a kindess of spirit gentle as the breeze light on the heart a twinkle in the eye
a loving spirit who does not mold or condemn but accepts with love and compassion
a peaceful spirit understanding hopeful a dreamer of life
i am searching am searching searching
(silver, i love your thread..beautiful writes here...)

| REVERSING THE SPELL Posted: 3/1/2008 3:59:51 PM | | Thank you rose!!! Alas I fear we seek that which might be extinct, or at the very least, on the endangered species list... well, at least at my age range, they're all captured, under house arrest and that twinkle in eye hones in on thirty-somethings. We will keep our doors open and our eyes peeled for the possible..... sometimes fate gets a taste for us when we least expect it...and takes a bite of us!!!! | |
|
| REVERSING THE SPELL Posted: 3/2/2008 6:46:38 AM | age let me do it if not with grace then with a smile
no botox injections nor rearranging my body making me look fake
let me honor who i have become gratefully
the wrinkles are badges of a life lived
and the saggy parts of my body makes me chuckle
oh, the babes that did nurse and then blossom into beings
to reach the pinnacle of life after the tough journey up
smiling at the landscape the beauty that was and will be
oh, there are many years left to be lived, honored and loved
let me do it if not with grace then with a smile
|
| REVERSING THE SPELL Posted: 3/2/2008 8:01:58 AM | rose, that was beautiful, simply and sweetly so beautiful
Isn't it the truth? So often those who are young and beautiful know nothing of either
my eyes worn and weary behold the steady progression of time and this natural decline and see I have never been more beautiful I must see what I am afraid to see I must love what I have become and honor my honorable scars luminous traces of pain survived.
|
| REVERSING THE SPELL Posted: 3/2/2008 8:35:19 AM | yep swan...it is the truth!!.. and you do so inspired.... thank you. r. | |

| REVERSING THE SPELL Posted: 3/2/2008 5:27:27 PM | There is this sense of landing of seeing thru the ediface to what really matters don't make me explain just why I hear the sirens now when I never did before nor why i refuse to blink in the brittle climate of hope | |
|
| REVERSING THE SPELL Posted: 3/3/2008 8:21:42 PM | i used to...
i used to live my life waiting for something to happen and when it didn't i was disappointed
i used to live my life worrying for the other shoe to fall sometimes it didn't
i used to live my life judging people, places and things i had an opinion and wanted it heard
oh, but a waste of time so much controversy was simply between my ears
i have become humbled accepting happy
(swan..."the brittle climate of hope" is brilliant.)

| REVERSING THE SPELL Posted: 3/7/2008 6:29:53 AM | Thanks so much Rose. I'm glad you liked that - once in awhile I find the perfect words that fall into the perfect place , a perfect picture of what I feel.
Yes, we do reach a destination of valuing the simple softness of acceptance. You worded it well.
Can this fix me? Rearranging these flowers? The furniture? Will my soul calligraphy cast a glow or knit me whole from carnage and crumpled dust or build me a parapet defying air?
|
| REVERSING THE SPELL Posted: 3/7/2008 10:38:14 AM | Ive admired your way with words since i first flopped into the pond, glad to see you finally crank up your own thread all of your writtings have such style and way about them but the following i read from the first post on here just linger with me - taste me vast, opened, hollowed out a cave facing impermanence of life

| The Quilt Posted: 3/7/2008 3:04:08 PM | (Hi Swan)
Pieces here ..... Pieces there wouldn't think they were much good for anything lieing there discarded on the floor
In the right hands .... with a magical eye together the pieces ... starting to tie a completed quilt of you.
