Lets figure something out, theres way to many nice people on here from madison for there not to be a madison get-together thread =P Any ideas of places? I think maybe people could meet at pitchers pub, or some other watering hole, with lots to do. Just an idea, I know pitchers is kinda a dive bar =)

Ya. Lets get something together in Madison...come on...Or even better, La Crosse. I will do all of the coordination. If not La Crosse, Madison would at least get me there. hehe

A Madison get-together would be cool.

There's alot of cool places to have a meet and greet. Maybe we could take advantage of the nicer weather and use a place that has outdoor seating or just hang out by Memorial Union and enjoy a beverage and the lake.

I would be up for a Madison get together but can we keep it out of the dive bars? I think outside would be cool but then you need to be careful of weather. I see the thread just started so I will check back to see how things progress......Good Idea!!

Last time I did Madison it was the the Bean, but the place had so many people we never all found each other. We had maybe 40 people show up and maybe only 15 - 20 of us ever found each other!

I say we should start at a park some afternoon. That way there is plenty of room for milling, not to noisy. you can enjoy the great weather we're having. From there we could either make a collective decision on some where else, stay there, or break off in groups.

Problem with (renting a space, getting catered food, admission fees) is that POF generally frowns upon any member collecting money from other members, so someone has to take the risk of laying out the cash, and then hope someone shows up and tosses a few bucks in the hat voluntarily.

POF does not frown on stuff such as camping, dances, cover charges, etc where each member pays their own way directly to the venue if they choose to go. Generally when fees apply it's a good idea to put that up front in the party announcement, so that folks don't drive to the event and suddenly find out there is a $10 cover or some such surprise. POF also does not frown on suggesting if people want to voluntarily bring snacks, etc to the event, but it should not be implied it is required.

This is just general information, and not meant to imply that your idea is bad... Just info for the masses who have all these great ideas to share with us all

let throw this out there. hookers resort. very nice resturant. kinda like prime quarter. it is a cook your own steak place. they also have a bar and live music sometimes. i would go there. it is close to madison. they also have some cottages to rent if you want to stay the night. they should have a website but haven't checked on that yet.

Hey I am most likely moving to the Madison area and I would be up for a get together to meet new people. I am a little drive away but I could visit my daughter there too!

I like the idea of the Union. It is large enough outside and on the weekends they have live music. If it is raining they have facilities indoors. Are we going to do this before it gets cold out? Let me know....I can help organize but cant take it all on because of my schedule....
