| WELCOME TO TENNESSEE!!!! Posted: 3/21/2008 4:02:21 PM | Forum visitors, Tennessee suth'n hospitality really does still exist!!
Don't just look at a thread like this one, where nobody has posted anything besides the doggoned slick-headed OP up there, and assume it's like that too down here nowadays. Not true at all!
Hospitality still prevails in da South!! We may be a melting pot more than ever before down here, but we still know a heck of a lot about suth'n hospitality. Not to mention that great suth'n cookin'.. YessireeBob! And the weather! Well other than those twisty things we get from time to time, it's downright toastie! And the music too! Wooeee!
See, not that many suth'ners tend to frequent these forums, but it's getting better I think. So come on down!!
And post here too if you like. Tennessee is truly a very friendly place. Even in 2008!

I haven't checked it out yet but did I see a post for another get together at Burgess Falls? I don't know where that is but I plan to check out the details and maybe show up there too. That one is not until sometime in June so we still have some time before we have to commit to that.
We need a smiley that represents a procrastinator. I would wear that one out.

I LOVE TO SING AND DANCE AND HAVE A GOOD TIME BUT WHERE MY SISTER LIVES IT IS A DRY COUNTY AND I'M NOT TO SURE ABOUT THAT!!! AND SUGGESTIONS WOULD BE GREATLY APPRICIATED!! NOT LOOKING TO BE A "TUMBLEWEED" , AS I WOULD JUST LIKE TO RE-LOCATE TO A PLACE WHERE THERE ARE A GREAT BUNCH OF PEOPLE, WHO ARE WILLING TO MAKE NEW FRIENDS. SINCERELY, LIGHT_HEARTED

You'll just hafta say NO to stuff like new positions and exhaustion, I reckon...
Are you still in good ole peaceful scenic-mountain-flanked Alcoa though? Seems to be that would be tough to move away from. In fact if you like country music, I may even offer to swap with ya.

| WELCOME TO TENNESSEE!!!! Posted: 4/29/2008 10:42:23 AM | You need to try and come to some of the M&G's, angel47240. Tnmanalone is having a M&G at Burgess Falls on June 7th. Be sure and check out the TN Singles Events listed in the Forums and try to get out to a few. You don't live too far from me and if you want and are able, we could try and carpool to a few of them so you wouldn't have to worry about getting lost. Enjoy TN and all the beauty it has to offer and welcome! Glad to have you here in our neck of the woods ! | |

Hope you have a great time finding your way around and seekin' out things to do.
One thing's for sure, if you like the great outdoors, there's not much more awesome than the Smoky Mountains over your way.

|
| WELCOME TO TENNESSEE!!!! Posted: 5/1/2008 10:11:58 AM | Some parts of TN are quite okay....others absolutely SUCK
places like Memphis.....lived in Germantown at least, but
man-o-man, I don't know why anyone would pick Memphis
to live in, other than perhaps getting transfered there or
taking a professional career move...like I did...which was good
but I couldn't wait to get the hell out of that backward place
|
| WELCOME TO TENNESSEE!!!! Posted: 5/4/2008 1:37:21 PM | Hard to argue with that FB.. Some areas sure aren't as nice as others.
But we have more natural beauty than almost anybody. So that keeps us smilin'.
If I had my druthers in TN, I'd probably pick Maryville. What a cool little town, and close to everything that's so awesome about our state, but not quite close enough to be a tourism nightmare in the Summer, as are some areas. Alcoa too is right there as well. I rather like Chattanooga myself too.
I love Gatlinburg. But when I was there one of many times, and couldn't find a place to park in the whole town, and it was all bumper-to-bumper everywhere, I kinda decided it might not be for me. But it's still a great place to go.

| WELCOME TO TENNESSEE!!!! Posted: 5/7/2008 11:04:06 AM | Now all of the losers and wannabes are moving out
of Florida to populate 'east Tennessee'.....Tri cities....Kingsport
Maryville, and the like..............frankly I'm glad they're gone from here
in some parts of Florida.....but that's where the (FL) dirt bags are moving to now......
..................just wait.... Every n'er-do-well is heading in your direction...
I'm staying here ON THE BEACH
| |
|
| WELCOME TO TENNESSEE!!!! Posted: 5/8/2008 2:59:30 AM | | ...............where your beaches will be invaded by rednecks every summer........... | |
|
| WELCOME TO TENNESSEE!!!! Posted: 5/8/2008 7:36:50 AM | ^^^^^^^^ WRONG
Most rednecks from where you are, i.e. TN, AL AR, GA make the
TREK (by car nonetheless each year, like a friggen Mecca) to places
like DESTIN, and other places on "The Redneck Riviera".......
THEY don't usually appear here in SARASOTA, Naples or Ft. Myers......
Some of them are so dumb, they actually GO TO FLORIDA in the summer
the worst time in the year.......most people have sense to visit warm climates
or tropical areas (like SW FL) during the winter, or in springtime !!
No, but these particular rednecks go from WARM to HOT.......
Most thinking people who already RESIDE in Florida, go to places like
Massachusetts, Vermont, Canada, Maine, Wisconsin, etc in the summertime...
we certainly don't head further SOUTH ! (we may go to Europe maybe, or even
the west coast, like northern CA, WA or OR)......
Why would anyone, say living in muggy Memphis, Birmingham, Atlanta
or Knoxville already in the 90 DEGREE range in June, pack up and actually
drive to a HOTTER place EACH YEAR, EVERY FRIGGEN SUMMER to
FLORIDA on 'vacation'........????????
I guess stupid habits are hard to break, or their cars only know ONE direction
each year, every year...........so much for intelligent, varied, and learned TRAVEL
eh ?? | |
|
| WELCOME TO TENNESSEE!!!! Posted: 5/8/2008 2:53:19 PM | Well, I rather like Tennessee in many ways, and I lived extensively in both places. Not very many Tennesseans though seem to want to live elsewhere. They get rather attached to the rustic beauty of their surroundings, and tend to want to remain here. The further east one gets in the State though, generally the better, at least in my view.
I'm glad everybody is happy where they live.. Hopefully most Floridians are as happy where they are, as are most Tennesseans.
