| Keyboard types odd symbols Posted: 3/5/2008 6:45:14 PM | While typing a POF email I noticed odd symbols showing up.
I type a Z and get a Y. _ is a question mark , § is the number sign...I know this should be a simple setting to change, please help. I have no comma either ä nor square brackets ü and +
Btw, it is only on POF that this happens, I opened Word and tested it.

Within this email I right click and language is US English. I went to Control Panel double click Keyboard and I have no language tab....where else shall I look.

You see, a computer is like a vegetable: you pour water on it and let it sit in dirt in the sun and then you can eat it. Or not. On the other hand you may have the wrong font selected. A dingbat font will give you symbols instead of letters. Try your search under the start button and see which fonts are loaded/available.

I will try that suggestion, thanks.

Apparently hitting Shift and Alt together did something. # is actually working.

As for the retard above, no need to waffle on about watering computers, some people might actually do it
Would recommend books like PC's for dummies, they give simple what if ? questions and answers
You might need a reboot after the changes, see how it goes :)

| Keyboard types odd symbols Posted: 6/18/2008 1:19:15 PM | Ehh...I am a REAL computer idiot...so please bear with me. . Here is what just happened...
Okay...so I wanted to add a question mark at the end of a sentence and here is what I got instead ... É....why is that (insert question mark) Lol!
And I have just noticed that many of my upper case letters or symbols are not what they should be...my square brackets used to make quotes on forums for example is now coming out as ^ ....HELP!!!! ( and oh yeah...my explanation mark is OBVIOUSLY working just fine ...lol!)
I might add that this happened from one minute to the next within the same post...I don`t THINK I touched anything. I just noticed that I also lost my apostrophe...dang!
Thank you in advance. | |

| Keyboard types odd symbols Posted: 6/18/2008 2:36:07 PM | I guess I'll answer my own post...haha...but even weirder than that ^ is that everything is back to normal now....my question mark is back....woo hoo....but what can cause something like this to happen in the first place I wonder????
