Does the person I'm looking for even exist?

Well I guess I am looking to get my profile reviewed. I have been on POF for several months now and have yet to be contacted by anyone even close to the kind of person I am looking for. I guess I am just really really not into the guys who list their interests as Larry the Cable Guy, heavy metal, quading, fishing, hunting, offroading, and all the sorts of pursuits that get you muddy and miserable (I'm not knocking anyone who likes those things..its just so not for me!) I mean I don't want to come right out and say that in my profile because as a rule I try not to be negative and come off sounding b1tchy and whiny. I just need to know how to write a profile that will attract guys who are into more clever humour, simple romance, interesting movies and music and watching the world around them and finding something different in it than everyone else. Please help.

If I were you...I'd say exactly what you wrote here. Just be honest. If they think you are being ****y or whiny...don't worry about it!

I would suggest putting this in your profile, not verbatim as it's very general.

However, your profile seems to give a lot more info about the guy you're looking for than it does about you. Bullet point lists don't go over well on profiles. Find a way to take that info and make a few short paragraphs.

Read profile writing tips thread and post back here when to this thread when you do a rewrite/edit.

FYI there is no "magic" profile that will help you find the person you're looking for. It'll still be a matter of fishing, throwing a few back and throwing your hook back in the pond. It's more a process than finding the winning formula (profile).

OK then, that's pretty good blogging for a chatty girl profile looking for gal pals to hang out with at the mall and there isn't one shred of info about who you are as a person, nor do you describe anything at all about the guy you would like to meet.

You need one whole paragraph about you. Who is the REAL you? Describe.
You need one whole paragraph about what you do and your activities. [not girly shopping stuff either] guys don't give a dang about all that stuff.
You then need one whole paragraph on the type of guy you would like to date. His qualities, inner attributes, ethics. etc.

Lose the pic of you standing in the meadow. It's not flattering, and I'm not sure about your listing *a few extra pounds* It appears to be a stretch.

The best place to get the real pro advice is the Profile Writing Tips thread at the top of the main page here in the Profile Review thread. It's the one in bold green letters by Bucsgirl.

Good luck and happy fishing!
